Egyptian wood market continuously growing at CAGR of five per cent; now standing strong at USD 34.5 billion
Dubai, UAE, 8 March 2022: Egypt's rapidly thriving wood market is remarkably growing continuously--at a recorded Compounded Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of five per cent. To date, the country's wood market is now estimated to be worth over USD 34.5 billion, growing exponentially from USD 28.3 billion in 2015. The country's positive outlook and strong standing across the global wood market has earned it the right to be named as this year's 'Country of Honor' for the 2022 edition of Dubai Woodshow, the leading global wood and machinery trade show, which is set to take place from March 15 to March 17, 2022, at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre (DICEC).
According to the show's organizers, Egypt's excellent standing in the world's wood market can be attributed in part to the presence of over 35,000 furniture production facilities and workshops; making it the country's 3rd largest industrial sector in terms of establishments and employment. All in all, Egypt's flourishing wood market accounts for 13 per cent of the total industrial employment.
Walid Farghal, Managing Director, Strategic Conference, and Exhibition, said, “Over the years, Egypt has managed to demonstrate excellent growth markers--continuously improving its market size at a CAGR of five per cent. The country is powered by the presence of many projects and services, including the growth of its wood working segment as well. Farghal added that a large number of Egyptian wood companies have already confirmed their participation at this year’s show and have expressed their eagerness to tap into newer markets and forge new partnerships. Egyptian companies coming to Dubai Woodshow 2022 include Al Ahram Security, CWWFI, EFEC, Egypt Panel, El-Mohandes, Good Wood, IMC, KEFAC, Modecor, Simplex and SMD among others.
Dubai Woodshow 2022 has added new additions to the event, including the 1st Innovations and Excellence Awards for the Wood and Woodworking Industry, a B2B Matchmaking Program, and a Hosted Buyer Program. These new initiatives have been designed to provide a new experience for both exhibitors and attendees, paving the way for a more accessible and efficient way to network and share industry knowledge.
“Dubai Woodshow lives up to its commitment of acting as a strategic platform for buyers and sellers to connect and create key partnerships that will result in long and strong business relationships. During the show's exciting three-day run, the show is expected to attract around 8,000 visitors,” concluded Farghal.

دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة، 8 مارس 2022 – يشهد سوق الأخشاب في مصر نمواً ملحوظاً بمعدل نمو سنوي تصل نسبته الى خمسة بالمائة، حيث تخطّت قيمة سوق الأخشاب في السوق المصري عتبة الـ 34.5 مليار دولار أمريكي بزيادة كبيرة عن قيمته في العام 2015 التي لم تتعد الـ 28.3 مليار دولار أمريكي. وتحّل مصر كـ "دولة الشرف" في معرض دبي الدولي للأخشاب ومكائن الأخشاب 2022، معرض الأخشاب العالمي الرائد الذي يقام في الفترة من 15 مارس إلى 17 مارس 2022، في مركز دبي الدولي للمؤتمرات والمعارض.
وأشار منظمو المعرض إلى مكانة مصر العالمية المتميزة في سوق الأخشاب والتي تعزى إلى تواجد أكثر من 35,000 مصنع وورشة لإنتاج الأثاث، حيث يمثل ثالث أكبر قطاع صناعي في الجمهورية من حيث عدد المنشآت والعمالة. كما يساهم سوق الأخشاب المزدهر في مصر بنسبة 13 بالمائة من إجمالي العمالة الصناعية.
من جهته، قال وليد فرغل، المدير العام شركة الاستراتيجي لتنظيم المعارض والمؤتمرات، الجهة المنظمة لمعرض دبي الدولي للأخشاب ومكائن الأخشاب 2022: "بمرور الأعوام، تمكنت مصر من تحقيق مؤشرات نمو ممتازة وتحسن مستمر في حجم سوق الأخشاب بمعدل سنوي مركب بنسبة خمسة بالمائة بفضل إطلاق العديد من المشاريع والخدمات. ودفعتنا المكانة الريادية التي تتمتع بها مصر في قطاع الأخشاب، إلى منحها لقب "دولة الشرف" لمعرض دبي الدولي للأخشاب ومكائن الأخشاب 2022".
وأضاف فرغل أن عددًا كبيرًا من شركات الأخشاب المصرية قد أكدّت بالفعل مُشاركتها في دورة هذا العام من المعرض وأعربت عن حرصها على الاستفادة من الأسواق الجديدة وإقامة شراكات جديدة. وتتضمن الشركات المصرية القادمة إلى المعرض كل من شركة الأهرام للأمن و CWWFI و EFEC و Egypt Panel و المهندس و Good Wood و IMC و KEFAC و Modecor و Simplex و SMD وغيرها.
ويشهد معرض دبي الدولي للأخشاب ومكائن الأخشاب 2022 إضافات جديدة في دورة هذا العام تشمل حفل جوائز الابتكارات والتميز الأولى لصناعة الأخشاب والنجارة، وبرنامج استضافة المشترين وبرنامج الصفقات الشرائية. وقد تم تصميم هذه المبادرات الجديدة لتوفير تجربة جديدة لكل من العارضين والزوار، ما يمهد الطريق لخلق وسيلة أكثر فعالية للتواصل ومشاركة الخبرات والمعارف في الصناعة.
واختتم فرغل قائلاً: "رسّخ معرض دبي الدولي للأخشاب ومكائن الأخشاب مكانته كمنصة استراتيجية للمشترين والبائعين للتواصل وإنشاء شراكات رئيسية من شأنها أن تؤدي إلى علاقات تجارية طويلة وقوية. ونتوقع حضور نحو 8000 زائراً خلال أيام المعرض الثلاثة".
