Campaign aims to widen and deepen engagement of travelers to Thailand through digital media
(Dubai, 1 November 2014) The
Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Dubai and Middle East Office in
cooperation with Thai Airways International and ONYX Hospitality Group
officially launched its new social media campaign ‘Win A Journey to
Amazing Thailand 2015’ in an effort to generate greater outreach and
engagement with Middle Eastern travellers to travel to Thailand through
the use of digital media.
At the end of the
campaign, one lucky winner will receive an all expense paid trip to
Thailand including return economy class ticket from Thai Airways,
complimentary 3-night stay at Amari Residence Bangkok with breakfast and
airport transfer and complimentary 1-day tour in Bangkok.

friends and fans from the digital world. This is our initiative to give
back to our friends and fans for the overwhelming support and loyalty to
Thailand throughout the year.”
Thailand is amazing
for so many reasons, such as pristine beaches and mountain landscapes,
elephants, great shopping and nightlife, rejuvenating spas, ancient
culture and delicious cuisine, at the root of all our offerings is the
unique Thainess that comes from the people.
Social media platforms in the form of Twitter (@TATDubaiArabic) and Facebook (www.facebook/ tourismthailandmiddleeast.com)
have been launched by TAT in 2013 and can be viewed in both English and
Arabic, with the TAT Middle East Office dedicated Arabic website has
been upgraded with new and refreshed Arabic content to further engage
with the Arabic–speaking world.
The social media
platforms will allow friends and fans of Thailand to learn all things
Thai to virtually come together, and it is hope that those that have
visited Thailand before will be able to share their experiences and
provide insights to those that are planning to visit. Additionally, TAT
will be regularly providing updates and introductions to relatively
unknown or new attractions and experiences, as well as insights into
Thai culture, festivals and Thai cuisine. Thailand related events and
promotions being held within the Middle East will also be posted, as
well as information on special travel promotions and deals, and even
popular Thai cooking recipes.
During the last two
years the number of visitors to Thailand from the Middle East has grown
considerably. While the UAE remains in top position bringing an estimate
of 153,594 visitors to Thailand in 2014, other GCC countries are also
emerging as potential expanding markets including Oman, KSA and Kuwait.
In order to enter the
competition, entrants must simply click a selfie photo while in Thailand
and post it to TAT Facebook page. The photo with most number of ‘Likes’
will declare a winner. The competition starts from November 1, 2015 and will run until December 15, 2015.
