BOLOGNA WELCOME TO TAKE PART IN ATM DUBAI 2016

 


From April 25 to 28, 2016, the DMO of Bologna City will meet professionals at the B2B trade fair in Dubai

Bologna, 25 April 2016 –Bologna Welcome will participate in the Arabian Travel Market 2016, the leading global event for the Middle East inbound and outbound travel industry due to be held in Dubai World Trade Center in April 25 to 28.
Bologna is an important railway and motorway hub in Italy, conveniently located. The city is the heart of vibrant touristic and cultural environment and the Region is attractive for tourists for its dynamism. The economy of Bologna is characterized by a flourishing industrial sector. The city's Fiera District (exhibition centre) is one of the largest in Europe, with important yearly international expos focused among other on the automobile sector (Bologna Motor Show), and the food industry. In addition, several important firms in the fields of automobiles (Lamborghini), motorcycles (Ducati), mechanics, food, tobacco and electronics have their headquarters in the urban area of Bologna.
Bologna Welcome is the Convention and Visitors Bureau of Bologna promoting Bologna and its territory by offering further and new opportunities to encourage and welcome national and international tourism. The C&VB will exhibit within the ENIT - Italian State Tourist Board (booth EU5250) where it will meet with business partners, professionals and visitors presenting the latest news of Bologna and the metropolitan area and new tourist offers.

A delegation of the following partners will join Bologna Welcome and will assist promoting the destination with authentic offering that reflects the Italian hospitality and originality:

  • Vivara Viaggi (specialized travel agency)

In particular, great attention will be devoted to the launch of the new product range, designed to highlight the four clusters on which Bologna Welcome aims to position the destination on the international tourist market. The creation of commercial proposals was thus divided into 4 thematic brands: City of Culture, City of Music, City of Motors, City of Food.

The Bologna Welcome booth will mainly focused on the topic of the Motor Valley Experience. Operators who visit the stand will receive promotional material providing information on the itineraries in Emilia Romagna. Furthermore, Bologna Welcome will introduce the travel packages included in the catalogue "Bologna Your Destination". The partners will have the opportunity to meet operators and to present their own products.
 The cultural section in the spring will be especially lively with the great exhibitions held in Bologna:
EGYPT. MILLENNIAL SPLENDOR. MASTERPIECES FROM LEIDEN TO BOLOGNA - until July 17 at the Civic Archaeological Museum. A look on art and history of Ancient Egypt through the Egyptian collection at the National Museum of Antiquities in Leiden , and some works of the Egyptian Museum in Turin and the Egyptian Museum in Florence
MORANDI AT TWENTY YEARS OLD. MATTIOLI COLLECTION OF PAINTINGS FROM THE GUGGENHEIM IN VENICE - until June 26 at MAMbo . Showcasing four of the artist's masterpieces between 1913 and 1915. The paintings come from the important Milanese art collection of Gianni Mattioli.Bologna Welcome also created a special tour dedicated to Giorgio Morandi that offers an entire day in the places and the art of the Bolognese painter. 
EDWARD HOPPER - until 24 July at Palazzo Fava. The exhibition dedicated to the icon of American art of the twentieth century with oils, watercolors, charcoals and chalks the early twentieth century to the sixties.
Springtime is Bologna, is the title awarded by Bologna Welcome to all initiatives and special offers that will liven up the city from March until June. Springtime is Bologna follows the rhythm of the two wheels, thus triggering the desire to discover the city and the territory. Bologna Welcome created a series of tours by bike and motorbike to experience the region in complete freedom and at the same time, to find out the less known sides of the destination.
BIKING BOLOGNA is an offer created by Bologna Welcome, in collaboration with Dynamo - the Bike Rental Station, to visit Bologna with bicycles with the help of a local guide. The route is flat, does not present technical difficulties and is therefore suitable even for families with children.
Bologna is a land of motors and for those wishing to discover this great heritage, Bologna Welcome offers, in collaboration with Travelhoo themed tours aboard an all Italian myth all: the Vespa 50.
VIA EMILIA is the offer that combines landscape dotted with culture, flavours, well-being and engines. The tour, in Vespa 50, runs along 100km and includes the entrance to the Autodromo of Imola, the visit of the village of Dozza, and an open air museum with its murals.  
For a trip out of town, Bologna Welcome features a tour on a Vespa to discover the HILLS OF BOLOGNA. An offer that immerses the visitor in a dreamlike atmosphere dominated by lush vegetation marked by paths, views, villas, parks and monuments.
The above mentioned proposals will help Bologna Welcome to expand international tourism: tourists arriving in Bologna, will be welcomed in the new Info Point opened in September and managed by Bologna Welcome, in collaboration with APT Emilia Romagna, at the 'arrivals area's at the G. Marconi Airport.
With the constant increase in visitors over the past 10 years (+ 45%), tourism has become one of the main engines of the economy of Bologna that, over time, has been able to renew its image by offering Italian and foreign visitors, now 75% of the total, a city of international scope. In fact the accommodation offer increased by 8.44% (2014 vs. 2013) and G. Marconi airport now offers flight connections to 89 destinations (11 domestic and 78 international).
