Exterior design: Self-assured sportiness in the style of Mercedes-Benz coupés



The exterior look of the new CLS can be described as elegant beauty, applying the brand’s sensual purity design language, while retaining typical Mercedes-Benz coupé design cues. With the Sporty exterior AMG design, the car is fitted with AMG front bumper with striking air intakes, a Diamond radiator grill with chrome pins and sporty 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels. The forward-slanting front end is reminiscent of a shark's nose, housing very flat and wide headlamps. Additional coupé features include the two-section tail lights, which have a crystalline appearance and create a three-dimensional effect, frameless side windows and the Mercedes star at the centre of the boot lid.

Interior: consistent colour scheme, Widescreen cockpit



The luxurious interior of the CLS Coupé impresses with its high-grade choice of materials showing a very high level of finish, in addition to its fully digital cockpit highlighted by 2 two 12.3inch displays. Three different styles can be selected depending on preference or mood, they include Classic, Sport and Progressive styles. The interior ambient lighting is individually adjustable in 64 colours, and also includes the air vents. The seats were designed exclusively for this model series and feature an 8 program massage function and heated/ventilated front seats. Also, the interior colors include black, grey, beige, brown and red/black nappa leather. To complement this lavish interior, the new CLS is equipped with the high end Burmester® surround sound system. Blessed with 13 high-performance speakers and acoustic features tailored specifically to the vehicle make, the system ensures an optimum listening experience in all driving situations.






Intelligent Drive: Technology from the S-Class



The CLS is equipped with the latest generation of driving assistance systems. As standard, it includes Active Brake Assist, ATTENTION ASSIST and the occupant protection system PRE-SAFE®. New and also part of the standard specification is PRE-SAFE® Sound, which prepares human hearing for the anticipated accident noise when there is a risk of a collision. Thanks to improved camera and radar systems, the new CLS also has an even better view of the surrounding traffic. A Head-up Display is also on-board which shows the driver key information on the windscreen. Items displayed can include speed, cruise control setting, incoming calls, audio information and assistance system messages. Last but not least the CLS provides its driver with maximum visibility, thanks to the ULTRA RANGE high beam of the equipped MULTIBEAM LED headlamps produces the maximum light intensity permitted by law, and visibility is further complemented by the active light function and automatically activated cornering lights.

New range of engines: With EQ Boost and 48 volt on-board electrical system



The CLS 350 which will be available at market launch delivers a comfortable high performance ride, which can be attributed to the DYNAMIC BODY CONTROL suspension, providing a sporty basic setup but also includes continuously adjustable damping. The selectable driving modes are Comfort, Sport and Sport+. Power comes from a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine making 299 hp and 400Nm. An extra 13 hp and 150Nm are available from the EQ Boost provided by the 48-volt on board electrical system. Not only does this engine deliver best in class performance, but it also delivers on both comfort and efficiency, thanks to the silent start and coasting with engine off functions. An advanced engine requires an advanced transmission system, the new Mercedes-Benz CLS 350 is equipped with a smooth shifting 9G-Tronic automatic transmission ensuring reduced fuel consumption and maximum driving comfort.

تتمتع السيارة CLS 350 التي تم إطلاقها في مصر بأداء مريح فائق الجودة بفضل نظام التعليق DYNAMIC BODY CONTROL والذي يوفر أداء رياضي سلس للسيارة مع قدرة دائمة على ضبط قوة الأداء. يتمتع المحرك أيضاً بثلاثة أوضاع للقيادة هي Comfort وSport وSport+. السيارة مزودة بمحرك قوي 2.0 لتر/ 4 سلندر، مع شاحن تربو. تبلغ قدرة المحرك 299 حصان و400 نيوتن متر. ويوفر نظام EQ Boost 13 حصان و150 نيوتن متر اضافية للمحرك من خلال نظام كهربائي 48 فولت. ولا يوفر المحرك الفائق أفضل مستويات الأداء للسيارة فقط، ولكنه يوفر لها أيضاً أعلى درجات الراحة وكفاءة التشغيل بفضل إمكانيات عديدة و من ضمنها خاصية التشغيل الصامت للمحرك و نظام سير السيارة بدون التشغيل الكامل للمحرك . ولأن هذا المحرك يتمتع بكفاءة عالية، فإنه يتطلب نظام متطور لنقل الحركة. ولهذا تم تزويد السيارة CLS350 بناقل حركة أوتوماتيكي سلس الأداء من طراز 9G-Tronic بما يضمن أقل استهلاك للوقود وأقصى راحة أثناء قيادة السياراة.     

