Epson’s new entry-level scanner protects originals and detects double-feeding, at an affordable price

Cairo – Egypt; 8^th November 2017: Epson announces the DS-410 scanner, which offers outstanding productivity features at an affordable price. This makes it ideal for small or home-office users looking to buy a feature-packed business scanner, as well as IT departments that want to equip desktop scanner fleets and stay within budget.

The DS-410 provides a range of invaluable productivity features including double feed detection and paper protection technology to make sure originals are protected and every page is scanned. Dubaï, Emirats Arabes Unis, 8 novembre 2017: Jaguar Land Rover a annoncé aujourd’hui que la voiture de Formule E 100% électrique de l’équipe Panasonic Jaguar, la I-TYPE 2, sera présente pour la première fois au Moyen-Orient au Salon international de l’automobile de Dubaï le 14 novembre 2017.

Conçue pour fournir un équilibre optimal entre puissance et efficience, la I-TYPE 2 passe de 0 à 100 km/h en tout juste 2,9 secondes et peut générer jusqu’à 150kW d’énergie au freinage pour une plus grande autonomie.

La Formule E s’est rapidement imposée comme une discipline de poids dans le calendrier des sports automobiles. Pour ceux qui ne savent pas de quoi il s’agit, ils pourront se glisser dans la peau du pilote de la I-TYPE, à travers une expérience de réalité virtuelle lors du Salon international de l’automobile de Dubaï.

Bruce Robertson, directeur de Jaguar Land Rover dans la région du Moyen-Orient et Afrique du Nord, a expliqué : « Le monde autour de nous est en train de changer, faisant un pas de géant dans l’ère de l’électrification. Avec un nouveau design dynamique et un nombre significatif d’améliorations techniques, la deuxième génération de la Jaguar I-TYPE a déjà lancé le prochain cycle évolutif dans l’équipe Panasonic Jaguar.

Durant les weekends de course, lors des entraînements et des sessions de qualification, la puissance maximale est permise. Toutefois, durant les courses, toutes les voitures roulent en mode d’économie d’énergie, avec l’option d’utiliser le bouton « pousser pour dépasser » qui fournit un maximum de puissance pour une période limitée de cinq secondes.

La quantité d’énergie qui peut être fournie au moteur électrique par les batteries du système de stockage d’énergie rechargeable est limitée à 28 kW, avec un contrôle strict de la part de la FIA.

GROUPE MOTOPROPULSEUR

Le groupe motopropulseur de la Jaguar de 200 kW est composé d’un moteur électrique et d’une unité de contrôle du moteur. L’unité de contrôle du moteur convertit le courant direct de la batterie en un courant alternatif de densité élevée, permettant au moteur électrique de lancer la voiture à une vitesse maximale de 225 km/h.

SUSPENSION

La précision de manœuvre est essentielle pour enregistrer des temps rapides, surtout sur les circuits urbains de la Formule E. La I-TYPE 2 est équipée de suspension avant à double triangulation, avec amortisseurs et barres de torsions. A l’arrière se trouve un système de suspension à ressorts avec amortisseurs à quatre réglages. Les amortisseurs, la garde au sol, le carrossage et les barres sont ajustables pour optimiser les réglages pour chaque circuit.

FREINAGE

Durant une course, autant que possible, les pilotes réduiront la vitesse à l’approche d’un virage en utilisant le freinage à récupération. Toutefois, une puissance de freinage additionnelle est requise pour les virages plus accentués, obtenue grâce aux freins carbone de la I-TYPE 2, utilisant deux systèmes hydrauliques séparés pour permettre au pilote d’ajuster l’équilibre avant et arrière.

ROUES ET PNEUS

Les pneus Michelin de 18 pouces fournissent une adhérence optimale à grande vitesse aussi bien dans des conditions humides et sèches. Largeur maximale avant – 260 mm/ arrière 305 mm. Diamètre maximal – avant 650 mm/ arrière 690 mm.

