LBS talent in high demand

94% of MBAs offered employment within three months of graduation

Ninety-four per cent of London Business School 2016 MBA graduates accepted job offers within three months of graduation, according to the latest employment figures from the School.

The School’s MBA Employment Report, published today reflects another strong year for its MBA graduates.

Of the 94% who accepted job offers within three months of graduating, more than a third (35%) went into consulting and a quarter (25%) took up finance roles. Students hired on a full-time basis joined one of 185 companies. Two fifths (40%) accepted roles in other sectors including energy and retail & retail. This included just over a fifth (21%) of graduates joining the technology sector. Amazon alone recruited 13 graduates from the School this year, while Google recruited eight.

“Our MBA equips students to work anywhere in the world, in a wide-range of industries, as proven by the success of graduates who have gone on to secure  global careers in industries ranging from finance and consulting, to technology, healthcare, retail and media,” said Lara Berkowitz, Executive Director, Career Centre, London Business School.

Nearly half (48%) of MBA 2016 graduates have been employed internationally in 40 countries outside the UK, a testament to the international mobility of the School’s graduate body. For the 48% taking up employment overseas, Europe, excluding the UK (16%), and Asia (11%) were the most popular destinations for graduates.

“Many students cite our London location when asked why they join the School,” Berkowitz says. “Nearly 50% of them go on to pursue careers outside of the city of study after graduation, which makes us distinct from other business schools. The biggest geographic change since 2015 is that the number of graduates taking jobs in Europe (excluding the UK) has climbed from 13% to 16%.”

The School also saw 99% of 2016 graduates secure internships over the summer months.

The School is currently ranked number one in Europe for the third consecutive year by the Financial Times (European Business Schools ranking).

More information, including details of the sectors, salaries and locations the School’s graduates have secured roles in, is available.