During the Big Industrial Week in Cairo, Rosatom State Corporation will organize the Nuclear Industry Suppliers Forum for suppliers and contractors of El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant project

Main Forum events are scheduled for October 8, 2019. The Forum is organized by Rosatom State Corporation and the Nuclear Power Plants Authority of Egypt (NPPA) at the venue of the Big Industrial Week Global Industrial and Technical Exhibition and Forum. Business Event LLC (part of Formika Group) is the official operator of the Big Industrial Week.

Forum participants are expected to include top officials of the NPPA, Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division (ASE), which is the general design engineer and contractor of the first Egyptian nuclear power plant, and several foreign companies representing potential suppliers and contractors of the El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant project. Approximately 600 suppliers working in the nuclear power segment will take part in the event.

Forum participants will learn about current and pending tenders for Egypt's first nuclear power plant project, gain an understanding of Rosatom State Corporation procurement system, hold individual business meetings with representatives of the Russian nuclear energy sector involved in the project, and obtain information on participation in the construction of the El Dabaa facility.

روساتوم تعقد منتدى لموردي والمقاولي مشروع الضبعة على هامش الأسبوع الصناعي الكبير في القاهرة.

ستعقد الفعاليات الأساسية للمنتدى يوم 8 أكتوبر 2019، من قبل مؤسسة روساتوم الحكومية، وهيئة محطات الطاقة النووية المصرية، على أرض المعرض والمنتدى الصناعي والتكنولوجي الدولي "الأسبوع الصناعي الكبير". 

ومن المتوقع أن يشارك في المنتدى قيادات من هيئة محطات الطاقة النووية المصرية، ووزارة الكهرباء والطاقة المتجددة في مصر، والقسم الهندسي من مؤسسة روساتوم، المصمم والمقاول العام لأول محطة للطاقة النووية في البلاد، بالإضافة إلى عدد من الشركات الأجنبية - الموردين والمقاولين المحتملين لأنشاء مشروع محطة الضبعة النووية. كما سيشارك في هذا الحدث الكبير ما يقرب من 600 من الموردين العاملين بالطاقة النووية.

سيتمكن المشاركون في هذا الحدث من الحصول على معلومات حول المناقصات الحالية والمستقبيلة لمشروع محطة الضبعة النووية في مصر، والتعرف على نظام المشتريات التابع لمؤسسة روساتوم الحكومية، وعقد اجتماعات عمل فردية مع ممثلي المؤسسات النووية الروسية المشاركة في المشروع، وكذلك تلقي إجابات على أسئلة حول المشاركة في بناء المحطة.

NYU Abu Dhabi researchers discover causes of Arabian Sea dead zone expansion

Abu Dhabi, UAE – June 16, 2019: A recent study conducted at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) has shown that the rapid warming of the Arabian Gulf could cause the intensification and expansion of the Arabian Sea dead zone, bringing the oxygen-depleted waters closer to the UAE’s shores.




The research was led by senior scientist at NYUAD’s Center for Prototype Climate Modeling (CPCM) Zouhair Lachkar, and co-authored by NYU Professor of Mathematics, Atmosphere, and Ocean Science K. Shafer Smith and Deputy Director at the Institute of Research for Development Marina Levy.




Researchers used computer modeling and simulation to show that the warming of the Arabian Gulf results in the deoxygenation and loss of bioavailable nitrogen in the Arabian Sea. This can potentially reduce marine habitat for species intolerant to hypoxic conditions and limit the growth of phytoplankton in the North Indian Ocean.




The oxygen-saturated waters of the Arabian Gulf sink to intermediate depths (200‐300m) ventilating the world's thickest Oxygen Minimum Zone (OMZ). Becoming more buoyant, the warmer Gulf waters are less prone to do so.




The warming of the Arabian Gulf is predicted to continue in the future, causing the intensification of the dead zone due to its lack of ventilation. Humans can take part in reducing the ocean’s deoxygenation and halt the expansion of the dead zone through working to reduce CO2 emissions.




"As marginal seas like the Arabian Gulf are not well represented in global climate models, our study is the first to show that local temperature changes in a semi-enclosed sea, like the Arabian Gulf, can have important consequences for oxygen and marine habitats not only locally but also for ecosystems thousands of kilometers away. Our findings, therefore, imply that temperature changes can lead to biases in global climate models at a scale much larger than the scale of the semi-enclosed seas themselves,” said Lachkar.




