حصلت الشركة العربية للأسمنت، إحدى الشركات الرائدة في إنتاج الأسمنت في السوق المصري، على جائزة الوقود البديل للاستخدام الفعال والمستدام لأنواع الوقود البديل من شركة MVW Lechtenberg، إحدى الشركات الاستشارية الرائدة عالمياً في مجال الوقود البديل والعاملة في مجال الاستشارات للحد من أثار الكربون عبر الصناعات. تم تقديم الجائزة المرموقة للشركة العربية للأسمنت خلال المنتدى السادس للوقود البديل الذي عقد في ألمانيا في سبتمبر.

BIOS Middle East puts the spotlight on Multi-Cloud during GITEX 2019

BIOS Middle East will be participating at the week-long technology trade show with Cisco, highlighting the benefits of Multi-Cloud environments.

Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Sharjah participates in UAE Maritime Week 2019

Strengthening partnership between the academic sector and maritime industry

Dubai, 24th September 2019: As part of its strategy to consolidate partnership between the academic sector and maritime industry, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) – Sharjah Branch participates in the UAE Maritime Week 2019, which was held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, from 22 to 26 September 2019. AASTMT is represented by Dr. Hisham Afifi, Advisor to the President of the Academy and in charge of Khorfakkan’s branch, the Maritime College and Dr. Ahmed Youssef, Deputy Dean of the College of Maritime Transport and Technology.




Partnership between the academic and marine sectors

Dr. Afifi said, “The UAE is an advanced global shipping hub with over AED280 billion in maritime businesses. It hosts dozens of international maritime companies and boasts 19 ports, some of which are ranked first globally. That’s why; the maritime sector needs a lot of support from maritime academic institutions, especially to supply the market with qualified young Emirati professionals, and to test renewal of the maritime passports for seafarers."

Quality Seminars

Commenting on the AASTMT’s participation in the UAE Maritime Week 2019, Dr. Youssef said, “Our participation featured two workshops; the first discussed future prospects for adopting technology to help maritime crews and using robots within their operations. The second workshop was part of the activities of the Arab Women in Maritime Association (AWIMA) where we presented the great prospects the Academy offers in women's education and empowerment in the maritime industry. I would like to point out that a large number of the Academy’s current students are females. This high demand from female students for marine education is a positive indicator of women's partnership in this key component of the national economic sectors. "




Academy's Stand at Seatrade ShipTech

AASTMT’s team will be also available at the Seatrade ShipTech exhibition. The stand will show the specialties it will provide in Sharjah. The Faculty of Maritime Transport will start its first academic year 2019-2020 with two specialisations; Maritime Transport, which offers a bachelor's degree in Maritime Transport and graduates become permanent maritime officers. The second specialisation is marine engineering, where the graduate receives a bachelor's in Marine Engineering Technology and becomes a third marine engineer. AASTMT also seeks to attract professionals working in maritime companies in the UAE who wish to take specialised training courses as part of its professional development and continuing education programmes. AASTMT provides maritime passport renewal, and cooperates with the training departments of shipping companies to design specialised training programmes in various maritime technical and administrative areas, benefitting from the Academy’s state-of-the-art simulators.




Integrated educational campus

AASTMT’s new branch in Sharjah is a grant by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who will bear the costs of its construction and equipment at a cost of one billion dirhams on an area of ​​200,000 square meters. The Academy will grant students a Bachelor's degree in Applied and Theoretical Sciences and Maritime Transport, a Certificate of Competence in the Maritime Transport, a Second Officer Certificate in Maritime Technology, Marine Safety Technology, Environmental Protection, Shipping and Port Management, a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering Technology, a Certificate of Competency for Third Engineer Officer, a Bachelor’s in Marine Electrical Engineering and Certified Electrostatic Technician.




The college will play a pivotal role in bridging the shortage of Emirati professionals in the local and regional markets, in addition to contributing to promoting the UAE's position as one of the key global marine hubs not only in terms of marine infrastructure and facilities, but also as a scientific centre for the industry’s latest research, development and innovation.

