First hotel in Ajman to receive the certification
Ajman, UAE, (November 29, 2015) – Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman receives the prestigious Green Globe certification, following a comprehensive audit carried out by Farnek Middle East. The property is the first hotel in the Ajman to secure the certification, which is the result of its creative approach to sustainable management. Ramada Ajman is the first in the UAE to launch a compost project for hotels, and also engages an energy-saving scheme, and a variety of awareness campaigns highlighting sustainability.
The hotel is already recognised for its leadership in UAE having utilized its on-site food composter to pursue a Zero Landfill target. This initiative has also led to the creation an urban farm growing local seasonal crops and vegetables used daily by the hotel kitchen.
Ramada Ajman gained a strong reputation as a sustainability ambassador in Ajman, coordinating an environmental drawing competition in 2013 reaching out to 2,500 students and their families.
Along with the Zero Landfill target some of the sustainable practices incorporated in the daily operations of the 388-roomproperty include recycling of waste material including paper, bottles, cans and glass, cost-effective measures to reduce water and electricity consumption in the guest rooms and offices, and regular training of staff to help spread awareness among the guests and community.
The certification was officially presented by Sandrine Le Biavant, Director of Consultancy of Farnek Middle East, Green Globe’s preferred partner in the region which provides consultancy and auditing on behalf of the organisation.

رمادا عجمان نال شهادة العالم الأخضر
ليكون أول فندق يستلم هذه الشهادة في عجمان
عجمان، الإمارات العربية المتحدة (29 نوفمبر 2015): استلم فندق وأجنحة رمادا شهادة العالم الأخضر، عقب تدقيق شامل أجرته شركة فارنك الشرق الأوسط، ليكون بذلك أول فندق في عجمان يحصل على هذه الشهادة نتيجة مقاربته المبتكرة في الإدارة المستدامة. ويعتبر رمادا عجمان أول فندق في الإمارات يطلق مشروع تسميد للفنادق ويطلق مخططاً للحفاظ على الطاقة بالإضافة إلى مجموعة من حملات التوعية حول الاستدامة.
ورمادا عجمان معروف أنه رائد في الإمارات العربية المتحدة في استخدام السماد المصنوع من الطعام في الموقع لتحقيق هدف "صفر نفايات". كما وأدّت المبادرة إلى إنشاء مزرعة في المدينة لزراعة محاصيل وخضار موسمية محلية تُستخدَم يومياً في مطبخ الفندق.
واكتسب فندق رمادا عجمان سمعةً قويةً كسفير الاستدامة في عجمان، بحيث أنه قام بتنسيق مسابقة رسم من وحي البيئة في العام 2013 شملت 2,500 طالب وعائلاتهم.
وإلى جانب هدف "صفر نفايات"، تشمل بعض الممارسات المستدامة المسجلة في العمليات اليومية للفندق الذي يضم 388 غرفةً إعادة تدوير النفايات، بما فيها، الورق، والزجاج، والكؤوس والعُلَب، وتدابير فعّالة وغير مكلفة للتقليل من استهلاك الكهرباء والمياه في غرف الضيوف والمكاتب، بالإضافة إلى تدريب منتظم للموظفين بما يساعد على نشر الوعي بين الضيوف وفي المجتمع.
وفي هذه المناسبة، قدّمت الشهادة رسمياً ساندرين لوبيافان، مدير الشؤون الاستشارية لشركة فارنك الشرق الأوسط، الشريك المفضّل للعالم الأخضر في المنطقة، الذي يقدم استشاراتٍ وتدقيقاً بالنيابة على المنظمة.
وبدوره، صرّح افتخار حمداني، المدير العام لفندق وأجنحة رمادا عجمان: "إن شهادة العالم الأخضر هي شهادة إضافية على التزامنا المتواصل في الاستدامة من خلال نظامنا الفعال لإدارة النفايات، وممارسات حفظ الطاقة والمياه، وحملات التوعية ضمن فريقنا في صناعة الضيافة. كما احتاج الفندق لسنة لإعداد التدقيق وتحقيق المعايير العليا التي وضعها العالم الأخضر للتأكد من أننا على المسار الصحيح. وأود أن أشيد بكافة الجهود التي بذلها الفريق بما أننا تمكنّا أخيراً من ضمان هذه الشهادة".
أما لوبيافان، شركة فارنك الشرق الأوسط، فقالت: "يسرنا ان نرحّب بفندق وأجنحة رمادا على القائمة المتنامية للفنادق الحائزة على شهادة العالم الأخضر في الإمارات العربية المتحدة. وقد أصبح الفندق سفيراً للاستدامة في مجال السياحة والضيافة في عجمان والإمارات الشمالية ونحن متفائلون بشأن المزيد من الأفكار في المستقبل".
