UAE, November 22, 2016 – The Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) has recently noted the significant growth in construction material exports to the Arab World. The strong numbers indicate that the UAE is a leading country for Brazilian exports in 2016 with USD 15.69 million recorded for the year alone so far. This reflects the strong trade relations between Brazil and the UAE as well as the thriving real estate sectors of both countries.

The ABCC emphasized this during its participation in The Big 5, one of the leading platforms for enhancing trade levels in the construction industry. A number of notable Brazilian companies are also participating in the event and showcase their wide range of top-quality products and services. The Arab World in general has recorded an impressive growth in Brazilian exports from 2015 to 2016, with the UAE leading with a 15.21 per cent growth and a share of 63.08 per cent.

Saudi Arabia, registered the next largest volume of exports, followed by Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Yemen. In addition, Yemen, registered the highest percentage of growth from 2015 at 452 per cent, followed by Bahrain at 231.88 per cent, Oman at 94.89 per cent, then Kuwait, UAE, Saudi Arabia and then Qatar.

The construction products increased from its 2015 numbers to its current 24.87 million, featuring a growth of 2.15 per cent. In terms of share in millions of US dollars, Granite is leading with share at 22.40 per cent or USD 5.57 million, and featuring a growth of 41.32 per cent. It is then followed by Plywood, Veneered Panels & Similar Laminated Wood; Glazed Ceramic Flags & Paving, Hearth Tiles; Wooden Furniture for Bedrooms; Plastics, Polymers and Resins ; and Appliances for Pipes, Boiler Shells, Tanks, Vats and the likes.

“The UAE and Brazil have continued to enjoy strong trade relations over the years. This has helped facilitate the export of top-quality materials Brazil has been known for, which in turn fuels the Arab World’s ambitious expansion in the form of innovative and pioneering real-estate projects. With many developments on the horizon, the Big 5 event is the ideal platform to showcase the specialties of Brazilian construction companies and how these can benefit the region’s growing construction sector,” concluded Michel Alaby, Secretary-General and CEO ABCC.

الإمارات، 22 نوفمبر، 2016 – أشارت الغرفة التجارية العربية البرازيلية مؤخراً إلى نمو كبير في حجم الصادرات البرازيلية من مواد البناء والإنشاءات إلى العالم العربي، كما تشير الأرقام إلى أن دولة الإمارات هي من بين أهم الدول المستقطبة للصادرات البرازيلية من هذه المواد خلال العام الجاري وبواقع 15.69 مليون دولار منذ بداية العام وحتى الآن، وهو ما يعكس العلاقات التجارية القوية بين البرازيل ودولة الإمارات، بالإضافة إلى ازدهار القطاع العقاري في البلدين.

وأكدت الغرفة التجارية العربية البرازيلية ذلك خلال مشاركتها في معرض "الخمسة الكبار"، أحد المنصات الرائدة لتعزيز مستويات التجارة في مجال الإنشاءات. حيث يشارك في هذا الحدث عدد من أبرز الشركات البرازيلية التي تعرض مجموعة واسعة من المنتجات والخدمات عالية الجودة. وسجلت الدول العربية بشكل عام ارتفاعاً كبيراً في وارداتها من البرازيل في الفترة من 2015 إلى 2016، حيت تأتي دولة الإمارات في المقدمة بنمو بنسبة 15.21% وحصة تصل إلى 63.08%. أما المملكة العربية السعودية فسجلت ثاني أكبر حجم استيراد من البرازيل، تلتها قطر ومن ثم الكويت والبحرين وعُمان واليمن. كما سجلت اليمن أعلى نسبة نمو اعتباراً من العام 2015 وبواقع 452%، تلتها مملكة البحرين بواقع 231.88% ثم عُمان بنسبة 94.89% والكويت ودولة الإمارات والسعودية وأخيراً قطر.

وارتفع حجم صادرات المواد الإنشائية من الأرقام التي تم تسجيلها في العام الماضي إلى نحو 24.87 مليون دولار حالياً، أي بنمو بلغ 2.15%. أما فيما يتعلق بحصة هذه المواد بملايين الدولارات، فيأتي الغرانيت في المقدمة بحصة بلغت 22.40% أو 5.57 مليون دولار وبنمو بلغ 41.32%. ويأتي بعد ذلك الخشب الرقائقي، والألواح المطعمة بالقشرة الخشبية والخشب المعاكس، وبلاط السيراميك المصقول للرصيف والمدافئ، والأثاث الخشبي لغرف النوم، والبوليمرات والراتنجات، والأدوات المخصصة للأنابيب، وأغطية المراجل، والخزانات، والأحواض وغيرها.

1. 1.     From smart to smarter: automated and human-like attacks will demand more intelligence defense 

Threats are getting smarter and are increasingly able to operate autonomously. In the coming year we expect to see malware designed “human-like” with adaptive, success-based learning to improve the impact and efficacy of attacks.