دبي_ 24 سبتمبر – 2019: ضمن استراتيجيتها لتكريس الشراكة بين القطاع الأكاديمي والصناعة البحرية؛ تشارك الأكاديمية العربية للعلوم والتكنولوجيا والنقل البحري في الشارقة في "أسبوع الإمارات البحري 2019" والذي يقام تحت رعاية من سمو الشيخ حمدان بن محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم ولي عهد دبي رئيس المجلس التنفيذي في الفترة بين 22 و26 سبتمبر الجاري. ويمثل الأكاديمية في أسبوع الإمارات الملاحي 2019 كل من الدكتور هشام عفيفي، مستشار رئيس الأكاديمية والمسؤول عن فرع الأكاديمية في خورفكان، الكلية البحرية، وكذلك الدكتور أحمد يوسف، عميد الكلية البحرية بالإنابة. 

الشراكة بين القطاع الأكاديمي والبحري

وبهذه المناسبة صرح الدكتور هشام عفيفي، مستشار رئيس الأكاديمية والمسؤول عن فرع الأكاديمية في خور فكان، قائلاً: "تعتبر الإمارات مركزاً ملاحياً دولياً متطوراً، تزيد فيه حجم الأعمال البحرية على 280 مليار درهم إماراتي، وتستضيف العشرات من الشركات البحرية الدولية، كما تضم أكثر من 19 ميناء، يحتل بعضها مراتب أولى عالمياً؛ من أجل ذلك فإن القطاع البحري يحتاج إلى دعم كبير من المؤسسات البحرية الأكاديمية، لاسيما في مجال ردف السوق بالخبرات والكوادر المهنية المؤهلة من شباب الإمارات المواطنين، واختبار تجديد جواز السفر البحري للمحترفين والمهنيين العاملين في البحر".

وأضاف عفيفي: "تأتي مشاركتنا في أسبوع الإمارات الملاحي 2019 في وقت غاية في الأهمية بالنسبة لنا ونحن على وشك إطلاق الافتتاح الرسمي للأكاديمية في السابع من شهر أكتوبر القادم، والذي سيعقد في مقر الأكاديمية في خور فكان برعاية وحضور صاحب السمو الشيخ سلطان بن محمد القاسمي، عضو المجلس الأعلى حاكم الشارقة، وعدد من القيادات البحرية الوطنية والدولية المتواجدين في الدولة. ونتطلع إلى بناء شراكة حقيقية بين القطاع الأكاديمية الوطني والصناعة البحرية، لنساهم في مجال البحث والتطوير وإعداد الدراسات التقنية والإدارية لمساعدة الشركات على تحقيق المزيد من النمو والتوسع في نوعية منتجاتها وربحية أعمالها".

ندوات نوعية

حول مشاركة الأكاديمية في أسبوع الإمارات الملاحي 2019، أوضح الدكتور أحمد يوسف، عميد الكلية البحرية بالإنابة، قائلاً: "تمثلت مشاركتنا في ورشتي عمل، حيث تناولت الورشة الأولى الآفاق المستقبلية لتبني التكنولوجيا في مجال الطواقم البحري واستخدام الروبوتات ضمن أعمالها، أما الورشة الثانية فكانت ضمن أنشطة رابطة المرأة العربية في القطاع البحري، والتي عرضنا فيها الآفاق الكبيرة التي توفرها الأكاديمية في مجال تعليم المرأة وتمكينها في الصناعة البحرية، وننوه هنا إلى أن أعداداً كبيرة من الطلبة الذين تم قبولهم حالياً في الأكاديمية هم من الفتيات، ويعد هذا الإقبال من قبل العنصر النسائي على التعليم البحري المعني مؤشراً إيجابياً على شراكة المرأة في هذا المكون الهام من قطاعات الاقتصاد الوطني للدولة".

