Health benefits of breastfeeding

 Breast milk protects your baby from infections and diseases right into adulthood.

 Breastfeeding can build a strong emotional bond between you and your baby.

 Breastfeeding helps reduce the babies’ risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS),

cardiovascular diseases (in adulthood), obesity and diabetes.

 Breastfeeding also lowers the mothers’ risk of breast cancer, ovarian cancer,

osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease and obesity.

Tips for breastfeeding

 Keep your baby with you after the birth as it will promote a feeling of closeness and a

strong hormonal response that is linked with breastfeeding success.

 Get your position and attachment right, as the first few days after the birth offer the

best opportunity for you and your baby to learn to breastfeed.

 Feed the baby on demand and according to need as frequent and effective feeding will

help you to make enough milk for your baby.

 Avoid complementary feeds because if the baby has fluids other than breast milk, they

will breastfeed less, and your breast milk supply will decrease.

Common misconceptions about breastfeeding

 Breastfeeding hurts: Breastfeeding is a natural way to feed a baby, and it should not

hurt. If you experience pain in your breasts or nipples, it's usually because your baby is

not positioned or attached correctly.

 Formula milk is the same as breast milk: All formula milk is made from cows' milk,

containing bacteria. Which means it does not protect your baby from infections and

diseases as breast milk does.

 Breastfeeding will make breasts sag: Breastfeeding does not cause sagging of breasts,

but pregnancy hormones can stretch the ligaments that support your breasts.



Babies do not need breast milk once they start solid foods: Breastfeeding has lots of

benefits for the mother and baby even after 6 months. It protects them from infections

and helps them digest solid foods.

Lastly, Dr. Basema recommends mothers to maintain a healthy and well-balanced diet that

includes eating from all 5 food groups. She advises mothers to get 5 servings of milk or dairy

products each day. For those mothers who don’t eat meat or dairy, they can opt for other high

calcium food items. Certain food can bother the baby, so one must pay attention to what they

eat and how their baby acts after feedings.

 الرضاعة الطبيعية ستجعل ثديي يتدلي: الرضاعة الطبيعية لا تتسبب في ترهل ثدييك ، لكن

هرمونات الحمل يمكن أن تمد الأربطة التي تدعم ثدييك. ارتدي حمالة صدر مناسبة أثناء الحمل

للحد من هذه المشكلة.

 الحليب الصناعي هو في الأساس حليب الأم في الحقيقة: معظم الحليب الاصطناعي مصنوع من

حليب البقر. يمكن أن تحتوي على البكتيريا ، ولهذا السبب من الضروري تعويضها بالماء

Seven Tides appoints main contractor for largest residential development in the region, Seven City JLT

UAE-headquartered upscale residential, hospitality and commercial property developer

Seven Tides has appointed UAE-based Airolink as the main building contractor, to

complete the construction of its Seven City JLT development in Jumeirah Lake Towers,

in Dubai.

Airolink was founded in Ireland in 2001 and expanded into the Middle East in 2008, with

offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The company has worked on many prestigious projects

over the past twelve years in the educational, commercial, retail, residential and hotel

sectors.

Commenting on the appointment, Abdulla Bin Sulayem, CEO, Seven Tides, said:

“Airolink is well established, has a solid reputation along with a wealth of experience

across numerous sectors, which is ideal for this development. Work is well underway on

site and we are already working with Airolink at our Seven Palm development on Palm

Jumeirah, so this should be a smooth transition.”

The project is valued at over AED 1 billion and due for completion in Q2 2023, Seven

City JLT with a total built up area of up to 3.5 million square feet and situated within

Cluster Z in DMCC, opposite the Montgomery and Emirates’ golf courses and the

Emirates Hills community.

With easy access by road and also close to the Dubai Metro, the development is made

up of 2,744 units – with its residential element consisting of 2,617 studio, one, two and

three-bedroom apartments, plus 78 hotel rooms.

The striking design sits upon a common podium, which plays host to promenade

restaurants overlooking a lake. The tower also features a fully equipped gym, health

club, infinity pool, children’s pool, 12 Sky Gardens, cafes, plus other dining options.

The development also features a large retail offering with 49 retail units, covering

150,000 sqft over three floors, which will include a 3-screen cinema, hypermarket, as

well as 2,617 car parking spaces, with an additional 312 spaces dedicated to retail

customers, including valet.

