A selection of the world’s top young chefs to compete in inaugural Alen Thong Golden Coffee Pot Young Chef Challenge;
- Nine international teams put to the test during three days of intensive competition;
Rising stars of the food industry are set to shine on the international culinary circuit thanks to the hotly anticipated new Alen Thong Golden Coffee Pot Young Chef Challenge hosted at SIAL Middle East from 5-7 December 2016 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
SIAL is adding yet another gem to its crown with the new competition, which will see nine teams of five professional young chefs compete for the coveted accolade.
“We look forward to welcoming the first edition of the Alen Thong Golden Coffee Pot Young Chef Challenge at SIAL 2016,” said Thamer Al Qasemi, chairman of the organising committee of SIAL Middle East 2016. “The awards have attracted nine prestigious teams from around the world and we look forward to seeing them compete for the top title.”
The competition will welcome entrants from China, Germany, Hong Kong, Lesotho, Namibia, Singapore, South Africa, Sweden and the UAE.
Three teams will go head-to-head each day, creating a mouthwatering menu of internationally-themed dishes including a cold salad, appetizer, plated hot main course and dessert buffet for forty people. The food will be assessed by nine respected World Association of Chefs' Societies (WACS) international culinary judges who will collaborate to appoint the winning team.
The Alen Thong Golden Coffee Pot Young Chef Challenge, organised by the Abu Dhabi chapter of the Emirates Culinary Guild in collaboration with the World Association of Chefs' Societies, will form an important part of La Cuisine at SIAL, a popular show feature that is a top meeting place for foodservice professionals from around the world. The awards are in memory of John Alen Thong, a founding father of the Emirates Culinary Guild, who passed away in 2015.
The 7th edition of SIAL, the Middle East’s fastest-growing professional trade exhibition for the food, beverage and hospitality industries, will feature more than 900 exhibitors, 500 VIP hosted buyers, and attract 22,000 food, beverage and hospitality attendees. Attendees will enjoy three days of business, networking and knowledge sharing, with access to niche conferences and innovative show floor events.

45 طاهياً يتنافسون للفوز بمسابقة تحدي الطهاة الشباب ضمن معرض سيال في أبوظبي
- 9 فرق من مختلف العالم تتنافس للفوز بجائزة المسابقة على مدى ثلاثة أيام
ينظم معرض سيال الشرق الأوسط 2016 الذي ينعقد خلال الفترة ما بين 5-7 ديسمبر القادم في مركز أبوظبي الوطني للمعارض، النسخة الأولى من مسابقة "تحدي الطهاة الشباب" وذلك ضمن فعاليات المعرض المختلفة.
وسيشارك في هذه المسابقة الجديدة العديد من النجوم الصاعدين في مجال الطهي من مختلف أنحاء العالم، وتمثل إضافة مميزة لفعاليات معرض سيال الشرق الأوسط.
وقال ثامر راشد محمد القاسمي، رئيس اللّجنة المنظمة لمعرض سيال الشرق الأوسط 2016: " إننا نرحب بالمشاركين في أولى دورات مسابقة تحدي الطهاة الشباب، والتي نجحت بجذب تسع فرق مميزة من مختلف أنحاء العالم للتنافس على الفوز بجائزة المسابقة" مشيراً إلى أن المشاركين يمثولن كلاً من الصين وألمانيا وهونغ كونغ وليسوتو وناميبيا وسنغافورة وجنوب أفريقيا والسويد والإمارات العربية المتحدة.
وأضاف بأن كل يوم من أيام المعرض سيشهد مشاركة ثلاثة فرق تتنافس لتقديم قائمة شهية من الأطباق العالمية بما في ذلك السلطة والمقبلات الشهية والطبق الرئيسي الساخن بالإضافة إلى أطباق الحلوى لأربعين شخصاً. وسيتم تقييم المشاركين من قبل لجنة تضم تسعة حكام دوليين مرموقين من الرابطة العالمية لجمعيات الطهاة (WACS) لاختيار الفريق الفائز.
وسوف تشكّل مسابقة تحدي الطهاة الشباب، والمنظّمة من قبل رابطة طهاة الإمارات بالتعاون مع الرابطة العالمية لجمعيات الطهاة، جزءاً مهماً من فعاليات (لا كوزين) ضمن معرض سيال وتمثل منصة لكبار المهنيين والعاملين في مجال خدمات الطعام من جميع أنحاء العالم.
وقد جرى إطلاق هذه الجوائز تكريماً لذكرى جون ألين ثونغ، أحد الآباء المؤسسين لجمعية الإمارات للطهي والذي توفي في عام 2015.
ويستضيف معرض سيال الشرق الأوسط، والذي يعدّ الحدث الأسرع نمواً في المنطقة في مجال قطاع الأغذية والمشروبات والضيافة، أكثر من 900 جهة عارضة و500 شار مستضاف، وسيجذب 22 ألف زائر من التجار وأهل الاختصاص على مدى ثلاثة أيام للاستفادة من الفرص التي يوفرها المعرض للتواصل وتبادل المعرفة والمشاركة في مجموعة من المؤتمرات المتخصصة والأحداث المبتكرة.
يذكر أن فعاليات معرض سيال الشرق الأوسط 2016 ستنظم تحت إشراف جهاز أبوظبي للرقابة الغذائية الشريك الاستراتيجي؛ بالإضافة إلى غرفة أبوظبي للتجارة والصناعة كراع مضيف، وضمن مهرجان أبوظبي للمأكولات. وتشمل قائمة الشركاء كلاً من الظاهرة القابضة كراع رئيسي، وشركة جنان للاستثمار كراع ماسي، والإمارات للصناعات الغذائية كراعي ذهبي، ومجموعة أعمال الإمارات وشركة الروابي كراعيين فضيين، وشركة أغذية وشركة مواسم كراعيين برونزيين، ومجموعة لولو كشريك التجزئة، والاتحاد للطيران كناقل رسمي، بالإضافة إلى جمعية الإمارات للطهي والرابطة العالمية لجمعيات الطهاة كشريكَي الطهي.