منصة الأكاديمية في معرض "سيتريد شيبتك"

وسيتواجد فريق الأكاديمية ضمن معرض سيتريد البحري، حيث ستعرض الأكاديمية في منصتها التخصصات التي توفرها في الشارقة، حيث ستبدأ الكلية البحرية عامها الدراسي الأول هذا العام 2019-2020 بتخصصين هما: الملاحة البحرية الذي يؤهل الخريج؛ للحصول على بكالوريوس في الملاحة البحرية، ليصبح ضابط بحرية دائماً، والقسم الثاني وهو قسم الهندسة البحرية ويحصل الخريج على درجة بكالوريوس في الهندسة البحرية ويتخرج مهندس ثالث بحري، كما تسعى الأكاديمية إلى استقطاب الكوادر المهنية العاملة في الشركات الملاحية في الدولة والذين يرغبون في الحصول على برامج تدريبية متخصصة ضمن خدمات التطوير المهني والتعليم المستمر الذي توفره الهيئة، إضافة إلى عرض خدمة تجديد جواز السفر البحري، والتعاون مع إدارات التدريب في الشركات الملاحية لتصميم برامج تدريبية خاصة في مختلف المجالات الفنية والإدارية البحرية، واستعراض أجهزة المحاكاة المتطورة التي تمتلكها الأكاديمية.

صرح تعليمي متكامل

بافتتاح فرع الأكاديمية العربية للعلوم والتكنولوجيا والنقل البحري في الشارقة، ينضم هذا الصرح الأكاديمي الجديد إلى مكرمات صاحب السمو الشيخ الدكتور سلطان بن محمد القاسمي عضو المجلس الأعلى، حاكم الشارقة، والذي تكفل بإنشائها وتجهيزها بكل احتياجاتها، بكلفة مليار درهم، ومساحة 200 ألف متر مربع. وحيث إن الأكاديمية ستمنح الطلبة درجة البكالوريوس في العلوم التطبيقية والنظرية والنقل البحري وشهادة الكفاءة في تخصصات بكالوريوس النقل البحري وشهادة ضابط ثان في تخصصات تكنولوجيا النقل البحري وتكنولوجيا السلامة البحرية وحماية البيئة والشحن وإدارة الموانئ، إضافة إلى بكالوريوس تكنولوجيا الهندسة البحرية وشهادة كفاءة مهندس ثالث وبكالوريوس تكنولوجيا كهرباء بحرية وشهادة كفاءة فني تكنولوجيا كهرباء.

Epson to display innovative technologies at GITEX Technology Week 2019

A stand-out feature of this year’s Epson stand is a 180-degree shared virtual reality (VR) projection space, housed inside a custom created structure, providing an immersive projection experience. ويمكن للزوار في القسم المخصص للتعليم على منصة إبسون التفاعل مع روبوت إبسون SCARAT3-401S الذي يؤدي نشاطات مذهلة في تثبيت الدارات الإلكترونية والمقاومات الكهربائية ويستخدم في مجالات صناعية مختلفة مثل تجميع قطع المركبات وتركيب المعدات الطبية، كما تعمل إبسون مع العديد من المؤسسات التعليمية لتسهيل عملية البحث في مجال الروبوتيات.

New York, USA, 23 September 2019 – The World Economic Forum is establishing a Closing the Gender Gap Accelerator in Egypt to increase the number of women in the labour market, promote more women into economic leadership positions, close wage gaps and ensure that women have the skills demanded by the future of work and the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Applying a model of public-private collaboration on workplace gender parity developed by the Forum, Egypt is the latest country committing to action alongside eight other governments that have adopted the model. The Gender Gap Accelerator will be led by government ministers and chief executive officers in the country to take proactive action to advance women’s economic empowerment.

While more women than men are now enrolled in university, women represent only a little over a third of professional and technical workers in Egypt. Women who are in the workforce are also less likely to be paid the same as their male colleagues for equivalent work or to reach senior management roles. Egypt currently ranks 139 out of 149 countries on the economic participation and opportunity gender gap, according to the Global Gender Gap Report 2018.

The Gender Gap Accelerator is designed to identify key economic gender gaps, develop public- and private-sector interventions for narrowing these gaps, and commit relevant stakeholders from both sectors to a three-year action plan. Central to this effort will be engaging companies on the strong business case for advancing gender parity in their workforces and taking action on women’s participation, skills, wages and leadership, while the government drives new policies and initiatives and tracks progress.

Egypt is the first country in the Middle East and North Africa to launch this public-private collaboration model supported by the World Economic Forum’s platform.

“Egypt has made tremendous investments in its human capital foundation by expanding women’s higher education in recent years. The accelerator will support local efforts to unleash the full potential of women in the Egyptian economy,” said Saadia Zahidi, Managing Director and Head of the Centre for the New Economy and Society at the World Economic Forum. “The World Economic Forum is delighted Egypt will be the first country from the region to join the global network of Closing the Gender Gap Accelerators.”