At the initial launch of the project, phase one of the residential units was completely sold

out in less than a week and the remaining units will be offered to the market in due

course.

“We are offering excellent value at a competitive price point. In addition, we offer a very

attractive easy payment option consisting of a 5% deposit, followed by payments equal

to 6% of the cost price to be paid every subsequent quarter. We estimate that studios

should yield 12% per annum,” said Bin Sulayem.

Studio apartments start from AED 384,888, ranging in size from 384sqft to 416sqft,

while one-bedroom apartments start at AED 723,888 and range in size from a minimum

of 734sqft to a maximum of 890sqft. Prices of two-bedroom apartments start at AED

1,106,888 and the size is 1,073sqft. Finally, the entry price for three-bedroom

apartments starts at AED 1,677,888, covering 1,516sqft of space.

Bin Sulayem, added: “Seven City JLT is designed to provide everything a resident might

possibly want, with various retail options, entertainment, food and beverage outlets,

gym and a health club. However, when residents do venture outside, they’ll still be able

to enjoy the urban vibe, with the excitement and fast-paced, hustle and bustle of city life,

right on their doorstep.”

أعلنت شركة سيفن تايدز الرائدة في تطوير المشاريع الفندقية والسكنية والتجارية الفاخرة في دولة الإمارات

العربية المتحدة، عن تعيين شركة "إيرولينك" التي تتخذ من دولة الإمارات مقراً لها مقاولاً رئيسياً

لمشروعها السكني سيفن سيتي أبراج بحيرات جميرا الواقع في منطقة أبراج بحيرات جميرا في دبي.

تأسست شركة إيرولينك في أيرلندا في عام 2001، قبل أن تبدأ أعمالها في منطقة الشرق الأوسط عام

2008 عبر مكاتبها في كل من دبي وأبوظبي. على مدار اثني عشر عاماً، حظيت الشركة بمكانة مرموقة

ليس هذا فحسب، بل يضم أيضاً مساحة واسعة لمتاجر التجزئة والتي تبلغ 49 متجراً، تمتد على مساحة

150 ألف قدم مربع موزعة على ثلاثة طوابق. ستضم هذه المساحة ثلاث صالات سينما وهايبر ماركت،

وموقف للسيارات بطاقة استيعابية تصل إلى 2,617 سيارة، وموقف مخصص للزوار يتسع لـ 312

سيارة، بالإضافة إلى خدمة صف السيارات.

وكانت سيفن تايدز قد أعلنت عن بيع كافة الوحدات السكنية من المرحلة الأولى للمشروع، خلال أقل من

أسبوع على إطلاق عمليات البيع، في حين سيتم طرح الوحدات الأخرى في السوق في الوقت المناسب.

وأردف بن سليم قائلاً: "في الواقع، نحن نقدم قيمة عالية بأسعار تنافسية، فضلاً عن توفير خيارات مرنة

COVID-19 will foster much needed collaboration in the future of work

The coronavirus pandemic is having an era-defining impact on how organisations and their employees operate and, importantly, collaborate. Although the crisis is still unfolding in some parts of the world, as lockdowns ease and economies slowly begin to wake up, business leaders are starting to discuss the lessons learnt from these challenging times and how they can be used to shape the future world of work.

 

Before the outbreak of the virus, many businesses had been experiencing lost productivity, highlighting a need for change. While the problem can’t be fixed with one solution alone, workplace teamwork is vital to not only improving productivity but also fostering creativity and problem-solving, ultimately leading to better employee retention and more successful business outputs. So, it’s surprising when you consider that collaboration has often remained one of the most undervalued and underemployed workplace tactics.

 

Choosing the right tools

In recent months, though, this has changed dramatically. Collaboration has become vital for organisations all over the world who have made a rapid transition to a remote working model. COVID-19 has forced many businesses into a new reality where teamwork no longer means having to be in the same physical location, and technology has been key to this change. The video conferencing industry in particular has seen significant traction during the outbreak - being hailed as the technology of the lockdown - as companies have turned to the likes of Google Meet, Microsoft Teams and Zoom to connect remote employees and customers. In fact, in March of this year, video conferencing applications saw a record 62 million downloads.

 

In response to this growing reliance on video conferencing and other cloud-based services for collaboration, there has been an increase in demand for laptop and notebook devices as companies look to equip employees with the right tools to set them up properly for home working. Research from analyst firm IDC found a surge of almost one third in year-on-year demand for notebook computers and laptops across Europe in the first quarter of this year.

