Arabian Cement Company Receives Top Global Energy Management Award

Cairo, Egypt, 12 June, 2017

Arabian Cement Company (ACC) won the 2017 Award of Excellence in Energy Management from the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM8), a high-level global forum that promotes policies and programs to advance clean energy. CEM8 energy ministers presented this prestigious CEM award to Mr. Mahmoud Mohsen, Director of the Energy Department at ACC, at the annual CEM meeting in Beijing, China on 8 June 2017. An independent panel of international experts selected only three organizations worldwide for this top honor in energy management. ACC is the first in Egypt and second across the Middle East to receive this award since the launch of the program in 2010.

“As a leading player in the Egyptian market, we are constantly looking for ways to make our business more environmentally friendly as well as more efficient. With strong commitment towards enhancing our operations, we were among the first cement producers to substitute natural gas with alternative fuel in Egypt,” said Sergio Alcantarilla, Chief Executive Officer of ACC. “Substituting natural gas with alternative energy sources rendered our operations safer to the community in which we are located and helped reducing the consumption of natural gas. As such, we’re determined to continue to adhere to the international best practices in this field, as we remain at the forefront of our sector.”

This award is part of the CEM Energy Management Leadership Awards program, managed by CEM’s Energy Management Working Group (EMWG), which includes representatives from Australia, Canada, Chile, China, Denmark, the European Commission, Finland, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Sweden, United Arab Emirates, and the United States. To enter the awards program, ACC developed and submitted a detailed case study describing its experiences and results using ISO 50001 at ACC’s plant. This award-winning case study is available on the CEM website as an inspiration and resource for other organizations interested in achieving significant and enduring energy and cost savings.

In the case study, ACC describes key aspects of its ISO 50001-certified energy management system and identifies resulting benefits, including the following:

·         8% energy performance improvement over 3 years

·         Around $9 million annual energy cost savings and 1.3 years payback period

·         Around 130,000 ton carbon emissions avoided over 3 years

·         Long term reduction in operation and maintenance costs through energy efficient designs and procurement strategy

·         Better competitiveness resulting from alleviating the cost of traditional energy sources

·         Improved operation efficiency

·         Improved maintenance practices

 الشركة العربية للأسمنت تحصل على جائزة عالمية رفيعة في مجال إدارة الطاقة

حصلت الشركة العربية للأسمنت على جائزة التميز في إدارة الطاقة لعام 2017 من المنتدى الثامن للطاقة النظيفة (CEM8) والذي يُعد من أبرز المنتديات التي تروج للبرامج والسياسات الخاصة بالطاقة النظيفة على مستوى العالم. قام منتدى CEM8 بتقديم تلك الجائزة الرفيعة للسيد/ محمود محسن، مدير الطاقة بالشركة العربية للأسمنت، خلال الاجتماع السنوي للمنتدى بالعاصمة الصينية بكين، حيث قامت لجنة تحكيم مستقلة من خبراء الطاقة باختيار 3 شركات فقط على مستوى العالم للحصول على هذا التكريم العالمي في مجال إدارة الطاقة. وتعد العربية للأسمنت هي الشركة الوحيدة في مصر والثانية على مستوى الشرق الأوسط التي تحصل على هذه الجائزة منذ انطلاق برنامج الجوائز في 2010.

تأتي هذه الجائزة الرفيعة في إطار برنامج CEM لجوائز الريادة في مجال إدارة الطاقة والذي تنظمه وتديره مجموعة عمل EMWG لإدارة الطاقة وتضم ممثلين من كل من استراليا وكندا وتشيلي والصين والدنمارك والبعثة الأوروبية وفنلندا وألمانيا والهند وإندونيسيا واليابان وكوريا والمكسيك والمملكة العربية السعودية وجنوب أفريقيا والسويد والإمارات العربية المتحدة والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية. وحتى تتمكن من الالتحاق بهذا البرنامج، قامت الشركة العربية للأسمنت بوضع وتقديم دراسة حالة مفصلة لوصف تجاربها والنتائج المتنوعة بعد تطبيقها لمعايير شهادة ISO 50001 في مصنع العربية للأسمنت. دراسة الحالة التي أعدتها الشركة متاحة على موقع المنتدى CEM websiteباعتبارها دراسة متميزة ومُلهِمة للشركات الأخرى، خاصة الشركات المهتمة بتحقيق وفورات حقيقية في الطاقة والتكاليف التشغيلية.  

