تسهم في التوعية بالمخاطر الناجمة عن استعمال الهواتف المتحركة أثناء القيادة

أبوظبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة، 13 مارس 2018: أطلقت صحيفة الاتحاد التابعة لأبوظبي للإعلام وبالتعاون مع القيادة العامة لشرطة أبوظبي المبادرة المجتمعية "قرارك_ يحدد _مسارك "، التي تهدف إلى نشر الثقافة المرورية، والتوعية بسلوكيات وطرق استخدام الهاتف المتحرك أثناء القيادة. وبالتالي تعزيز التعاون مع الدوريات المرورية للحد من هذه الظاهرة. 

وأكدت صحيفة الاتحاد أن الحملة ستخاطب الجمهور من مختلف فئات المجتمع عبر نشر رسائل توعوية وإيجابية مصممة بطريقة إبداعية سواءً عبر صفحاتها المطبوعة أو منصات التواصل الاجتماعي التابعة لها، والتي تدعو القراء من خلالها إلى تجنب استخدام تطبيقات الهاتف المتحرك للتصوير والدردشة أثناء قيادة السيارة. كما تقدم الصحيفة أغنية خاصة حول أهداف المبادرة بمشاركة ودعم سفراء الحملة الفنانين حسين الجسمي غناء والحان فايز السعيد ومن أشعار الشاعر حسان العبيدلي .

وأكد سعادة الدكتور علي بن تميم مدير عام أبوظبي للإعلام، أن هذه المبادرة تأتي في إطار الدور المسؤول لأبوظبي للإعلام، وعلاماتها التابعة لها وبخاصة صحيفة الاتحاد، التي لعبت دوراً مهماً في تعزيز ثقافة المسؤولية المجتمعية، بما ينسجم مع رؤيتنا الرامية إلى تبني وإطلاق مبادرات تلمس احتياجات قطاعات المجتمع كافة، نحو تحقيق التنمية والحفاظ على سعادة الأفراد.

من جانبه، قال محمد الحمادي المدير التنفيذي للتحرير والنشر، رئيس تحرير صحيفة الاتحاد: "شهدنا في الآونة الأخيرة انشغال أفراد المجتمع بأجهزة الهاتف الذكية وتطبيقاتها والتي باتت مسبباً في تشتت انتباههم، وبخاصة أثناء قيادة سياراتهم".

وأشار الحمادي إلى أن "الاتحاد" استندت في مبادرتها إلى الدراسات والتقارير الصادرة عن مختلف الجهات الحكومية والمتخصصة في البحوث المجتمعية، والتي أجمعت في خلاصتها على خطورة استخدام الهواتف أثناء القيادة وتسببها بنسب عالية من الحوادث التي نجم عنها الكثير من حالات الوفاة.

وأضاف الحمادي: "إن هذه المبادرة التي أطلقتها الصحيفة بالتعاون مع شرطة أبوظبي، ستستهم في رفع الوعي بالمخاطر المحتملة عند استخدام الهاتف أثناء القيادة والمحافظة على السلامة في الطريق بأسلوب مبتكر ومحفّز عبر منصات الجريدة المطبوعة منها والرقمية، وتشجيع السائقين على الالتزام بالقواعد المرورية والقيادة بأسلوب حضاري".

ولفت معاليه إلى الاهتمام الذي توليه شرطة ابوظبي في تعزيز الإيجابية ودعم المسؤولية المجتمعية من خلال تفعيل دور القطاع العام والدوائر الحكومية والمؤسسات التعليمية في زيادة الثقافة المرورية بين السائقين بالاستفادة من وسائل التواصل المتوفرة لديهم وتشمل المواقع الإلكترونية ووسائل التواصل المجتمعية وغيرها من الوسائل الاخرى لتوعية العاملين لديهم بضرورة الإلتزام بقانون السير والمرور

.وقال انه ورغم التحذيرات المتكررة بخطورة استخدام الهاتف المتحرك أثناء قيادة المركبات الا ان هناك بعض السائقين لا زالوا يستخدمونه على الرغم من التحذيرات المتكررة عبر كافة وسائل الاعلام والتوعية عن الحوادث الجسيمة مشيراً إلى ان استخدام الهاتف اثناء القيادة يؤدي الى فقدان التركيز على الطريق بسبب تخلي السائق عن الإمساك بعجلة القيادة بكلتا اليدين و عدم الانتباه بالنظر إلى شاشة الهاتف للتعرف على المتصل ومن ثم بمتابعة الحديث مع المتصل 

وقال أن أنشطة وبرامج التوعية التي ينفذها قطاع العمليات المركزية تتواصل ووفق خطط وبرامج منظمة لتوعية السائقين بخطورة الانشغال بالهاتف عن مراقبة الطريق حيث أن إجراء مكالمة هاتفية أو استلام مكالمة خلال القيادة قد يصرفان العقل عن التفكير والتأخر في رد الفعل. والانحراف بين مسارب الطريق وإبطاء سرعة المركبة إلى ما دون الحد الطبيعي، واحتمال تجاوز الإشارة الضوئية الحمراء 

واعرب معاليه عن أمله بمشاركة النشطاء من مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي في إنجاح مبادرة جريدة الاتحاد الهادفة عبر مواقعهم في اطار التعاون المجتمعي المشترك لتعزيز الوعي ونشر الثقافة المرورية الرصينة التي تحث السائقين على الالتزام بالقوانين والأنظمة التي وضعت من أجل سلامة مجتمعنا. 