BOÎTE DE VITESSE

Afin de transformer le couple instantané du groupe motopropulseur en accélération instantanée, la I-TYPE 2 possède une boîte de vitesse séquentielle légère, opérée par des palettes. Les rapports de transmission conçus par Jaguar Racing fournissent le parcours le plus rapide et le plus fluide de la ligne de départ à la vitesse maximale.

SYSTEME DE STOCKAGE D’ÉNERGIE RECHARGEABLE

Le système de stockage d’énergie renouvelable est une batterie haute tension, à refroidissement liquide, qui fournit de l’énergie au groupe motopropulseur. Il est rechargé avant la course, mais aussi durant la course à travers le freinage à récupération qui peut emmagasiner de l’énergie équivalant à sept tours de circuit durant une course.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, November 8, 2017: Jaguar Land Rover announced today that Panasonic Jaguar Racing’s all-electric Formula E race car, the I-TYPE 2 will be making its debut in the Middle East at the Dubai International Motor Show on November 14, 2017.

Designed and engineered to deliver an optimum balance between power and efficiency, the I-TYPE 2 accelerates from 0-100km/h in a stunning 2.9 seconds and can regenerate up to 150kW of energy under braking to extend its range.

Formula E has quickly established itself as an exciting addition to the motorsport calendar, and for those who are not sure what all the fuss is about, they will get the chance to actually feel what it’s like to pilot the I-TYPE race car through an immersive virtual reality experience at Dubai International Motor Show.

With a dynamic new livery design and a significant number of technical upgrades, the second generation of Jaguar Racing’s I-TYPE, has already begun the next evolutionary cycle in Panasonic Jaguar Racing. 

On race weekends throughout practice and qualifying sessions, maximum power is permitted. During races, however, all cars run in power-saving race mode with the option to deploy their 'Push-to-Pass' which delivers maximum power for a limited period of 5 seconds. 

The amount of energy that can be delivered to the Motor-Generator Unit (MGU) by the Rechargeable Energy Storage System (RESS) batteries is limited to 28 kW which is strictly monitored by the FIA.

POWER UNIT

Jaguar Racing’s 200kW power unit is made up of a Motor Generator Unit (MGU) and a Motor Control Unit (MCU). The MCU efficiently converts DC current from the battery into high density AC current, allowing the MGU to propel the car to its maximum speed of 140mph (225km/h).

SUSPENSION

Essential to fast lap times is precision handling, especially on Formula E’s city centre race tracks. The I-TYPE 2 is equipped with pushrod operated double wishbone front suspension, with twin dampers and torsion bars. At the rear is a coil over suspension system with four way dampers. The ride height, dampers, camber, toe and anti- roll bars are all adjustable to optimise the set up for each track.

BRAKES

During a race, as much as possible, drivers will reduce speed on the approach to a corner using regenerative braking. However, additional stopping power is also needed for lower speed corners. Any unwanted speed is immediately scrubbed off by the I-TYPE 2’s carbon brakes, utilising two separate hydraulic systems to allow the driver to adjust the front to rear balance.

WHEELS & TYRES

Providing optimum grip at racing speeds in both wet and dry conditions is a set of bespoke 18” treaded Michelin tyres. Max width front - 260mm / rear 305mm Max Diameter – front 650mm / rear 690mm

GEARBOX

To turn instant torque from the power unit into instant acceleration, the I-TYPE 2 has a lightweight two gear Jaguar Racing Sequential Gearbox operated with a paddle shift. The gear ratios devised by Jaguar Racing provide the fastest, smoothest path from grid to top speed.

RESS

The Rechargeable Energy Storage System (RESS) is a high voltage, liquid cooled battery that supplies energy to the Power Unit. Before the race it is charged externally, but is also charged during the race via regenerative braking that can harvest as much as seven lap’s worth of energy during a race.