Rania Al-Mashat, Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, said: “At Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism, implementing policies that enable the UN SDGs [Sustainable Development Goals] is the essence of the Egypt – Tourism Reform Program (E–TRP), which aims to create a sustainable tourism sector through adopting structural reforms that strengthen the sector’s competitiveness and are in line with international standards. Moreover, Gender Equality, SDG5, has been pushed by the National Council of Women through the Women’s Strategy-2030 adopted in 2017 which confirms Egypt’s commitment to empower Egyptian women as key players in the process of sustainable development.”

Al-Mashat added: “Today, Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism together with National Council of Women and the World Economic Forum launch the Egypt Gender Gap accelerator that will bring together multi-stakeholder actors across the public and private sectors to generate local insight, develop local needs-based action plans and drive their execution. Leveraging on the Forum’s global platform and the cross-cutting nature of Egypt’s tourism sector, being interlinked with more than 80 other industries and 98% privately led, the accelerator will indeed help expedite the implementation of SDG5 across sectors in Egypt.”

The Sustainable Development Impact Summit takes place in New York, 23-24 September. This year’s meeting will convene more than 800 regional and global leaders from government, business, civil society and academia. The meeting will explore four themes: transforming markets, accelerating climate action, financing sustainable development and mobilizing action for inclusive societies.

نيويورك، الولايات المتحدة الأميركية، 24 سبتمبر 2019 – يعمل المنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي على تنفيذ مشروع "مسرّع سد الفجوة بين الجنسين" وذلك بهدف زيادة مشاركة المرأة في سوق العمل، وتشجيع المزيد من النساء على تقلد مناصب قيادية اقتصادية، وسد الفجوات في الأجور، إلى ضمان حصول النساء على المهارات اللازمة لمستقبل العمل وخصوصاً في ظل الثورة الصناعية الرابعة.

وتنضم مصر -التي تعدّ أحدث الدول التزاماً- إلى ثماني دول أخرى تطبق هذا النموذج الذي يعزز التعاون بين القطاعين الحكومي والخاص في مجال التكافؤ بين الجنسين في مكان العمل، والذي تم تطويره من قبل المنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي. وسيطبق هذا المشروع بجهود وزراء الحكومة المصرية والمسؤولين في مصر لاتخاذ إجراءات استباقية للنهوض بالتمكين الاقتصادي للمرأة.

وعلى الرغم من أن أعداد النساء المقيدات في التعليم العالي الآن أكثر من الرجال، إلا أن عدد النساء العاملات لا يتجاوز ثلث العاملين سواء في المجالات المهنية او الفنية في مصر. هذا وتقلّ احتمالات حصول النساء العاملات على نفس أجر زملائهن الذكور مقابل عمل مماثل أو فرصة وصولهن إلى مستويات الإدارة العليا.

وتحتل مصر حالياً المرتبة 139 من بين 149 دولة في تقرير الفجوة بين الجنسين سواء في الفرص أو المشاركة الاقتصادية، وذلك وفقاً للمؤشر العالمي للفجوة بين الجنسين 2018 التابع للمنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي. 

لقد تم تصميم هذا المشروع لتحديد الفجوات الاقتصادية الرئيسية بين الجنسين، وتحديد دور القطاعين العام والخاص لسدّ هذه الفجوات، إلى جانب إلزام الجهات ذات الصلة في القطاعين بوضع خطة عمل لمدة ثلاث سنوات. وسيكون من الأمور المحورية في هذا المشروع دفع الشركات الكبرى للعمل على تعزيز المساواة بين الجنسين ضمن القوى العاملة لديها، واتخاذ إجراءات لتمكين المرأة من تقلد المناصب القيادية وتنمية مهاراتها، ورفع أجورها وإمكاناتها القيادية، بينما تقوم الحكومة بصياغة سياسات، وتنفيذ ومتابعة مبادرات جديدة من شأنها متابعة التقدم الذي يتم إحرازه. 