وقال إن هناك جهود مكثفة للحد من استخدام الهاتف اثناء القيادة وطالب السائقين بإعادة التفكير قبل استخدامه لان حياتهم وأرواحهم أغلى بكثير من أن تهدر في مقابل مكالمة هاتفية او رسالة نصية لا تساوي الكثير مقارنة بنتائج الحادث وما يسفر عنه من وفيات واصابات بليغة 

وقال انه يجب على السائقين اتخاذ القرار الصحيح الذى يحميهم ويحمى اسرهم ويحمى كافة مستخدمي الطريق بعدم استخدام الهاتف والذى اصبح ادمانه خطورة بالغة على كافة مستخدمي الطريق لافتاً الى ان القيادة تتطلب الانتباه التام ومراقبة الطريق بكافة الحواس حيث ان إجراء مكالمة هاتفية أو استلام مكالمة او رسالة نصية خلال القيادة يصرفان السائق عن الانتباه والانحراف بين مسارب الطريق وإبطاء سرعة المركبة وتعطيل حركة السير والمرور، و تجاوز الإشارة الضوئية الحمراء وارتكاب العديد من المخالفات التي تؤدى الى الحوادث المرورية متمنياً السلامة للجميع .

Five Steps for Re-tooling Your Organization with Machine Learning

Let's say you decide to build a new house. Not only do you have to buy the materials, but you also have to hire the skilled talent who can get the job done. That is a lesson many CIOs in the Middle East are learning about their plans to implement machine learning technologies that are able to analyze and improve performance without direct human intervention. Despite investing in machine learning, a new survey from ServiceNow indicates that most CIOs do not have the talent, data quality and budgets to fully leverage the technology. If your organization is embarking on the machine learning journey (and it should be), there are five steps CIOs must take to maximize the value of their investment.

Take these steps today, because the long-awaited Age of Machine Learning may be upon us soon. Computer science has caught up to the hype around machines that emulate human intelligence. Now, the technology occupies the peak position of Gartner’s Hype Cycle for Emerging Technologies, indicating that it has matured enough to spur wide interest. In other words, your competitors are also investing in machine learning.

Five hundred CIOs were recently polled for the annual Global CIO Point of View Survey, and the findings reveal that businesses are preparing for the widespread adoption of this transformational technology to automate decision making. Nearly 90% are using machine learning in some capacity, and most are still developing strategies or piloting the technology. However, the full potential of machine learning remains largely unrealized. For most organizations, many decisions still require human input. Only 8% of respondents say their use of machine learning is substantially or highly developed, as opposed to 35% for the internet of things or 65% for analytics.

Designing an organizational structure to support data and analytics activities, an effective technology infrastructure and ensuring senior management is involved are the three most significant challenges to attaining data and analytics objectives related to machine learning, according to a McKinsey study. It goes on to claim that organizations that can harness these capabilities effectively will be able to create significant value and differentiate themselves, while others will find themselves increasingly at a disadvantage.

Capturing greater value requires regional organizations to invest in more than just technology. It is also necessary to make significant organizational and process changes, including approaches to talent, IT management and risk management. Making progress requires following five steps:

Improve Data Quality

Ensuring the quality of data is a common obstacle to machine learning adoption. Poor data leads to machines making poor decisions, which can lead to increased risk. CIOs need to consider implementing solutions that simplify data maintenance in order to accelerate the transition to machine learning. The first step should be to consolidate redundant legacy and on-premise IT tools into a single data model.

Establish Value Realization

Articulate the business value of all technology goals, then determine how best to reach those goals. This includes examining existing processes to identify which unstructured work patterns will benefit most from automation. Determining where fragmented data “lives” will enable you to identify how automation will lead to gains in productivity.

Create the Best Possible Customer Experience

Using machine learning for automation will boost operational efficiency, but do not overlook the ROI of accelerating decision making (without sacrificing accuracy) to improve the customer experience. Start by envisioning the customer experience you want to create, then prioritize investment against those elements of business processes that could most improve the customer experience. Machine learning allows organizations to personalize advertisements, call-center interactions and even products and services for individual customers—and to predict what they want next.

Set and Measure Metrics

CIOs understand the value that machine learning offers, but the other members of the senior executive team and board may not. CIOs must therefore set expectations, develop metrics of success before beginning the implementation process and prepare a solid business case to present to the leadership team when requesting the necessary funding. Metrics will need to change as you adopt machine learning capabilities and reap the benefits of intelligent automation.

Understand the Effect on Corporate Culture

How employees’ roles will change as the organization introduces machine learning requires CIOs to adjust their hiring and training processes. This should not be too difficult, as it requires the same skill sets needed for the cloud era, such as data science, engineering, math and critical thinking. This transformation will likely be uncomfortable for some employees, so be sure to communicate the value machine learning will bring to their day-to-day work. The machines are not taking over the enterprise—they will alleviate employees of tedious manual processes and free them up to focus on more strategic projects.