وخلال دراسة الحالة، وضعت العربية للأسمنت وصفاً مفصلاً للموضوعات الرئيسية التي تتضمنها شهادة ISO 50001 لنظم إدارة الطاقة، كما حددت عدداً من المزايا الناتجة عن تلك الشهادة والتي تتضمن:

·        تحسن بنسبة 8% في أداء الطاقة على مدار 3 سنوات

·        تحقيق وفورات سنوية في تكاليف الطاقة بقيمة حوالي ٩ مليون دولار وفترة استرداد يبلغ مداها 1.3 سنة

Careem Announces Launch in Palestine

Operations to launch in Ramallah with further expansion planned across additional cities

Careem will begin operations in Ramallah this month on 15 June 2017 with plans to extend into more cities in the near future. On this date, residents will be able to request a car type via the Careem app. A local company established in 2012, Careem now operates in more than 50 cities across 13 countries and hosts over 10 million users and 250,000 Captains (drivers) in the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia region.

Over one million new Mobile Internet usersadded per day

Ericsson(NASDAQ:ERIC)foreseescontinued rapid growth of mobile connectivity asglobal mobile data trafficincreases to eight times its current level by 2022.

This traffic is the equivalent of:

· The population of Spain streaming HD video 24 hours per day for a month

·  A single subscriber streaming HD video continuously for 3.55 million years

·  31 billion hours of continuous HD video streaming

For the next six years, nearly 2.6 billion new subscribers will be added to mobile broadband networks –enough to fill a European championship soccer stadium (with capacity of 50,000) 20 times each day.As many people went to Times Square in New York to welcome in the new year for 2017.

The latest collection of statistics about the growth of subscribers and data traffic in mobilenetworks ispresented in theJune edition of the Ericsson Mobility Report. It shows the highest year-on-year mobile data growth globally since 2013, led by massivegrowth in India, and highlights the underlying need for mobile data.

The use of smartphones and easy access to mobile internet services comprise a major part of the traffic numbers. Ericsson analyzes “smartphone mobile data traffic” within “mobile data traffic” to illustrate this trend more clearly. By the end of 2022, total smartphone mobile data traffic will have increased9X, reaching 66ExaBytes per month.

Niklas Heuveldop, Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Technology and Emerging Business, Ericsson, says: “Based on measurements made in hundreds of mobile networks, the Ericsson Mobility Report data truly illustrates the tremendous underlying growth in the industry. 4G subscriptions are increasing faster than ever, Voice over LTE uptake is accelerating and traffic growth has reached levels we have not seen since 2013.

“I am particularly excited to see the industry’s major steps to progress network evolution, including the approval of the Non-Standalone 5G New Radio (NR) that will enable early 5G deployments. According to our forecast we anticipate that this will lead to more than half a billion 5G subscriptions and a population coverage 15 percent by 2022.”

On industry trends, the Mobility Report features articles on Internet for all, massive IoT coverage in cities and remote operation of vehicles with 5G.

LTE BECOMING MOST PERVASIVE TECHNOLOGY IN HISTORY

In 2018, LTE (4G) will overtake GSM as the largest access technology by number of subscriptions. The speed with which this technology has been rolled out and adopted is unprecedented. It has taken only five years for LTE to cover 2.5 billion people, compared to eight years for WCDMA/HSPA, or 3G. In the first quarter of this year alone, 250 million new LTE subscriptions were added.

While LTE uptake is driven by demand for improved user experience and faster networks, 5G deployment will also be driven by the need for enhanced mobile broadband capabilities as well as industry solutions for efficiency and automation. 5G will be the one network to support a diversity of use cases. More than half a billion 5G subscriptions are expected to be activated by 2022, not including IoT connections. 5G is then expected to cover around 15 percent of the world’s population.

