First Half-Year Momentum Continues as Revenues and Profits Rise Steadily

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 11 – Trina Solar Co., Ltd. (688599) today released its third-quarter reports for 2020, revealing that first-half momentum has held up, with revenues and profits both rising steadily. In the first three quarters, the company reported total realized income of RMB 19.93 billion, a year-on-year increase of 18.66%, with third-quarter realized income accounting for RMB 7.38 billion. Shareholders enjoyed a stake in realized net profits of RMB 832 million, a year-on-year increase of 118.94%.

Rapid module growth sees global Vertex orders break 2GW

February this year marked the global release of Trina Solar’s 500W Vertex ultra-high-power module series, the output of which was subsequently upgraded from 500W+ to 600W+ in just five short months. To date, the company has received signed orders for over 2GW of Vertex modules from its major global markets across Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and the Middle East. All domestic orders have come from top-ranking Chinese electric power developers. Committed to pushing future boundaries, Trina Solar expects total production capacity of its ultra-high-power Vertex modules to hit around 22GW by the end of 2020, with a state-of-the-art 210-focused production setup forecast to be in place in 2021.

Largest orders come from overseas, underlining leading status in key markets

Early in the third quarter, Trina Solar signed a deal with The Rise Fund, part of one of the world’s largest alternative asset management companies, TPG Group, for project contracts accounting for almost 1GW in total. Included in the deal are 35 overseas PV plant projects across Europe and Latin America, specifically Spain, Chile, Colombia and Mexico. The projects are worth around US$700 million in total, some 20% of which will be realized income in 2020, with the remainder to be realized by instalments in 2021 and 2022. This innovation-based commercial model, in which the project package is sold integrated and in bulk, reflects Trina Solar’s successful venture into overseas project development, and underlines the company’s leading status in key overseas markets.

Tracker mount acquisition boosts all-round market competitiveness 

In early September, Trina Solar became the first Chinese PV company to acquire an overseas tracker mount business when it bought up the remaining equity in a Spanish tracker mount manufacturer. With the ongoing growth of the tracker mount market and its own growing penetration rate, Trina Solar will continue to seek coordinated and optimized integration of its high-power modules and PV tracker mounts in order to create greater value for customers.

 

Manufacturing bases fire up, accelerating UHP module industrialization

Trina Solar’s two manufacturing bases in Suqian, Jiangsu province, and Yiwu, Zhejiang province, simultaneously began formal production of 500W+ ultra-high power Vertex modules at the start of the third quarter. Phase one production of 4GW modules began in Yiwu on July 29, with 4GW preparations in place for phase two. Trina Solar will also invest aroundRMB 2.5 billion in the construction of the “10GW Annual Production Capacity High-Efficiency PV Module and PV Derivatives” project, which is forecast to produce annual sales revenue of around RMB 13.5 billion once production begins.

The cells part of the business will see Trina Solar invest close to RMB 3.8 billion in the construction of the “10GW High-Efficiency 210mm Large-Size Solar Cells” project. Cell production capacity is projected to reach around 26GW by the end of 2021, some 70% of which will be accounted for by 210mm large-size cells.

Looking ahead, Trina Solar will continue to scale up from this basis, collaborating with partners on new installations, new technologies and new processes to achieve further breakthroughs for the PV industry by raising efficiency and lowering costs, while making new contributions to mankind as we approach the age of zero-carbon energy.

5 Tips for Diabetes Management

Here are some tips that every patient suffering from diabetes should consider to control the illness and stop potential adverse effects of the disease.

1. Food - A key to many diabetes management plans is learning how to count carbohydrates. Carbohydrates often have the biggest impact on your blood sugar levels. Learn about carbohydrate counting and portion sizes, make every meal well balanced. Avoid sugar-sweetened beverages

2. Exercise – An active lifestyle is very important in the management of diabetes. However, you need to make sure you take extra cations when doing so.

Check your blood sugar level. Check your blood sugar level before, during and after exercise, especially if you take insulin or medications that lower blood sugar

Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water or other fluids while exercising because dehydration can affect blood sugar levels.

Be prepared. Always have a small snack or glucose tablets with you during exercise in case your blood sugar level drops too low.

3. Medication 

Store insulin properly. Insulin that is not properly stored or expired may not be useful. Insulin is especially sensitive to extremes of temperature.

Discuss issues with your doctor. If your medication for diabetes causes your blood sugar level to drop too low or raise them consistently too high, the dose or medication schedule may need to be adjusted.

Be careful with new medications. If you're considering an over-the-counter medication or your doctor prescribes a new drug to treat another condition, make sure to ask your doctor or pharmacist if the new medicines may affect your blood sugar levels.

4. Hormones 

Changes in hormone levels before and during menstruation can result in significant oscillations in blood sugar levels. Try to identify patterns and speak to your physicians if you experience fluctuations in blood sugar levels.