The current study contributes to Lachkar’s previously conducted research, which questions the reason behind the expansion of the Arabian Sea dead zone.

ستعقد النسخة الثانية من حفلات صيف مالطا (ٍSummer Daze Malta) في الفترة من 11 إلى 17 أغسطس المقبل عبر عدة مواقع على جزيرة مالطا. خلفاً لنجاح النسخة الأولى من المهرجان في العام الماضي، يسعى المنظمون لوضع علامة مرة أخرى بتشكيلة مبهرة من الفنانين المحليين والدوليين.

تحت رعاية كريمفيلدز وراديو بي بي سي، تبدأ الإحتفالات في اليوم الحادي عشر من الشهر بعرض من فرقة ذا مارتينيز برذرز وفرقة غرينغوز المعروفة محلياً.

وسيعقد الحدث الرئيسي في 14 و15 من الشهر في حديقة تا كالي الوطنية، مع عروض ضخمة من نخبة من النجوم الدوليين مثل تايغا وديفيد غيتا وجيمس أرثر.

For the First Time in Egypt, Mall of Arabia Hosts CIB Professional Squash Association World Tour Finals

The Park is the first-of-a kind eight-acre outdoor park located within Mall of Arabia designed to host a wide variety of activities based on four main pillars that cater to the various needs of all members of the family: entertainment, fitness, F&B and sports.

The Finals feature world’s top eight male and female players, many of whom are Egyptian over a six-day tournament. Egyptian World No.1s Ali Farag and Raneem El Welily were the No.1 seeds in the men’s and women’s events, respectively, and both were crowned the 2018/19 PSA Players of the Year at the annual PSA Awards dinner the evening before the tour finals began. Both were also awarded the men’s and women’s PSA Spirit of Squash Awards. The award is voted for by PSA players and is presented to the players who best demonstrated true sportsmanship during the season.

مول العرب يستضيف نهائيات بطولة CIB PSAالعالمية للإسكواش والتي تُقام في مصر لأول مرة

القاهرة في 15 يونيو 2019- وقع اختيار الاتحاد العالمي لمحترفي الاسكواش على مول العرب، أكبر المولات التجارية لشركة مراكز ووجهة التسوق المفضلة بمنطقة غرب القاهرة، لاستضافة نهائيات بطولة CIB PSAالعالمية للإسكواش في ختام موسم 2018/2019. أقيمت البطولة في الفترة من 9 حتى 14 يونيو على ملعب زجاجي خاص أقيم خصيصاً للبطولة في البارك The Park بالمرحلة الثانية من مول العرب "التوسع"The Expansion. هذا وقد شهد الملعب الذي ضم أكثر من 1000 مقعد، اقامة المباريات النهائية للبطولة يوم الجمعة 14 يونيو حيث تم تتويج كل من رنيم الوليلي وكريم عبد الجواد كأبطال لهذه البطولة. يُعد البارك The Park أول منطقة مفتوحة من نوعها داخل المولات التجارية في مصر، ويشغل مساحة 8 أفدنة، وتم تصميمه ليضم باقة متنوعة من الأنشطة التي تلبي كافة احتياجات أفراد الأسرة، بما في ذلك الترفيه واللياقة البدنية والأغذية والمشروبات والرياضة.

شارك في البطولة العالمية التي استمرت على مدار 6 أيام، أفضل 8 لاعبات ولاعبين دوليين محترفين في الإسكواش على مستوى العالم طبقاً لتصنيف الاتحاد الدولي للإسكواش، بما في ذلك أفضل اللاعبين المصريين ومنهم على فرج ورنيم الوليلي، المصنفان في المركز الأولى على مستوى العالم في هذه اللعبة. حصل علي ورنيم على جائزة أفضل لاعب ولاعبة اسكواش في العالم لموسم 2018/2019 خلال مراسم توزيع الجوائز السنوية للاتحاد الدولي للإسكواش عشية انطلاق نهائيات بطولة CIB PSAللإسكواش. كما حصل علي ورنيم أيضاً على جائزة الروح الرياضية في الإسكواش من نفس الإتحاد، وهي جائزة تُقدم للاعب الذي يُظهر أفضل روح رياضية على مدار الموسم. قام بالتصويت على الجائزة اللاعبون المحترفون بالاتحاد الدولي للإسكواش.