1. 2.     IoT manufacturers will be accountable for security breaches

If IoT manufacturers fail to better secure their devices, the impact on the digital economy could be devastating should consumers begin to hesitate to buy them out of cybersecurity fears. We will see an increase in the call to action from consumers, vendors and other interest groups for the creation and enforcement of security standards so that device manufacturers are held accountable for their device’s behaviors out in the wild.

1. 3.     20 billion IoT devices are the weakest link for attacking the cloud

The weakest link in cloud security is not in its architecture. It lies in the millions of remote devices accessing cloud resources. We expect to see attacks designed to exploit endpoint devices, resulting in client side attacks that can effectively target and breach cloud providers. Organizations will increasingly adopt fabric-based security and segmentation strategies that enable them to create, orchestrate, and enforce seamless security policies between their physical, virtual, and private cloud environments from IoT to the cloud.

1. 4.     Attackers will begin to turn up the heat in smart cities 

As building automation and management systems continue to grow over the next year they will be targeted by hackers. The potential for massive civil disruption should any of these integrated systems be compromised is severe, and are likely to be a high-value target for cybercriminals.

1. 5.     Ransomware was just the gateway malware

We expect to see very focused attacks against high-profile targets, such as celebrities, political figures, and large organizations. Automated attacks will introduce an economy of scale to ransomware that will allow hackers to cost-effectively extort small amounts of money from large numbers of victims simultaneously, especially by targeting IoT devices.

1. 6.     Technology will have to close the gap on the critical cyber skills shortage The current shortage of skilled cybersecurity professionals means that many organizations or countries looking to participate in the digital economy globally will do so at great risk. They simply do not have the experience or training necessary to develop a security policy, protect critical assets that now move freely between network environments, or identify and respond to today’s more sophisticated attacks.

Threat Predictions Trends and Take-Aways

The Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud continue to play heavily in the predictions but a few trends have become apparent. The digital footprint of both businesses and individuals has expanded dramatically, increasing the potential attack surface.  Additionally, everything has become a target and anything can be a weapon. Threats are becoming more intelligent, operate autonomously, and are increasingly difficult to detect. Lastly, old threats keep returning, but enhanced with new technologies that push the boundaries of detection and forensic investigation.

دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة، 22 نوفمبر 2016: مع اقتراب موعد انعقاد عدد من الأحداث العالمية التي تستضيفها المنطقة والتي تشكل دافعاً أساسياً لتعزيز مشاريع البنى التحتية وتسريع إنجاز المشاريع الكبرى في الإمارات العربية المتحدة والمملكة العربية السعودية وقطر، توقعت شركة بورتاكول، الرائدة عالمياً في مجال تطوير حلول التبريد التبخيري ومقرها ولاية تكساس الأمريكية، ارتفاع الطلب على أجهزة التبريد التبخيري.

واستناداً على تقرير ديلويت الخاص بقدرات البناء في دول الخليج 2016، فإن قيمة الخطط الموضوعة للمشاريع في دول الخليج بدءاً من شهر مايو 2016 ستصل إلى 2 تريليون دولار، والتي تتربع على رأسها المملكة العربية السعودية ودولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة. ويشار إلى أن قطاع البناء وقطاع النقل هما القطاعان الرئيسيان اللذان يحظيان بحصة الأسد من هذه المشاريع، والتي بغلت حصتيهما 52 و19 بالمائة على التوالي. وخلال الأسابيع الأخيرة، تؤكد المشاريع الكبرى التي يجري العمل على تنفيذها، مثل قناة دبي المائية التي تمتد على طول 9 كيلومترات وتفتح الفرص أمام إنشاء الأماكن والمرافق العامة الجديدة ضمن مساحة إجمالية قدرها 80,000 متر مربع، على أن دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة تواصل خططها الطموحة لأن تصبح مركزاً سياحياً عالمياً.

يذكر أن قيمة مناقصات المشاريع المطروحة خلال العام 2015 في جميع دول الخليج وصلت إلى 165 مليار دولار، حيث تجاوزت قيمة العطاءات في كل من قطر والكويت الأرقام القياسية في كلا البلدين، وذلك بسبب الحصص الاستثمارية المخصصة لاستضافة نهائيات بطولة كأس العالم، وارتفاع معدل الصادرات من النفط والغاز الذي عزز من نسب النمو. وتربع قطاع البناء والتعمير على رأس قائمة الاستثمارت المخصصة له، وذلك بقيمة تجاوزت الـ 70 مليار دولار من العقود الممنوحة.

واستجابةً لهذه التوقعات تتطلع شركة بورتاكول لتعزيز حضورها في أسواق المنطقة من خلال مركزها الإقليمي في منطقة جبل علي حيث أعلنت عن ذلك خلال مشاركتها في فعاليات معرض الخمسة الكبار في دبي مع تقديمها لمجمعة من منتجاتها من أجهزة التبريد التبخيري التي توفر خيارات تبريد فائقة تلبي متطلبات مختلف أنواع بيئات العمل في الأماكن التي تعجز عن تبريدها حلول التبريد التقليدي كالأماكن المفتوحة والساحات الخارجية.