It’s also important to understand that CIOs are not immune to that uncomfortable feeling. Their roles must evolve as well from being responsible for keeping the lights on when it comes to operational matters to an executive who has a much broader engagement across the business and, therefore, a new level of strategic importance.

Realizing a return on machine learning investments requires planning and disciplined follow-through—all while adjusting employees to how rapid and ongoing technology changes will affect their day-to-day work. Following the five steps described above will ease that transition for Middle East organizations.

Tasty superfood from plant cell cultures

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland is developing a new and promising method of producing healthy and tasty plant-based food through plant cell culture (PCC) technology rather than field cultivation. The development work was elevated to a whole new level by a study on the nutritional properties of PCCs grown from cloudberry, lingonberry and stoneberry. Their nutritional value was proven to be much higher than anticipated, in addition to having a nice sensory profile.

In recent years, VTT has developed plant cell culture technologies with the aim of creating a completely new and groundbreaking method of producing vegetable foodstuffs and ingredients. As shown by the results of the study published in an article in the food science and technology journal Food Research International in February 2018, the production method developed at VTT is looking more promising than ever.

Population growth and food demands

“This is not only a completely new opportunity for the food industry but to society as a whole. There is not enough arable land to meet the growing global population’s food demands; new solutions are desperately needed. Cell cultures have serious potential for meeting this need,” says Emilia Nordlund, Leader of VTT’s Food Solutions Team.

Cell culture production of meat has been a popular topic in public discussion. In the future, however, PCCs can be used to produce food that has higher nutritional value in a considerably faster and easier way and at lower costs.

Nutritional and sensory properties

The objective of VTT’s study was to examine the nutritional and sensory properties of dried and fresh cells grown from cloudberry, lingonberry and stoneberry by using PCC technology.

The PCC samples had a pleasant, fresh and mild flavour, which resembled that of corresponding fresh fruits. The berry-like flavour was more intense in the dried samples, which were also melting appealingly in mouth. The visual appearance of cell cultures also resembled that of the corresponding fresh fruits.

The plant cells were proven to be nutritionally valuable – in most respects even more so than fruits. The PCC samples had high protein content of 14-19%, and in vitro analysis showed good protein digestibility. The contents of essential amino acids important to muscle, bone and tissue health were higher than those reported for soy, which is considered an excellent source of amino acids. The dietary fibre of the samples varied between 21 and 37%, which is clearly more than in breakfast cereals, for example. Energy content was also higher than anticipated. The PCC samples were also found to be rich sources of unsaturated fatty acids. A previous study of VTT has shown that cell cultures have high contents of polyphenols that are known for their health-promoting effects (Ref. Planta, 2017).

Limitless variations

“Biomass produced with plant cell culture technology should be considered as completely new food material, which is why their characteristics should not necessarily be compared with corresponding fresh fruits. Their excellent nutritional properties are a sign of great future potential of plant cell cultures in creating new types of superfoods. The variations produced by using different plants offer limitless possibilities,” says Heiko Rischer, Leader of VTT’s Plant Biotechnology Research Team.

For the food industry, plant cells and their dried versions offer opportunities to create new types of healthy food products and ingredients, such as smoothies, caviar-like compotes and snack foods. The key thing to remember in product development and from the logistics point of view is that all materials are always at their best when they are fresh. However, only the sky seems to be the limit when exploring new product innovations with the cell materials.

For example, in the “Food My Way” project, VTT’s scientists are currently coming up with ideas for future food vending machines that enable consumers to buy healthy food products tailored to their personal tastes. An appliance designed for use in a café or restaurant could include a bioreactor for growing a fresh cell compote to be added to a food product.

In addition to further research on the subject with new cell lines and food design, the market entry of PCCs requires regulatory approval as a novel food.

VTT is actively developing the concept further in the frame of the strategic Food 4.0 vision and invites parties interested in developing new plant materials, the related production processes and equipment to collaborate.

وباعتبارها المؤسسة الوحيدة التي تقدم هذه الشهادة، سيتيح المعهد فرصة الحصول عليها لعشرة طلاب من كل جامعة، بما في ذلك طلاب المرحلة الجامعية والدراسات العليا المسجلين في الدورات المعتمدة للمحاسبة أو الأعمال التجارية. واتساقاً مع معايير المحاسبة المصرية الجديدة التي تم طرحها في يناير 2016، التي تمكن المؤسسات من تنظيم دورات تدريبية وتسهيل فهمها*، تدرك الجامعات المرموقة في جميع أنحاء مصر أهمية شهادة المحاسب الإداري المعتمد في مساعدة طلاب المحاسبة والتخصصات المالية على التفوق في وظائفهم مستقبلاً. وشهد هذا العام حصول طلاب 7 جامعات مصرية على منح دراسية كاملة لنيل هذه الشهادة، بما في ذلك جامعة القاهرة وجامعة دمياط وجامعة حلوان وجامعة كفر الشيخ وجامعة المنصورة وجامعة طنطا وجامعة الزقازيق.
