ABB Sponsor the Regional Conference of CIGRE committees in Arab countries, from 6-8 March 2019
Under the title of "The Future of Electricity Grids - Challenges & Opportunities", ABB in Egypt takes part in the regional conference of CIGRE committees in Arab countries to continue the current and past achievements taking place in the electricity sector in Egypt. The conference is held under the patronage of Dr. Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Eng. Gaber Dasouki, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company, Secretary of the National Committee of CIGRE, and Dr. Ahdab Al-Morshedi, Chairman of the National Committee of CIGRE. This forum will be attended by several ministers, large group of corporate companies, global experts, manufacturers and local and international academics shedding light on the latest research and topics related to electrical grids.
With this participation, ABB in Egypt intends to discuss many aspects related to the latest technologies made for sustainable energy transmission and ways to make it accessible in the coming period, which could be a beneficiary to Egypt’s strategic plans of becoming a regional energy hub in the near future.

ABB has also been recently selected by the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) to help upgrade and digitalize the electrical grid in Canal cities and the Suez Canal region which include a growing population of 12 million people.
ABB تستعرض أحدث التقنيات في أول مؤتمر للسيجريه (CIGRE) في القاهرة
يعقد المؤتمر تحت عنوان (مستقبل شبكات الكهرباء - التحديات والفرص)، وتشارك شركة ABB مصر في المؤتمر الإقليمي للجان CIGRE في الدول العربية هذا العام لمواكبة الإنجازات الحالية والسابقة التي تحدث في قطاع الكهرباء في مصر. يقام المؤتمر تحت رعاية الدكتور محمد شاكر وزير الكهرباء والطاقة المتجددة، والمهندس جابر دسوقي رئيس مجلس إدارة الشركة القابضة لكهرباء مصر وأمين اللجنة القومية للسيجريه، والدكتورة أهداب المرشدى رئيس اللجنة القومية للسيجريه، كما يحضر هذا المؤتمر العديد من الوزراء وعدد كبير من الخبراء والمصنعين في مجال الكهرباء والطاقة وأكاديميين محليين دوليين لإلقاء الضوء على أحدث الأبحاث والموضوعات المتعلقة بالشبكات الكهربائية.
تهدف ABB مصر من مشاركتها في هذا المؤتمر الي تسليط الضوء علي عدة محاور تتعلق بتأمين تغذية الطاقة وكيفية تحقيقها خلال الفترة القادمة، فضلا عن اهم العوامل التي يمكن أن تجعل من مصر مركزا اقليميا للطاقة بما يخدم استراتيجيات الدولة و توجهاتها لقطاع الكهرباء والطاقة، كأحد أكبر الشركات التي تعمل بالسوق المصرية في قطاع الكهرباء والتي تدير عمليات كبيرة وتنفذ مشروعات هامة في مصر وشمال ووسط افريقيا وتعد من أكبر الشركات المستثمرة في السوق المصري حيث تقوم بالتصنيع والتصدير الي أكثر من 20 دولة حول العالم من مصانعها بمصر.

تناقش الشركة في هذا المؤتمر موضوعات حول التحول الرقمي للبنية التحتية للشبكات من انظمة التيار المتردد الي انظمة التيار المباشر للجهد العالي، كما ستدير ندوة حول إدارة جودة الطاقة ومحولات التيار المباشر للجهد العالي الخاصة بشبكات الربط.
جدير بالذكر انه تم اختيار شركة ABB مؤخراً من قبل الشركة المصرية لنقل الكهرباء (EETC) للمساعدة والعمل علي رفع مستوى ورقمنة الشبكة الكهربائية في مدن القناة ومنطقة قناة السويس أحد أهم واسرع المناطق نموا في مصر، والتي يقطنها أكثر من 12 مليون نسمة.