تقرير إريكسون: أكثر من مليون مستخدم للإنترنت المتنقل يتم إضافتهم إلى الشبكة يومياً

· وفقاً للنسخة الأخيرة من تقرير إريكسون للإتصالات المتنقلة سيتم إضافة 2.6 مليار مستخدم جديد لحزمة الاتصالات المتنقلة العريضة بحلول العام 2022- بمعدل مليون مستخدم يومياً

·ستهيمن تقنية LTE (المعروفة أيضاً بتقنية الجيل الرابع) على شبكات الانترنت بحلول العام 2018، مما سيجعلها تقنية الاتصالات المتنقلة الأكثر نمواً وسرعة في التاريخ.

·ارتفاع حركة البيانات في شبكات الاتصالات المتنقلة بمعدل  70% بين الربع الأول من العام 2016 وحتى الربع الأول من العام 2017.

توقعت إريكسون ( المسجلة في ناسداك: إريك)  استمرار النمو السريع في مجال الاتصالات المتنقلة، وذلك على ضوء توقع ارتفاع حركة البيانات المتنقلة عالمياً بمعدل  8 مرات عن المعدل الحالي بحلول العام 2022.

وتعادل حركة البيانات هذه:

·    مشاهدة سكان اسبانيا لمقاطع فيديو بدقة عالية   HDعلى مدى 24 ساعة لمدة شهر

·استمرار مشترك واحد بمشاهدة مقاطع فيديو بدقة عالية HD بشكل مستمر لمدة 3.55 مليار سنة

·31 مليار ساعة من مشاهدة مقاطع فيديو بشكل مستمر.

ستشهد السنوات الست المقبلة إضافة حوالي 2.6 مليار مشترك جديد إلى شبكات الاتصال المحمول من النطاق العريض، بمعدل مليون شخص يومياً، وهو عدد كاف لملء مقاعد ستاد مخصص لبطولة كأس أوروبا لكرة القدم (بقدرة استيعابية 50000) لعشرين مرة في يوم واحد، وهو ذات العدد الذي تجمع في ساحة تايم سكوير بنيويورك لاستقبال العام الجديد 2017.

وقد تم الإعلان عن الإحصاءات الأخيرة فيما يتعلق بنمو حجم المشتركين وحركة البيانات بشبكات الاتصالات المتنقلة في نسخة يونيو من تقرير الإتصالات المتنقلة الذي أصدرته إريكسون، وقد أظهر هذا التقرير بأن بيانات الاتصال المتنقلة تشهد نمواً سنوياً ملحوظاَ منذ عام 2013، نتيجة النمو الهائل الذي تشهده الهند، وارتفاع الحاجة للبيانات المتنقلة على الصعيد العالمي.  

ويعتبر ارتفاع عدد مستخدمي الهواتف الذكية والنفاذ السهل لخدمات الانترنت المتنقلة من أهم الأسباب المؤدية لارتفاع حركة البيانات وقد قامت اريكسون بتحليل " حركة بيانات الاتصالات المتنقلة في الهواتف الذكية" في إطار "حركة بيانات الاتصالات المتنقلة"  لشرح هذا التوجه بطريقة واضحة. 

ومن المتوقع بنهاية عام 2022، ارتفاع حركة البيانات بمعدل 9 مرات لتبلغ 66 إكزابايت في الشهر الواحد.

وتعليقاً على الموضوع قال نيكلاس هيوفلدوب، رئيس الوحدة الاستراتيجية ورئيس وحدة التكنولوجيا والأعمال الناشئة بإريكسون: "إن تقرير الإتصالات المتنقلة الذي أطلقناه مؤخراً، يظهر الأرقام وحقيقة هذا الاتجاه في مجال الاتصالات المتنقلة وكيفية تأثيره على حياتنا اليومية و الحياة العملية الصناعية، و يظهر الزيادة في اشتراكات الجيل الرابع 4G بشكل أسرع من أي وقت مضى، و يظهر حركة نمو لم نشهدها منذ عام 2013". 

و أضاف هيوفلدوب:" انا متحمس بشكل خاص لرؤية الخطوات الرئيسية في الصناعة بما في ذلك انتشار الجيل الخامس في وقت مبكر، فأننا نتوقع أن يؤدي ذلك على أكثر من نصف مليار مشترك بالجيل الخامس 5G أي ما يعادل 15% من سكان العالم بحلول عام 2022".

