دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة، 1 نوفمبر 2021 – تعاونت "إبسون" مع مصمم الأزياء العالمي مايكل سينكو في ابتكار مجموعة ربيع وصيف 2022 خلال أسبوع الموضة العربي الذي أقيم في حي دبي للتصميم. وساعدت الحلول المبتكرة من إبسون المصمّم الفلبيني المقيم في دبي، على ابتكار تصاميم مستدامة عبر تقنيات تتطلب كميات أقلّ من المياه والطاقة وتفرز كمية أقل من النفايات مقارنة بأساليب الطباعة التقليدية.

Desert Control and Mawarid extend agreement and prepare strategic partnership

 

United Arab Emirates, 1 November 2021: Norwegian AgTech Company Desert Control has developed a liquid natural clay that can turn desert into arable land and reduce water usage for agriculture, forests, and green landscapes. The company entered an agreement and launched a pilot project with Mawarid Holding Inv. and Barari Natural Resources in UAE. Based on positive interim results from the pilot, the parties extend the agreement with additional strategic initiatives. Further, the parties announce the intention to move forward to prepare a strategic partnership to accelerate deployment of Liquid Natural Clay (LNC) for large scale operations in the United Arab Emirates.

Desert Control and Mawarid Holding Inv. reports positive development of the pilot project for initiatives to strengthen food security while reducing water requirement for agriculture, forest and green landscapes. Based on the positive interim results and successful cooperation, the agreement is being extended to include more strategic crops and applications of LNC that can further expand business opportunities. Both parties’ express commitment to move forward towards a strategic partnership for accelerated deployment of LNC within the United Arab Emirates and the wider Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

The potential, however, is much bigger and can contribute significantly to projects such as KSA and Middle East Green Initiative to plant 50 billion trees, equal to restore 200 million hectares of degraded land, and reducing global carbon emission levels by 2,5%.

The parties emphasizes that the pilot project is extended, and therefore not completed. Final results are expected during the second half of November and may differ from preliminary results.

AFRICA OIL WEEK TO INITIATE DISCUSSIONS ON DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION IN THE ENERGY SECTOR

 

In partnership with Lean In Energy (LIEN), the conference will host the AOW Accelerates: Diversity & Inclusion, an evolving initiative that champions greater diversity and gender parity across the industry.


Dubai, UAE, Monday, November 1 2021: Africa Oil Week (AOW) and Lean In Energy (LIEN) join forces to host AOW Accelerates Diversity & Inclusion at AOW 2021with the aim of driving greater equity practices at workplaces of the future, particularly for women, across the energy sector. The initiative will explore the role of diversity and inclusion within Africa’s energy transition, host progressive dialogue and drive inclusive growth across the industry while welcoming male allies into discussions.

بالشراكة مع "لين إن إنيرجي" (LIEN)، يستضيف المؤتمر مبادرة "مسرعات أسبوع النفط الإفريقي: التنوع والشمول"، لتشجيع قدر أكبر من التنوع والمساواة بين الجنسين في مختلف جوانب قطاع الطاقة

دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة، 1 نوفمبر 2021: بهدف تشجيع الممارسات التي تضمن قدرًا أكبر من المساواة في مكان العمل في مختلف جوانب قطاع الطاقة، لا سيما بالنسبة للمرأة، ، يتعاون "أسبوع النفط الإفريقي" مع "لين إن إنيرجي" (LIEN) لاستضافة مبادرة "مسرعات أسبوع النفط الإفريقي: التنوع والشمول 2021" التي تركز على دور التنوع والشمول في التحول الذي يشهده قطاع الطاقة في إفريقيا، من خلال حوارات بناءة تستضيف نخبة من الخبراء والمختصين من الجنسين، بهدف دفع النمو الشامل في قطاع الطاقة.

ولتمكين الجيل المقبل من القيادات النسائية في قطاع الطاقة، ينظم "أسبوع النفط الإفريقي" جلسات نقاشية تشارك فيها قيادات نسائية تجاربهن وخبراتهن ووجهات نظرهن في قطاع الطاقة. كما تناقش الجلسات الحوارية موضوعات مهمة تشمل المساواة عبر كامل سلسلة القيمة في قطاع الطاقة الإفريقي، إضافة إلى توصيات حول المسار الذي يجب اتباعه لتعزيز مشاركة المرأة في القطاع.