Careem Officially Launches Further Innovative Transportation Solutions in Cairo, Alexandria and Tanta by Integrating “Bike” into its Growing Network

Cairo, Egypt, 8 November 2017 – Careem, the region’s leading app-based car booking service, announced the integration of scooters and motorcycles in Cairo, Alexandria and Tanta as the latest addition to its scope of products under the name “Bike” to help local commuters beat the heavy traffic and reach their destination in the fastest and most affordable way.  

Since its launch in Egypt in 2014, Careem operations across Egypt have been customized to suit the specific needs and demographic of every city. Being three of Egypt’s most crowded cities, transportation can be a real challenge for commuters. By introducing “Bike”, Careem offers its customers a more time-efficient, affordable and fun means of transportation.

“Catering to the various needs of our customers in the cities where we operate has always been a priority for us,” said Belal El Megharbel, General Manager, Careem Cairo. “It’s the objective of making people’s lives easier what motivates us to come up with creative solutions to overcome transportation challenges in Egypt. Careem’s innovative new solution will alleviate traveling costs by 35% compared to the regular ride. Current number of Careem scooter captains reached over 1.000 captains with a 55% growth rate week on week. The fleet gets quadrupled every month.

Furthermore, in response to Egypt’s most challenging transport issues, Careem offers specially-tailored solutions for the local market to overcome these issues that included the integration of white taxi cabs into the its network in Greater Cairo and Hurghada in September 2016, with solid plans to extend the service in other governorates in order to cover the great demand on transportation services in the Egyptian market. Careem also offers Water Taxi services in Cairo as well as tuktuk in Hurghada and Sahel.

In just three years since its launch in Egypt, Careem managed to expand its network to reach 14 Egyptian cities and employing around 80,000 Captains. Careem has delivered tens of millions of rides for around 3 million users since launching in the country in 2014. The company plans to add more cities to its network.

وسيعمل الحل الجديد الذي أطلقته كريم على تخفيض تكاليف الانتقال في المدن الثلاث بنسبة تصل إلى 35% مقارنة بالرحلات التقليدية. في الوقت نفسه، بلغ عدد كباتن الإسكوتر والدراجات النارية في كريم أكثر من 1000 كابتن بمعدل نمو أسبوعي 55%.  حيث يتضاعف حجم أسطول كريم بأربعة أضعاف.      

وفي إطار استجابتها لأكثر مشكلات المواصلات الحاحاً في مصر، قامت كريم باستحداث خدمات تتناسب مع احتياجات السوق المحلي من أجل المساهمة في حل مشكلة المواصلات. ففي سبتمبر 2016، قامت كريم بدمج سيارات التاكسي الأبيض ضمن شبكتها بالقاهرة الكبرى والغردقة، حيث تستهدف خطط الشركة مد هذه الخدمة في عدد من المحافظات والمدن المصرية الأخرى من أجل تلبية الطلب الهائل على وسائل المواصلات في السوق المصري. وتوفر كريم أيضاً خدمة التاكسي المائي في القاهرة وخدمة التُوك توك في الغردقة والساحل.

مجلة "POWER" تُصنّف وحدة الطاقة المبتكرة من الجيل الثالث بلس بمحطة نوفوفورونيج للطاقة النووية كواحدة من أفضل ثلاثة منشآت نووية في العالم

صنّفت مجلة POWER، أعرق المجلات الامريكية المتخصصة في مجال الطاقة، وحدة الطاقة المبتكرة رقم 6 لمحطة نوفوفورونيج للطاقة النووية كواحدة من أفضل ثلاث منشآت نووية في العالم لسنة 2017. ضمت قائمة الفائزين في هذا التصنيف كل من محطة كولومبيا للطاقة النووية (الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية) ومحطة رينجالز للطاقة النووية (السويد).

