● Year in Search reveals the public figures, events, movies and searches that trended in Egypt this year.
● Tiran and Sanafir, the US presidential elections, and Thanaweya Amma results topped the list of trending searches
Cairo, Egypt – 14th of December, 2016 - Google announced today its annual Year in Search report, offering a unique perspective on the year's major moments and top trends based on searches conducted in Egypt. This year marks the 16th report in a row issued by Google.
This year's trending searches in Egypt reveal an interest in national events such as the Tiran and Sanafir incident, as well as Mahmoud Abdel Aziz’s funeral. Politics also took center stage this year, with the top search queries including major political events such as the US presidential elections, which come topped the most trending searches of 2016.
"We always look forward to this part of the year where we share how the world searched for 2016. Year in Search is a look back at what caught the attention and curiosity of our users in the Middle East and North Africa over the past 12 months, and especially here in Egypt," commented Joyce El-Baz, Head of Communications for Google in the Middle East and North Africa.
The results of 2016 also reveal that entertainment is a major point of interest for Egyptians, with movies such as Hassan & Boqloz, Abu Shanab, Hell in India, and Hepta, in addition to Awlad Rizk, coming on top of the list of Egypt’s most searched movies. While Ramadan’s hit TV series Al Ostoora (The Legend) made it to the most trending general searches list.
On the other hand, Google's Year in Search report also revealed the most trending public figures of 2016 with the late renowned Arab poet Nizar Qabbani heading the list, which also includes singer Ahmed Sheba, Amr Diab, the late actor Mamdouh Abd El Aleem, and actress Mirhan Hussein, among others.

عمليات البحث الأكثر رواجا على محرك بحث Google خلال عام 2016 في مصر

- حادث كنيسة العباسية، تيران وصنافير، والانتخابات الأمريكية يتصدرون قائمة الأحداث الأكثر تداولاً في مصر خلال عام 2016
القاهرة، مصر – 14 ديسمبر 2016 - أصدرت شركة Google صباح اليوم تقريرها السنوي لعام 2016 Year in Search والذي تقدم من خلاله نظرة شاملة على الأحداث الكبرى لهذا العام استنادا لعمليات البحث التي تم إجراؤها في مصر. والجدير بالذكر أن عام 2016 هو العام السادس عشر على التوالي الذي يتصدر فيه هذا التقرير.
وتُبرز قوائم عمليات البحث الأكثر تداولاً في مصر هيمنة الأحداث المحلية، مثل حادث كنيسة العباسية، تيران وصنافير وجنازة الفنان الراحل محمود عبد العزيز والتي تصدرت قائمة عبارات البحث الأكثر تداولاً هذا العام. كما جاءت السياسة ضمن أهم موضوعات البحث لهذا العام، حيث تصدرت انتخابات الرئاسة الأمريكية ضمن أهم الأحداث الأكثر تداولاً.
وعلقت جويس باز، مسؤولة الاتصالات لشركة Google في الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا عن النتائج قائله: "نتطلع إلى هذا الوقت من السنة طوال العام، حيث نشارك أهم الأحداث والأبحاث التي شغلت مستخدمينا على مدار العام، حيث تقدم هذه المعلومات نظرة عامة وفريدة من نوعها عما لفت نظر وفضول مستخدمي محرك بحث Google في مصر والعالم."
كذلك كان مجال الترفيه من أهم مجالات البحث التي جذبت انتباه المصريين خلال عام 2016، حيث تصدرت مجموعة من الأفلام المصرية قائمة الأعمال الفنية بما في فيلم حسن وبقلظ وفيلم أبو شنب وفيلم جحيم في الهند وفيلم هيبتا بالإضافة إلى فيلم ولاد رزق.
ومن ناحية أخرى، تضمن التقرير السنوي قائمة لأبرز الشخصيات العامة التي شهدت رواجاً في عمليات البحث، حيث جاء الشاعر السوري نزار قباني على رأس هذه القائمة والتي تضمنت أيضاً المطرب أحمد شيبة والفنان عمرو دياب والممثل الراحل ممدوح عبد العليم والفنانة الشابة ميرهان حسين ضمن قائمة الشخصيات العامة الأكثر تداولاً.
