Euromoney Conference to Discuss Increasing the Role of the Private Sector in Egypt

Egypt is already home to a vibrant private sector which plays an integral role in the economy. Important reforms have recently been adopted to improve the investment climate and increase the efficiency of the economy,  however a recent EBRD report has indicated that Egypt’s fast growing population and high unemployment have posed growth challenges and a more developed and vital private sector is needed.

Euromoney’s annual gathering, the Euromoney Egypt Conference, will feature Euromoney Conferences’ editorial director Charlie Corbett asking big questions about the constraints on greater private sector economic development, foreign investment in Egypt’s assets, and the impact the government’s IPO programme will have on encouraging the private sector. Dubai, Emirats Arabes Unis - 10 Septembre 2017 – Jaguar Land Rover Classic a présenté une Jaguar Type-E électrique au Jaguar Land Rover Technical Festival qui a eu lieu du 8 au 10 Septembre à Londres. La voiture appelée Type-E Zero a été restaurée et transformée dans les locaux Classic Works de Jaguar Land Rover à Coventry, non loin du lieu de naissance de la Type-E".

Tim Hannig, Director, Jaguar Land Rover Classic: “La Type-E Zero associe le dynamisme de la Type-E à des performances accrues grâce à son électrification. Cette combinaison unique offre des sensations de conduite époustouflantes.

Avec la Type-E Zero, nous voulons que les voitures classiques résistent à l’épreuve du temps. Nous étudions la possibilité de mettre ce concept sur le marché et nous sommes donc impatients d’entendre les réactions de nos clients”.

La Jaguar Type-E Zero ressemble à une Type-E et se conduit de la même façon. Mais elle est aussi plus rapide que la Type-E d’origine : le 0-100km/h ne prend que 5,5 secondes, soit 1 seconde de moins qu’une Type-E série 1.

Tim Hannig:“Afin d’associer de façon imperceptible la motorisation électrique et les réglages de la Type-E d’origine, nous avons limité la puissance du véhicule pour en optimiser le plaisir de conduire.”

La Type-E Zero présentée au Technical Festival est un Roadster Série 1,5 restauré. Ses spécifications sont totalement d’origine, à l’exception de sa motorisation du 21ème siècle et du tableau de bord modifié mais inspiré de l’original. Des feux à LED ont aussi été retenus pour une meilleure efficience énergétique tout en préservant le style de la Type-E Série 1.

Motorisation Électrique Spécifique

Un moteur électrique de 220kW a été spécialement développé pour la Type-E Zero. Son pack de batteries lithium-ion a les mêmes dimensions et un poids similaire au moteur XK de 6 cylindres utilisé sur la Type-E d’origine. Les experts responsables du développement de ce pack se sont assurés qu’il pourrait occuper précisément le même emplacement que le moteur XK. Le moteur électrique et le réducteur sont montés juste derrière le pack de batteries au même endroit que la boîte de vitesses de le Type-E. Un nouvel arbre de transmission envoie la puissance à un différentiel et à la transmission finale. Le poids total est inférieur de 46 kg à celui de la Type-E d’origine.

L’utilisation d’un groupe motopropulseur électrique au poids et aux dimensions similaires au moteur essence d’origine a permis de conserver la structure de la voiture, y compris la suspension et les freins et donc de simplifier sa conversion et son homologation. Sa conduite, sa tenue de route et son freinage sont comme sur la Type-E d’origine.

Tim Hannig: “ Nous avons intégré le nouveau groupe motopropulseur électrique dans la structure existante de la Type-E qui pourrait donc être rééquipée d’un moteur conventionnel à tout moment. Je pense que c’est essentiel pour s’assurer que Jaguar reste fidèle à son ADN.”

Le six cylindres XK, produit entre 1949 et 1992, a équipé la plupart des modèles iconiques des Jaguar de cette époque, y compris les Type-E, XK120, Mk2 et XJ6. Le nouveau moteur électrique pourrait être monté sur tous ces véhicules.

Tim Hannig: “Nous pouvons recourir à cette technologie pour transformer n’importe quelle Jaguar équipée d’un moteur XK.”

‘La Plus Belle Voiture Jamais Produite »

La Type-E, lancée en 1961, a régulièrement été élue plus belle voiture de tous les temps. Enzo Ferrari rejoignait cet avis en l’appelant « la plus belle voiture jamais produite.”