وقد فازت وحدة الطاقة الروسية بمفاعل 1200 – VVER في فئة "افضل محطة" ("Top Plants")،  وهي تختلف عن فئة جائزة "محطة العام"  (‘Plant of the year’)حيث أنّ الجائزة الأخيرة تشترط أن تكون محطة الطاقة النووية تعمل تجاريا لمدة 1– 2 عاماً قبل منحها الجائزة. أما فئة "أفضل المحطات" فيتم فيها تصنيف المشاريع الواعدة والمبتكرة، التي تشير لاتجاة تطور الصناعة بكاملها.

تشير المجلة إلى أن "وحدة الطاقة الجديدة 1200– VVER لمحطة نوفوفورونيج للطاقة النووية تعتمد على آخر الانجازات والتطورات التي تلبي جميع متطلبات السلامة في مرحلة ما بعد فوكوشيما، ولهذا السبب تعتبر وحدة الطاقة من مفاعلات الجيل الثالث بلس الأولى والوحيدة من نوعها بفضل المزيج الفريد لوظائف السلامة الايجابية والسلبية.

وتتمتع وحدات الطاقة من الجيل الثالث بلس بعدد من المؤشرات الفنية والاقتصادية المطورة، تضمن السلامة المطلقة أثناء التشغيل وتتوافق تماما مع متطلبات الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية بعد فوكوشيما. ومن أهم مميزات هذه الوحدة  وجود أنظمة فريدة لا مثيل لها في العالم مثل النظام السلبي لازالة الحرارة من المفاعل (أنظمة السلامة السلبية قادرة على العمل حتى في حالة الفقدان الكامل للطاقة الكهربائية وبدون تدخل من قبل المشغلين) ومعيد الهيدروجين وحفرة تجميع صهارة المنطقة النشطة.

تجدر الإشارة أنّ هذه ليست المرة الأولى التي تعترف فيها الولايات المتحدة الامريكية بتفوق المشاريع النووية الروسية، حيث سبق لوحدة الطاقة النووية بمفاعل النيترونات السريعة BN-800 بمحطة بيلويارسك للطاقة النووية الفوز بجائزة أفضل محطة  في عام 2016 . وسبق أن قامت مجلة  أمريكية أخرى وهي "Power Engineering" بمنح الوحدة الأولى التي تم استكمال بنائها في محطة بوشهر للطاقة النووية والوحدة رقم 1 لمحطة الطاقة الهندية "كودانكولام" جائزة أفضل مشروعين لعام 2014، حيث تعتمد هاتان الوحدتان على مفاعلات روسية تعمل بالنيوترونات الحرارية من طراز  1000– VVER .

Nestlé Egypt is announcing a full six months of paid maternity leave instead of three, in addition to the entitlement of regular annual paid leave vacation days to all female employees, as of November this year, as one of the benefits packages to be offered by the company to its employees in the coming period.

This initiative emphasizes the importance of the first 1000 days of the child, where it offers a unique window of opportunity to shape healthier and more prosperous futures. During this formative period, infants require appropriate nutrition, stimulation and a caring setting to develop to their full potential.

- Provision of rooms for lactating mothers of female employees in all company locations to provide a safe and comfortable environment to help them continue to provide breastfeeding for their children for as long as possible after returning to work after the end of the maternity leave (six months).
- All female employees have the right to extend maternity leave for a period of one year and return to the same job or equivalent. The mothers who return to work are also entitled to return as part-time employees to help them meet the needs of the newborn.
- The company also offers another advantage in this regard, in addition to the maternity hour guaranteed by the labor law, all employees of Nestlé Egypt can work one day a week from home. The company also offers childcare support by providing a diverse set of discounts to childcare services at locations across the city. "

This announcement reinforces Nestlé’s full support for the World Health Organization’s (WHO) recommendation of exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life, followed by the introduction of adequate nutritious complementary foods along with sustained breastfeeding up to two years of age and beyond.