هذا وتعتبر مصر أول دولة في الشرق الأوسط وإفريقيا تنضم إلى هذا المشروع وتطبّق هذا النموذج للتعاون بين القطاعين العام والخاص بدعم من المنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي.

وقالت سعدية زهيدي عضو مجلس الإدارة، ورئيس مركز الاقتصاد والمجتمع الجديد لدى المنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي: "لقد قامت مصر باستثمارات هائلة في بناء رأس المال البشري من خلال زيادة إلحاق المرأة بالتعليم العالي في السنوات الأخيرة، وإن مشروع مسرّع سدّ الفجوة بين الجنسين سيدعم الجهود المحلية لإطلاق الامكانات الكاملة للمرأة في الاقتصاد المصري." وأضافت: "يسعد المنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي بأن تكون مصر أول دولة في المنطقة تنضم الى هذا الشبكة العالمية لسدّ الفجوة بين الجنسين." 

ومن جانبها أشارت الدكتورة رانيا المشاط وزيرة السياحة المصرية، وعضو مجتمع القيادات العالمية الشابة التابع للمنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي، إلى إطلاق وزارة السياحة المصرية لبرنامج الإصلاح الهيكلي لتطوير قطاع السياحة، والذي يتبنى تطبيق الأهداف السبعة عشر للتنمية المستدامة للأمم المتحدة، وترتكز رؤيته على تحقيق تنمية سياحية مستدامة من خلال صياغة وتنفيذ إصلاحات هيكلية تهدف الى رفع القدرة التنافسية للقطاع، وتتماشى مع الاتجاهات العالمية.

وقالت وزيرة السياحة المصرية: " أن الهدف رقم 5 من أهداف الأمم المتحدة للتنمية المستدامة يرتكز على المساواة بين الجنسين، وهذا الهدف يتبناه المجلس القومي للمرأة، من خلال الاستراتيجية الوطنية لتمكين المرأة المصرية 2030 والتي تم اطلاقها في 2017، والتي تؤكد على التزام مصر بتمكين المرأة المصرية لتكون شريكاً أساسياً وفعالاً في استراتيجية التنمية المستدامة."

وأضافت الدكتورة رانيا المشاط: "تقوم وزارة السياحة المصرية اليوم بالتعاون مع المجلس القومي للمرأة والمنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي بإطلاق مشروع مسرّع سدّ الفجوة بين الجنسين في مصر Egypt Gender and Skills Accelerator لدفع التعاون بين الأطراف ذات الصلة في القطاعين الحكومي والخاص لخلق رؤية محلية ورفع الوعي بأهمية سدّ الفجوات بين الجنسين في العمل، ووضع خطط عمل لتنفيذ ذلك". 

وأكدت الوزيرة على أنه من خلال التعاون مع منتدى الاقتصاد العالمي، بوصفه منصة دولية، ونظراً إلى أن أكثر من 80 صناعة ترتبط بقطاع السياحة المصري، ويمثله القطاع الخاص بنسبة 98%. هذا وسيساهم هذا المشروع في تنفيذ الهدف الخامس من أهداف التنمية المستدامة للأمم المتحدة وهو تحقيق المساواة بين الجنسين وتمكين النساء عبر القطاعات المختلفة في مصر.

عُقدت قمة تأثير التنمية المستدامة التابعة للمنتدى الاقتصادي العالمي في نيويورك يومي 23 و24 سبتمبر الجاري، وشارك فيها أكثر من 800 من القادة الاقليميين والدوليين من المنظمات الحكومية ورجال الاعمال والمجتمع المدني والأكاديميين، وستناقش القمة أربعة موضوعات رئيسية وهي الأسواق المتغيرة، وتسريع العمل بخطة المناخ، وتمويل خطط التنمية المستدامة، والتعبئة الاجتماعية للوصول إلى مجتمعات أكثر شمولاً.

ومن أبرز الرؤساء المشاركين في قمة تأثير التنمية المستدامة 2019 سبستيان بينير رئيس تشيلي، ومارك روته رئيس وزراء هولندا، والسيد جاسبر بوردين الرئيس التنفيذي ورئيس مجموعة إنكا (ايكيا، مراكز إنكا، إنكا للاستثمار)، والسيد ميلاتي ويسن مؤسس شركة Bye Bye Plastic Bags.
