Rosatom announced the winners of the "Nuclear education in Russia" Olympiad in Cairo

 


Cairo, 21 April 2016
The Russian Centre for Culture and Science in Cairo hosted an awarding ceremony to honour the winners of the "Nuclear education in Russia" Olympiad. The competition was organized with the support of Rosatom Corporate Academy, and implemented in the framework of cooperation in the field of training of Egyptian students in the leading Russian nuclear universities.


Students from the country’s leading technical universities, as well as pupils of graduation classes who potentially interested in taking training in Russian universities under the program of nuclear energy, were invited to participate in the competition held online on April 14.


The test results were announced on April 16. The top-3 winners of the Olympiad are: Sufi Abu from the Cairo University, Eltawila Mahmoud Maher from the Alexandria University, and Mustafa Mohamed from the Shobra El Balad language school.


In the welcome speech at the awarding ceremony, the head of the Russian Centre for Culture and Science in Egypt Alexey Tevanyan noted that construction of the Egypt’s first NPP is a strategic project for partnership development between Russia and Egypt, as well as for technological breakthrough of the country. “The purpose of the Olympiad is to identify the best and the most promising future professionals in order to give them an opportunity to study nuclear-related educational programs in Russia. Back home they will be the industry elite and will be able to realize their potential working on construction and operation of the El-Dabaa NPP", the spokesman added.


Within the framework of the event, Acting Dean of the Physics and Energy Department of the Obninsk Institute of Nuclear Power - a branch of the National Research Nuclear University "Moscow Engineering Physics Institute" Alexander Nahabov spoke in front of the audience comprising of representatives from the Ministry of Electricity and Energy of Egypt, the Ministry of higher education of Egypt, Nuclear Power Plant Authority of Egypt, as well as students, pupils, teachers and the leading Egyptian media representatives. His lecture covered the basics of nuclear energy, Russian nuclear technologies, and opportunities for using nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, including those related to vital practical applications in nuclear medicine, water desalination, wastewater treatment, and agriculture. Through the Russian example, the lecturer showed the benefits that can be achieved through implementation of peaceful nuclear program that aims to improve the quality of life.


Within his lecture, the spokesman also shared with the audience about how foreign specialist study nuclear-related programs in Russia. Currently, more than 700 foreign students obtained higher education in the nuclear field in Russia. In addition to field-specific education, students also learn Russian language. Field-specific training includes lectures and seminars conducted by not only the best teachers from specialized universities, but also by leading experts from major Russian nuclear power facilities. Practical application of knowledge is an essential element of educational system in Russia. In particular, MEPhI has a complex of research laboratories equipped with the advanced equipment, allowing conducting research, training of students and retraining of specialists for the leading scientific centers.


روس أتوم تعلن عن أسماء الطلاب المصريين الفائزين في أولمبياد "التعليم النووي في روسيا"

استضاف المركز الروسي للثقافة والعلوم بالقاهرة مراسم توزيع الجوائز على الطلاب الفائزين في أولمبياد "التعليم النووي في روسيا". تم تنظيم المسابقة بدعم من أكاديمية روس أتوم، حيث تأتي في إطار التعاون التدريبي بين مصر وروسيا والذي يتم بمقتضاه تدريب الطلبة المصريين في كبرى الجامعات النووية في روسيا.    


تم دعوة الطلاب المصريين في الجامعات الفنية وطلبة السنوات النهائية المهتمين بالتدريب في الجامعات الروسية، للمشاركة في المسابقة عبر الانترنت يوم 14 أبريل الحالي، وذلك في إطار برنامج الطاقة النووية المصري الروسي.  


وقد أسفرت نتائج الاختبارات التي تضمنتها المسابقة، وتم الإعلان عنها يوم 16 أبريل، عن فوز الطلاب الآتية أسماؤهم بالمراكز الثلاثة الأولى للمسابقة وهم: صوفي أبو من جامعة القاهرة، والطويلة محمود ماهر من جامعة الإسكندرية ومصطفى محمد من مدرسة شبرا البلد للغات.      


وخلال كلمة الترحيب التي ألقاها في مراسم توزيع الجوائز وتكريم الفائزين، أشار السيد/ ألكسي تيفانيان- رئيس المركز الروسي للثقافة والعلوم بالقاهرة، إلى أنّ إقامة أول محطة للطاقة النووية في مصر يُعد من أهم المشروعات الاستراتيجية التي تعكس متانة العلاقات المصرية الروسية في مجال التنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية، هذا إلى جانب القفزة التكنولوجية العملاقة التي ستحققها مصر نتيجة هذا المشروع. يضيف تيفانيان: "إنّ الغرض من إقامة هذه الأولمبياد هو التعرف على أفضل المواهب الواعدة في مجال الطاقة النووية، ومنحهم فرصة لدراسة البرامج العلمية في مجال الطاقة النووية في أرقى المعاهد والجامعات الروسية المتخصصة. ومع عودتهم لمصر مرة أخرى، سيصبح هؤلاء الطلبة هم صفوة المتخصصين في مجال الطاقة النووية، وسيتمكنون من استغلال كافة امكانياتهم في إقامة وتشغيل محطة الضبعة النووية."    


وخلال مراسم توزيع الجوائز، تحدث الكسندر نخابوف- القائم بأعمال رئيس قسم الفيزياء والطاقة في معهد أوبنينسك للطاقة النووية- أحد فروع الجامعة الوطنية للبحوث النووية "معهد موسكو للهندسة الفيزيائية"، أمام الحضور من ممثلي وزارة الكهرباء والطاقة المصرية، ووزارة التعليم العالي، وهيئة المحطات النووية المصرية، وعدد من طلبة المدارس والجامعات والمُدرّسين، وممثلي الصحافة والإعلام المصري. وتضمنت محاضرة نخابوف نظرة عامة  على أساسيات الطاقة النووية، وتكنولوجيا الطاقة النووية الروسية، وفرص استغلال الطاقة النووية للأغراض السلمية، مثل التطبيقات العملية المرتبطة بالطب النووي وتحلية المياه ومعالجة مياه الصرف الصحي والزراعة. ومن خلال الأمثلة الروسية التي ساقها نخابوف في هذه المجالات، استطاع المُحاضر الروسي اظهار المزايا التي يمكن تحقيقها من وراء تنفيذ برامج الطاقة النووية للأغراض السلمية، والتي تهدف جميعها لرفع مستوى المعيشة وجودة الحياة للمواطنين.    
      
وخلال محاضرته، تناول المتحدث الرسمي تيفانيان دراسة الأجانب لبرامج الطاقة النووية في روسيا، حيث أشار إلى أن هناك أكثر من 700 طالب أجنبي في روسيا حصلوا على مؤهلات عليا في مجال الطاقة النووية من روسيا. وبالإضافة للدراسة النووية المتخصصة، يدرس الطلبة والمبتعثين أيضاً اللغة الروسية. وتتضمن الدراسة المتخصصة مجموعة من المحاضرات والندوات التي يقوم بشرحها أفضل أساتذة الطاقة النووية في الجامعات الروسية، وكذلك كبار الخبراء العاملين في المحطات النووية الروسية. إنّ التطبيق العملي للمعارف النظرية يُعد من الأمور الرئيسية لنظام التعليم الروسي. وبوجه خاص، يمتلك معهد موسكو للهندسة الفيزيائية مجمع متخصص لمعامل الأبحاث مجهز بأحدث المعدات، بما يتيح القيام بالأبحاث النووية المتخصصة وتدريب الطلبة والمتخصصين في كبرى المراكز العلمية الروسية.