 

Businesses which are investing in new technology need to consider that successful remote collaboration requires more than what is often anticipated. Factors like internal storage capacity, core processor speed and power, RAM memory, operating system updates, and more, all impact a remote employee’s work environment. Connectivity, however, is one of the most important considerations. Achieving this and avoiding costly downtime means supplying employees with a device which is fit for purpose, equipped with the latest WiFi network support, Bluetooth capabilities, and peripheral connections such as HDMI and USB ports. Not only this, but the importance of a reliable camera, quality audio and reduced fan noise has never been more important as employees rely so heavily on video calls for team collaboration.

 

New ways of working, new technologies

It’s not just laptop devices which are playing a fundamental role in fostering collaboration during this time, but also wearable technology which has been on the cusp of mainstream adoption for some time now. The unprecedented working environment created by the pandemic has propelled technologies like assisted reality (AR) forward beyond proof of concepts, opening up new use cases and demonstrating the potential of wearables in driving collaboration amongst remote teams.

 

Differing from augmented reality and virtual reality, assisted reality (AR) refers to the projection of information into a user’s immediate field of vision, and, importantly, is hands-free. With assisted reality-enabled smart glasses, you can project diagrams, text, images and videos, without interfering with the user’s peripheral vision.

 

So, how can this technology help to support collaboration both at this time as well as in the future as we enter a “new normal”? Critical tasks such as power station equipment maintenance need to continue, even during global lockdowns when teams aren’t able to reach a site. This is where AR-powered smart glasses come in. If a local power station technician runs into an issue, they can use the Remote Expert function on the glasses to contact an expert - who may even be based in another country - to show them the problem using the head mounted display and camera, and get the advice and help needed to fix it. In the current crisis, this removes the need for multiple teams to be on site, thus reducing the risk of potential transmission. For the future, it means reduced need for travel or face-to-face contact.

 

While this example is quite easy to imagine, there are also perhaps less obvious use cases which have led to the re-imagining of future collaboration. For those in an office or home environment, smart glasses also provide a vehicle for interactive remote communication through document retrieval, workflow instructions and real-time data capture - bringing people face-to-face, so to speak. And with organisations shifting to remote working even after COVID-19, this might well become more common practice for collaboration in the future.

Hitches & Glitches launches tech-driven home security service

Innovative UAE home maintenance specialist launches neighbourhood watch, home

security initiative using the latest smart home technology, for homeowners and tenants

on holiday or distant landlords

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, August 30, 2020: Dubai-based innovative and

technology-driven home maintenance specialist Hitches & Glitches (H&G), part of the

Farnek Group, has expanded its home maintenance offering with the launch of a new

tech-enabled security service called ‘H&G Neighbourhood Watch’.

The service applies to H&G customers who have bought and installed the Ring Video

Doorbell Elite. The connected doorbell allows homeowners to answer the door from

anywhere, via a two-way voice call and one-way live streaming of any visitor, through

their smartphone app or computer.

However, if any homeowner notices any suspicious movement captured by the Ring

camera, they will now have the option to contact H&G, who will dispatch a security

officer within 15-30 minutes to check on the property. After inspection, the customer is

then sent a report with any relevant images.

“Our experienced and professional security team can now provide homeowners, tenants

and landlords, with peace of mind, by ensuring home safety and security, 24 hours a

day. We envisage this service to be popular whether a home is left vacant during

holiday periods, or while landlords and owners are overseas,” said Kelvin Vargheese,

Director of H&G.

“Although the service is tech-driven, it is not too dissimilar to a residents’ neighbourhood

watch scheme and if during a call out we do notice any criminal activity or indeed

damage to the property we will inform the owner and the relevant authorities if

necessary,” he added..

Demand has soared for smart home security gadgets, as improved technology has

made devices easier to use and more affordable, especially those with remote options

for when homeowners are away from home, for any length of time.

H&G partnered with Ring in 2018, to retail and install its home security products and

solutions to residences throughout the UAE.

Other products available for installation through H&G include The Ring Floodlight Cam,

the first motion-activated security camera with two-way talk, built-in floodlights, and a

siren. The Chime Pro HD camera, the Ring Spotlight Cam, and four variations of the

Ring Indoor Cam are also available.
