AUC TO DISCUSS LAWS REGULATING MEDIA IN EGYPT AT A TAHRIR DIALOGUE LECTURE


WHAT
A panel discussion, “Laws Regulating Media in Egypt: Current Challenges and Future Prospects,” as part of the Tahrir Dialogue series organized by the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at The American University in Cairo (AUC). The discussion will cover articles in the law that deal with audio-visual media regulations, print and electronic media regulations, as well as issues dealing with freedom of the press, journalism ethics, professionalism and intellectual property rights.

The panel will be conducted in Arabic and simultaneous translation will be provided.

Hassan Ali, profesor and dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Suez University; Hassan Emad Mekkawy, profesor and dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, Misr University for Science and Technology and Mohamed El Morsi, professor of mass communication, Cairo University. The discussion will be moderated by Hussein Amin, professor of Journalism and Mass Communication and director of the Kamal Adham Center for Television and Digital Journalism, AUC.
