ABB Egypt has donated and installed medium-voltage (MV)switchgear and a ring main unit (RMU) to modernize the electrical distribution network at the Al-Demerdash Surgical unit of the Faculty of Medicine-Ain Shams University. The EGP 1.7 million donation, is part of the company's corporate social responsibility program in healthcare.
The upgraded electrical distribution network, using ABB's latest technology, will increase the electrical capacity and improve the hospital's energy efficiency performance. By enabling the hospital to accommodate its increased electricity loads it will more easily satisfy its duty of care to the nearly 2 million patients that pass through its doors each year.
"We believe in the active and influential role of the private sector in development projects, and we are pleased to have ABB participate in the renovation and rehabilitation plans of Al Demerdash surgical hospital. With the installation of the new distribution unit, the hospital can ensure the energy efficiency and safety of its equipment, which will benefit the patients and the hospital in general,” said Prof. Dr. Mahmoud El-Meteini, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University.
Dr. Ayman Saleh, Director of Ain Shams Hospitals, praised ABB's interest in healthcare projects in Egypt, especially the University's plans to renovate and rehabilitate 10 hospitals of Ain Shams University, within 2 years.

ABB Egypt has supported many social initiatives serving educational and healthcare sectors, such as the recent donation of a 30kW capacity solar power station on the rooftop of a building at the Faculty of Engineering- Cairo University, and the equipping and modernization of the Al Marwa Student Clinic in Menasheyt Nasser. This project was completed in cooperation with Takatof Association for Development, a non-governmental organization, working on urban and community development programs throughout Egypt to help serve more than 30 schools, (42,000 students) in the Dweika and Menasheyt Nasser regions.
ABB مصر تقوم بإحلال وتجديد شبكة توزيع الكهرباء بمستشفى الدمرداش الجامعي
القاهرة: 24 ديسمبر 2017: قامت شركة آيه بى بى مصر، بالتبرع باحلال وتجديد محطة توزيع جهد متوسط ولوحات حلقية جهد متوسط لصالح مستشفي الدمرداش الجراحي بكلية الطب جامعة عين شمس بقيمة 1.7 مليون جنيه. يأتي اهداء هذه المحطة كجزء من مسئولية الشركة تجاه المجتمع وفي اطار خطة مشاركة القطاع الخاص في تلبية متطلبات قطاع التعليم العالي والارتقاء بمستوى البنية التحتية وأداء المستشفيات الجامعية.
تعمل المحطة التوزيع الجديدة بإستخدام منتجات ايه بى بى عالية التقنية فى مجال التوزيع الكهربائي، علي زيادة السعة الكهربائية وتحسين أداء كفاءة الطاقة لاستيعاب زيادة الاحمال الكهربائية بالمستشفى الذي يخدم قرابة 2 مليون مريض بالمجان سنويا.
يقول أ.د/ محمود المتينى، عميد كلية الطب جامعة عين شمس: "نؤمن بالدور الفاعل والمؤثر للقطاع الخاص في التنمية والتطوير، لذا نحن سعداء بمشاركة ABB في تطوير وتجديد المستشفي الجراحي الذي يخدم العديد من قطاعات المجتمع المصري. تخدم مستشفي الدمرداش الجامعي عدد كبير من المرضي كل عام وبتركيب لوحة التوزيع الجديدة تستطيع المستشفي ضمان كفاءة الطاقة وسلامة اجهزتها بما يصب في مصلحة المرضي والمستشفي بشكل عام".
كما أشاد أ.د/ أيمن صالح، مدير مستشفيات عين شمس بإهتمام الشركة برعاية قطاع الصحة في مصر ومتابعتها لخطط احلال وتجديد وإعادة تأهيل 10 مستشفيات الجامعية تابعة لجامعة عين شمس خلال عامين بمشاركة القطاع الخاص.

يذكر ان شركة ABB تعمل علي مساندة ودعم العديد من مشروعات خدمة المجتمع في مجال التعليم والصحة حيث قامت مؤخرا بافتتاح محطة تعمل بالطاقة الشمسية بقدرة 30 كيلو واط لتغذية مبني المكتبة ومبني الجهد العالي بكلية الهندسة جامعة القاهرة بتكلفة تصل لأكثر من 65 ألف دولار. كما قامت ايضا بإفتتاح عيادة المروة الطلابية بمنشية ناصر التابعة لهيئة التأمين الصحي تحت رعاية وزارة التضامن الاجتماعي وبالتعاون مع "مؤسسة تكاتف للتنمية" حيث قامت الشركة بتحديث العيادة وتجهيزها لخدمة أكثرمن 30 مدرسة (42ألف تلميذ) بمنطقتي الدويقة ومنشية ناصر.