 قامت نستله مصر بتطبيق مبادرة بمد أجازة الوضع مدفوعة الأجر بالكامل إلى ستة أشهر بدلا من 3 أشهر بالإضافه الي الإجازات السنويه الإعتيادبه وغيرها المقررة قانونا, وذلك اعتبارا من نوفمبر الجاري كواحدة من حزمة المزايا التى ستقدمها الشركة لموظفاتها خلال الفترة القادمة.

تأتى هذه المبادرة تأكيدا على أهمية الرضاعة الطبيعية والتغذية الصحية في ال 1000يوم الأولى من حياة الطفل والتي تبدأ من الحمل وتستمر حتى نهاية السنة الثانية من عمر الطفل، وهى فترة هامة يتحدد خلالها المؤشرات الصحية المستقبليه للطفل.

وفى هذا السياق أوضح ياسر عبد الملك -رئيس مجلس الإدارة والرئيس التنفيذي لشركة نستله شمال شرق افريقيا " أن الشركة تؤكد من خلال هذه المبادرة على إلتزامها بالعمل على تحسين نوعية الحياة والمساهمة في مستقبل أكثر صحة للأسر المصرية وبالأخص الأطفال المصريين, ففي الوقت الذي ينص فيه قانون العمل على أن إجازة الوضع تكون مدفوعة الأجر لمدة ثلاثة أشهر فقط بالإضافة إلى أجازة غير مدفوعة الأجر لمدة ثلاثة أشهر أخرى، وتمشيا مع إحتفال الدولة بعام المرأة المصرية تفخر نستله مصر بأن تعلن عن منح الموظفات لديها ميزة استثنائية وذلك تأكيدا على أهمية قيام الأم برعاية الطفل فى هذه السن المبكرة, كما ندعو جميع الجهات والشركات لتعميم هذه المبادرة المهمة". 

حول حزمة المزايا التى تقدمها الشركة للموظفات لديها، قال عمرو صالح - رئيس قطاع الموارد البشريه فى نستله شمال شرق أفريقيا " أنه كجزء من سعي نستله الدائم لتكون شركه صديقة للأسرة, وتوفر مكان عمل يضمن تكافؤ الفرص والتنوع, تتبنى الشركة مبادرات تشمل الممبزات التالية للموظفات لديها:

-        تجهيز غرف للأمهات المرضعات من الموظفات فى جميع مواقع الشركة لتوفير بيئة آمنة ومريحة تساعدهن على الإستمرار فى توفير الرضاعة الطبيعية لأطفالهن لأطول فترة ممكنة حتى بعد رجوعهن للعمل بعد انتهاء اجازة الوضع(ستة أشهر).

-        يحق لجميع الموظفات مد إجازة الوضع وذلك لمدة عام والعودة إلى الوظيفه نفسها أو ما يعادلها كما يحق للأمهات العائدات إلى العمل العودة كموظفات بدوام جزئي لمساعدتهم على تلبية احتياجات المولود الجديد.

-       كما توفر الشركة أيضا ميزة أخرى فى هذا الصدد, فبالإضافة إلى ساعة الأمومة التي يضمنها قانون العمل، يمكن لجميع موظفات نستله مصر العمل يوم واحد في الأسبوع من المنزل. وتقدم الشركة أيضا الدعم لرعاية الأطفال من خلال توفير مجموعة متنوعة من الخصومات لخدمات رعاية الطفل في مواقع عديدة."

الجدير بالذكر أن هذه المبادرة تعزز دعم نستله الكامل لتوصيات منظمة الصحة العالمية بشأن الالتزام بالرضاعة الطبيعية بشكل كامل خلال الأشهر الستة الأولى من حياة الطفل، والتي يجب أن يعقبها تقديم الأغذية التكميلية التي تحتوي علي العناصر الغذائية اللازمة جنبا إلى جنب مع الرضاعة الطبيعية المتواصله حتى عمر سنتين علي الاقل.