Le groupe motopropulseur de la Type-E Zero a été développé par un spécialiste de ce domaine en coordination avec les ingénieurs de Jaguar Land Rover et selon un cahier des charges spécifique déterminé par Jaguar Land Rover Classic. Il a utilisé une technologie et des composants provenant de la future I-PACE, premier véhicule de série entièrement électrique de Jaguar Land Rover.

La Type-E Zero propose une autonomie en ‘situation réelle’ de 270km grâce à sa légèreté et à son aérodynamisme. Sa batterie de 40kWh peut être rechargée le soir à la maison (en 6 à 7 heures selon la source d’électricité).

Huge opportunity for private sector investment in Egypt’s healthcare industry

JLL releases new report on Middle East’s healthcare industry at Cityscape Global in Dubai

Cairo, Egypt – September 11, 2017: Egypt’s healthcare sector presents significant opportunities for private sector investors, according to a new report released by JLL at Cityscape Global in Dubai.

The report, called ‘Healthy Returns’, highlights opportunities for investors and other real estate players in the healthcare market across MENA over the next five years as the region responds to an ageing population and increased demands for hospitals and other healthcare facilities.

Public expenditure on healthcare in Egypt is low, averaging around 5.2% of the Egyptian state budget in 2016, which requires additional investment to be attracted from the private sector, says the report.

“The dated public healthcare infrastructure in Egypt provides opportunities for private investors, with many existing facilities in dire need of renovation and upgrade,” said Ayman Sami, Country Head of Egypt, JLL. The sheer number of hospitals and clinics available provide many opportunities for renovation and expansion projects for those investors unwilling to invest in new or green field projects.”

The flotation of the Egyptian Pound has made investing in Egypt more affordable than in the past, making it a more attractive market for overseas investors. The government has also taken a series of measures to attract further foreign investment, including a new investment law (No.72) which aims to unify regulations, introduce non-tax incentives, establish a General Authority for Investment & Free Zones and strengthen investment protection guarantees.

The migration of Egyptian citizens from rural areas has also increased pressure on healthcare facilities in Egypt’s capital city.

“As with other markets across MENA, Cairo is experiencing increased demand for privately operated facilities to help cope with the growing challenges within its healthcare sector,” said Mr. Sami.

ووفقاً للتقرير، يعتبر الإنفاق الحكومي على الرعاية الصحية في مصر منخفضاً حيث يصل في المتوسط إلى  5.2  بالمئة (بنسبة خمسة فاصلة اثنين بالمئة)من ميزانية الدولة، مما يستلزم استقطاب المزيد من الاستثمارات الخاصة.

وفي هذا الشأن، صرح أيمن سامي، مدير مكتب جيه إل إل في مصر، قائلاً: "إن البنية التحتية الصحية المتقادمة في مصر تفتح المجال أمام مستثمري القطاع الخاص، إذ أن العديد من المنشآت والمستشفيات الحالية في حاجة ماسة للتجديد والتطوير. ويوفر هذا العدد الضخم من المستشفيات والعيادات فرصاً كبيرة أمام مشاريع التجديد والتوسع بالنسبة للمستثمرين غير الراغبين في الاستثمار في مشاريع جديدة أو تطوير مشاريع من الصفر".

وقد أدى تعويم الجنيه المصري إلى تيسير الاستثمار في مصر مقارنةً بما سبق، مما زاد من جاذبية السوق المصرية للمستثمرين الأجانب. كما اتخذت الحكومة المصرية سلسلة من الإجراءات لجذب المزيد من الاستثمارات الخارجية والتي من بينها قانون الاستثمار الجديد (القانون رقم 72) والذي يهدف لتوحيد التشريعات وتقديم حوافز غير ضريبية وتأسيس الهيئة العامة للاستثمار والمناطق الحرة وتعزيز ضمانات حماية الاستثمار.

وتعتبر هجرة المواطنين المصريين من الريف إلى المدن الحضرية من أسباب زيادة الضغط على منشآت الرعاية الصحية في العاصمة المصرية.

وعن هذا يضيف سامي قائلاً: "تشهد القاهرة، كما هو الحال مع الأسواق الأخرى في المنطقة، زيادة في الطلب على منشآت الرعاية الصحية الخاصة للمساعدة في مواكبة التحديات المتنامية داخل قطاع الرعاية الصحية".