When you are stressed, the hormones your body produces in response to prolonged stress may cause a rise in your blood sugar level. Additionally, it may be harder to closely follow your usual diabetes management routine if you're under a lot of extra pressure. Identify the triggers, learn coping mechanism like relaxation techniques and don’t be afraid to ask for extra help when needed.

5. Illness 

When you are unwell, your body produces stress-related hormones that help your body cope with the illness, but they can also raise your blood sugar level. Changes in your appetite and normal activity also may complicate diabetes management. Make sure to check with your doctor if you are unwell or unable to eat normally. Your doctor may need to make temporary adjustments to your medication plans.

ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC for Trading & Distribution Signs New EPC Contracts with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company worth EGP 846 Million.

 

ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC (SWDY.CA on the Egyptian stock exchange), the leading Wires & Cables and Integrated Energy Solution Provider in the Middle East and Africa, announced today that its subsidiary ELSEWEDY ELECTRIC for Trading & Distribution has signed a new EPC contracts with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) as follows:

1. Construction of overhead transmission line (2X30KM) with a value of EGP 148 million on turnkey basis to connect Toshka 4 substation. The EPC contract will be implemented over 4-month period starting from the date of acceptance of the bid. 

2. Construction of Toshka Substation with a value of EGP 410 million on turnkey basis. The EPC contract will be implemented over 10-month period starting from the date of acceptance of the bid.

3. Construction of West Portsaid Substation with a value of EGP 288 million on turnkey basis. The EPC contract will be implemented over 12-month period starting from the signing date.

شركة السويدي اليكتريك للتجارة والتوزيع إحدي شركات الـسـويـدي إلـيـكـتـريـك (المملوكة بنسبة 99.86%)، قد وقعت اليوم مجموعة عقود بقيمة 846 مليون جنية مصري لصالح الشركة المصرية لنقل الكهرباء.

SWDY.CA) المدرجة بالبورصة المصرية (EGX -- الشركة الرائدة في تقديم حلول الطاقة والبنية التحتية المتكاملة في أفريقيا والشرق الأوسط – تعلن أن شركتها التابعة شركة السويدي اليكتريك للتجارة والتوزيع قد وقعت مجموعه عقود بتاريخ اليوم بقيمة 846 مليون جنية مصري لتنفيذ المشروعات الاتيه: -

• تنفيذ مشروع خط هوائى لربط محطه محولات توشكى (4) عن طريف فتح الخط الكهربائى (العوينات / توشكى 2) (د/خ) على المحطه بطول 2*30 كم بنظام تسليم المفتاح بقيمه 148 مليون جنيه مصرى على ان يتم تنفيذ المشروع فى خلال (4) شهور من تاريخ الأخطار بقبول العطاء.

• تنفيذ مشروع انشاء محطه محولات توشكى (4) جهد 220/66/22 ك.ف سعه (3*175+5*40) م.ف.أ من النوع المعزول بالغاز (GIS) بنظام تسليم المفتاح بقيمه 410 مليون جنيه مصرى على ان يتم تنفيذ المشروع فى خلال (10) شهور من تاريخ الأخطار بقبول العطاء.

• تنفيذ مشروع انشاء محطه محولات غرب بورسعيد - جهد 220/66/11 ك.ف سعه (2*175+2*40) م.ف.أ بنظام تسليم المفتاح بقيمه 288 مليون جنيه مصرى على ان يتم تنفيذ المشروع فى خلال (12) شهر من تاريخ توقيع العقد .

الجدير بالذكر أن شركة السويدي اليكتريك للتجارة والتوزيع هى الشركه الرائده فى تنفيذ خطوط الجهد العالى وذلك بتنفيذ اكثر من 1000 كم خطوط بجهد ( 220 ك.ف & 500 ك.ف ) داخل مصر وافريقيا .بالاضافه الى انشاء العديد من محطات المحولات جهد ( 220 ك.ف & 500 ك.ف )

Gulf Capital signs the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) as it incorporates Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors into all its investment and ownership processes

 

(Dubai – November 3, 2020) – Gulf Capital, a leading growth markets alternative asset manager, has today announced that it has formally joined the United Nation’s international network of investors working together to implement sustainability principles in the global financial system. The Firm has formalised its commitment to responsible investment by becoming a Signatory of the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (“PRI”). 

PRI works to understand the investment implications of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors and to support its international network of investor signatories in incorporating these factors into their investment and ownership decisions. The principles were developed by the international investment community and reflect the view that ESG issues can affect the performance of investment portfolios and therefore must be given appropriate consideration by investors if they are to fulfill their fiduciary duty. In implementing the Principles, Gulf Capital aims to contribute to the development of a more sustainable global financial system while improving its portfolio companies’ impacts on society and the environment.

At a time of increased focus on the environment, social justice and corporate responsibility, becoming a signatory underscores Gulf Capital’s commitment to incorporating ESG factors into all its due diligence, investment, and ownership decisions.