وقال لامي فير، الرئيس المشارك لمنطقة أوروبا وإفريقيا جنوب الصحراء في "لين إن إنيرجي": "في "لين" تتمثل رسالتنا في تمكين المرأة، والشركاء، وجميع المعنيين في قطاع الطاقة، لتحقيق طموحاتهم من خلال توفير الاستشارات والتوجيه الفردي، إضافة إلى تعزيز الوعي والتعليم وتقديم الدعم. وتوفر شراكتنا مع أسبوع النفط الإفريقي، منصة تتعاون من خلالها المؤسستان للوصول إلى جمهور أوسع. وعبر توحيد جهودنا، نضمن أن يصل صوت المرأة إلى دوائر صنع القرار مع توفير المسارات اللازمة لتحقيق التحول في قطاع الطاقة العالمي والوصول إلى اقتصاد منخفض الكربون."

دور مهم للمرأة

بينما يستعد العالم لتسريع مسيرة التحول في قطاع الطاقة والتوجه نحو اقتصاد منخفض الكربون، من الضروري التأكيد على دور التنوع والإنصاف والشمول، فالفجوة الحالية في القوى العاملة كبيرة للغاية. ونظرًا للتحوّل الذي تشهده قارة إفريقيا نتيجة الاكتشافات البترولية، والتغيرات في توجهات القطاع، وتبني الطاقة المتجددة والتقنيات الحديثة، بات التنوع في القوى العاملة ضروريًا، وبالتالي، سيكون للمرأة بالفعل دور أساس في تعزيز نجاح قطاع الطاقة.

من جهتها، قالت سينثيا لومور، نائب المدير العام في "تولو غانا": "بينما تسعى دول العالم لجعل التنوع والشمول جزءًا من استراتيجياتها، من المشجع رؤية أننا نلعب أيضًا دورًا في تعزيز التنوع والشمول في إفريقيا، وخاصة في قطاع الطاقة. وأنا على ثقة من أن مبادرة "مسرعات أسبوع النفط الإفريقي" ستوفر منصة رئيسة لتمكين المرأة وتشجيعها على المشاركة في صنع القرار وتعزيز نمو القطاع، كما تنسجم هذه المبادرة مع هدف المساواة بين الجنسين الذي حددته الأمم المتحدة ضمن أهداف التنمية المستدامة السبعة عشر. لقد أثبتت المرأة أن لديها قدرات هائلة وأنه يمكنها الإسهام بشكل كبير في أي قطاع. لذا، من الضروري إشراكها في النقاشات المهمة التي يمكن أن تعيد تشكيل قطاع الطاقة."

وقال بول سنكلير، نائب رئيس الطاقة ومدير العلاقات الحكومية في أسبوع الطاقة الإفريقي وسلسلة مؤتمرات طاقة المستقبل في إفريقيا: "لطالما كانت النقاشات المتعلقة بالشمولية والتنوع ضرورية في مختلف القطاعات، وبدون شك، يحتاج قطاع الطاقة إلى مشاركة أكبر من المرأة، فالمهارات والقدرات الفريدة  التي تمتلكها يمكن أن تدفع بالابتكار قدمًا وتعزز التحول في هذا القطاع. ولتسهيل هذه الخطوة الإيجابية، فإن تعاوننا مع "لين إن إنيرجي" أمر بالغ الأهمية، فهدفنا الرئيس هو بدء حوار هادف وبنّاء لضمان النمو الشامل عبر قطاع الطاقة الذي تشارك فيه المرأة بنسبة أكبر، حيث نسعى لأن تكون أصوات النساء مسموعة وأن يكنّ شريكات لنا في جهود إعادة رسم مستقبل صناعة الطاقة."

مؤخرًا، أطلقت "لين إن إنيرجي" و"أسبوع الطاقة الإفريقي" قائمة النساء الملهمات في قطاع الطاقة لعام 2021، وتضم 50 امرأة من مختلف أنحاء إفريقيا وفي مختلف المناصب القيادية، وجميعهن يعملن ويحفّزن الآخرين في قطاع الطاقة الإفريقي. ونظرًا لأن قطاع الطاقة التقليدي على وشك أن يشهد تحولات جديدة، فإن الوقت الحالي أكثر أهمية من أي مرحلة سابقة لتعزيز الوعي بالتنوع والشمول في قطاع الطاقة، وضمان أن يكون للمرأة صوت ورأي في صياغة هذا التحول.

ويجمع أسبوع النفط الإفريقي 2021، الذي سيعقد من 8 إلى 11 نوفمبر 2021 في دبي، نخبة من صناع القرار والوزراء والمسؤولين من العديد من الدول الإفريقية إضافة إلى دولة الإمارات. وسيوفر المؤتمر منصة للنقاشات الضرورية والحلول والمشاركة الإيجابية حول التحديات الرئيسة التي تواجه قطاع الطاقة في إفريقيا، كما سيسهل الشراكات مع المعنيين في الشرق الأوسط واستقطاب الاستثمارات إلى قطاع النفط والغاز الإفريقي.
