AUC TO HOST THE ANNUAL CO-WORKING CONFERENCE, FUTURE OF AFRICAN CITIES: INNOVATION, SPACES AND COLLABORATION

WHAT
The Annual Co-Working Conference, Future of African Cities: Innovation, Spaces and Collaboration at The American University in Cairo (AUC). The AUC Venture Lab in partnership with AfriLabs Annual Gathering, Hivos Coworking Summit, Progrss, Wasabi Ventures Academy and The French University in Cairo are co-organizing the annual Future of African Cities Conference in Cairo.

The conference will cover a number of topics that relate to the future of Africa and the current and future role of entrepreneurs. AUC will be hosting the second day of the conference, which will focus on co-working spaces and how they positively reflect on entrepreneurship.

This event comes as part of the efforts of AUC Venture Lab to enhance the co-working spaces environment through the Coworking for Sustainable Employment (LEAD) program in partnership with Nahdet El Mahrousa and Hivos.

AUC Venture Lab is Egypt’s first university-based incubator and accelerator. The lab enables startups to capitalize on AUC’s intellectual capital, world-class facilities and research capacities. It connects innovative startups with AUC’s network that includes alumni, faculty, mentors and investors. Through this, it fosters a thriving ecosystem of innovation, education and responsible business. The mission of the AUC Venture Lab is twofold: to help Egyptian startups commercialize their innovative technologies and business models into viable ventures that contribute to economic growth, competitiveness and job creation; and to provide a learning and research platform for the AUC community to connect with entrepreneurs.
