Invites the regional developer community to create innovative digital solutions for public safety using the Tactilon Dabat device
Dubai, UAE- 5 September 2018 – Airbus has kicked off the innovation initiative “Critical App Challenge” for the Middle East to set in motion regional developers and start-ups to create the best applications for public safety users. Airbus is giving life to a digital ecosystem for its secure device Tactilon Dabat, an Android smartphone and Tetra radio in one. The aim is to establish new digital solutions to help police, firefighters and other professionals improve their work.
The Critical App Challenge’s concept is based on the idea of Hackathons: Software pioneers, user interface designers, and business managers work together intensively in a limited amount of time towards building proofs of concept for innovative digital solutions.
Start-up companies and app creators from the Middle East can enrol for the online challenge on the website https://criticalappmena.bemyapp.com/. An expert jury will then select the five best participants who can show the most promising and feasible results at the end of September. The winners will subsequently be invited to present their applications at the GITEX exhibition in Dubai from 14th and 18th October. GITEX is one of the most important fairs in the Middle East in the field of electronics and future digital technologies.
“We are looking for path-breaking ideas for our Tactilon Dabat. This Critical App Challenge in the Middle East is a unique incentive for inventive minds. Contributors profit from getting special access to mission-critical markets,” says Rahim Zaknoun, Head of Innovation & Developer Ecosystem at Secure Land Communication of Airbus.
Airbus sets up next-generation secure communication platforms where the Tactilon Dabat plays a pivotal role in gathering and processing intelligence for professionals. The device received the International Critical Communications Award 2018 in the category “Best evolution to future broadband” and meets all the security standards for narrow- or broadband networks. Device users can take advantage of special mobile public safety apps that are available through Airbus.
Application developers who are generally interested in cooperating with Airbus in the field of mission- or business-critical communication can register for the SmarTWISP programme on the “Secure Land Communications” website. They will find a starter kit which helps make new mission-critical applications. Once approved for a free membership, subscribers can access guidelines, tools and the application programming interface (API). Furthermore, members benefit from special training, tools, and reward schemes.

دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة – في 5 سبتمبر 2018: أعلنت "إيرباص" عن انطلاق مسابقتها ومبادرتها المبتكرة "تحدي تطبيقات الطوارئ" (Critical App Challenge) لمنطقة الشرق الأوسط، والموجهة لمطوري البرمجيات والشركات الناشئة في المنطقة. وتهدف هذه المسابقة إلى ابتكار أفضل التطبيقات لمستخدمي حلول السلامة العامة، حيث سيتم استخدام هذه التطبيقات من خلال جهاز "تاكتيلون دابات"، الهاتف الذكي الذي يجمع بين نظام "آندوريد" ومنظومة الاتصال اللاسلكي "تيترا". وتسعى الشركة من خلال هذه المسابقة إلى تطوير حلول رقمية جديدة لمساعدة عناصر الشرطة ورجال الإطفاء وغيرهم من المختصين في مجال الأزمات والطوارئ على تحسين أدائهم في العمل.
ويستند مفهوم "تحدي تطبيقات الطوارئ" إلى فكرة الهاكاثون، حيث سيجمع رواد البرمجيات ومصممي واجهة المستخدم ومديري الأعمال للعمل معاً بشكل مكثف وخلال فترة زمنية محددة من أجل تطوير حلول وتطبيقات رقمية مبتكرة لحالات الأزمات والطوارئ.
ويمكن للشركات الناشئة ومبتكري التطبيقات من منطقة الشرق الأوسط التسجيل للمشاركة في هذا التحدي من خلال موقع الإنترنت https://crtiticalappmena.bemyapp.com. ومن ثم ستقوم لجنة تحكيم من الخبراء باختيار أفضل 5 مشاركين الذين ستتاح لهم الفرصة لعرض أفضل تطبيقاتهم الواعدة مع نهاية شهر سبتمبر/أيلول. كما سيتم بعد ذلك دعوة الفائزين لتقديم تطبيقاتهم في "أسبوع جيتكس للتقنية"، المعرض الأبرز في مجال الإلكترونيات والتقنيات الرقمية المستقبلية على مستوى الشرق الأوسط، والذي ستقام فعالياته في دبي خلال الفترة من 14 إلى 18 أكتوبر/تشرين الأول المقبل.
وقال رحيم زكنون، رئيس منظومة الابتكار والتطوير في "سكيور لاند كوميونيكيشنز" لدى شركة "إيرباص": "نبحث عن أفكار خلاقة ليتم استخدامها من خلال جهازنا "تاكتيلون دابات"، ويعد "تحدي تطبيقات الطوارئ" في الشرق الأوسط منصة فريدة لتحفيز العقول المبتكرة، حيث سيوفر هذا التحدي للمشاركين فرصة فريدة لدخول قطاع إدارة الأزمات والطوارئ".
وتقوم "إيرباص" بتطوير منصات من الجيل الجديد للاتصالات الآمنة، حيث يلعب "تاكتيلون دابات" دوراً محورياً في جمع ومعالجة معلومات الأعمال للمستخدمين في القطاعات المختصة، وهو جهاز حاصل على "الجائزة الدولية لاتصالات الأزمات والطوارئ 2018" ضمن فئة "أفضل ابتكار لمستقبل النطاق العريض"، بالإضافة إلى أنه يلبي كافة المعايير الأمنية للشبكات ضيقة وواسعة النطاق. كما يمكن لمستخدمي الجهاز الاستفادة من تطبيقات السلامة العامة النقالة الخاصة والمتوفرة من خلال "إيرباص".
ويمكن لمطوري التطبيقات المهتمين بالتعاون مع شركة "إيرباص" في مجال اتصالات الازمات والطوارئ أن يبادروا بالتسجيل في برنامج تطوير التطبيقات "سمار تويسب" (SmarTSWIP) من خلال الموقع الإلكتروني لشركة "سكيور لاند كوميونيكيشنز"، حيث سيتم تزويدهم بمجموعة من الأدوات المخصصة للمبتدئين لمساعدتهم على ابتكار تطبيقات جديدة لاتصالات الأزمات والطوارئ. وعند الموافقة على العضوية المجانية في هذا البرنامج، يمكن حينها للمشتركين الحصول على مجموعة الإرشادات والأدوات وواجهة برمجة التطبيقات. كما سيستفيد أعضاء البرنامج من برامج التدريب والأدوات وأنظمة المكافآت الخاصة بهذا البرنامج.