وفيما يخص مجال الأعمال، يتضمن تقرير الإتصالات المتنقلة العديد من المقالات حول الانترنت للجميع، تغطية واسعة النطاق لإنترنت الأشياء في المدن، والتحكم بالمركبات عن بعد بفضل تقنية الجيل الخامس. 

تقنية LTE  تصبح أكثر التقنيات انتشاراً في التاريخ

ستسيطر تقنية LTE (الجيل الرابع) على النظام العالمي للاتصالات المتنقلة كأكبر تقنيات النفاذ لناحية عدد المشاركين، حيث تشهد سرعة الاتصالات بفضل هذه التقنية نسباً لم تكن مشهودة سابقاً، وقد احتاجت تقنية LTE لخمس سنوات فقط لتغطية حاجات 2.5 مليار شخص مقارنة بمدة 8 سنوات التي احتاجتها تقنية WCDMA/HSPA أو الجيل الثالث، حيث شهد الربع الأول من هذا العام وحده إضافة 250 مليون مشترك إلى شبكة LTE. 

وبينما يرتبط نمو تقنية LTE بارتفاع الطلب على تكنولوجيا المعلومات بهدف تحسين تجربة المستخدمين وتسريع الشبكات، فإن انتشار تقنية الجيل الخامس سيكون مدعوما بالحاجة إلى تعزيز قدرات النطاق العريض للاتصالات المتنقلة فضلا عن الحلول الخاصة بالقطاعات من أجل الكفاءة . 

ومن المتوقع أن يبلغ عدد المشتركين بشبكة تقنية الجيل الخامس عام 2022 حوالي 500 مليون مشترك، دون احتساب أجهزة انترنت الأشياء المتصلة لذا فمن المتوقع بأن تغطي تقنية الجيل الخامس حاجة حوالي 15% من سكان العالم.

The visual impact of Eurocube E could hardly be any more different. Its contemporary and clearly minimalist design makes a highly confident statement. All details down to the unobtrusive mixing lever share the same design language, resulting in a perfectly poised sculpture.

State-of-the-art technology

Both faucets can be optimally paired with numerous washbasin variants. Their bi-directional sensors are positioned for flawless functionality even when mounted on washbasins with elevated edges. For added versatility, the modern infrared units come with seven pre-programmed standard settings for the most common applications. In addition, facility managers can retrieve important information on water consumption and faucet usage. As always, the element of sustainability has also been taken into account: the sensor-controlled start-stop function automatically ensures that water only flows as long as a user’s hands are detected below the spout. At the same time, the faucets economies on water by capping consumption at 5.7 litres per minute without compromising on user comfort.

من خلال اعادة تصميم وهندسة مجموعتي Essence E و  Eurocube Eتطمح غروهي إلى إحداث ثورة عالمية في تصميم الصنابير الإلكترونية. وتعتبر هاتان المجموعتان من التصاميم الأكثر تعبيراً وجاذبية في قطاع صنابير الأشعة ما تحت الحمراء.  سواء كانت تحوّلات مجموعة  Essence E  التي تتدفق بهدوء، او الموقع الهندسي لل  Eurocube E ، فمن الواضح انه تم اخذ تصميم الحنفيات الإلكترونية إلى حدود أوسع.

التقدم في الفن التكنولوجي

يمكن للمجموعان التعاون مع العديد من صنابير المغاسل. ويتم وضعها على أجهزة استشعار ثنائية الاتجاه للحصول على وظائف لا تشوبه شائبة حتى عندما شنت على مغاسل مع حواف مرتفعة. لإضافة البراعة،  تأتي الأشعة ما تحت الحمراء العصرية مع 7 إعدادات قياسية مبرمجة مسبقا للتطبيقات الأكثر شيوعاً. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، يمكن لمديري المرافق انقاذ معلومات دقيقة عن استهلاك المياه واستخدام الصنابير. كالعادة، تم اخذ عنصر الاستدامة في الاعتبار: يعمل تدفق المياه تحت سيطرة استشعار التلقائي الذي يشتغل فقط عند استشعار بيد المستهلك تحت الصنبور وعلى أثرها يبدأ تدفق المياه او توقيفها. في الوقت عينه، تقتصد الصنابير في المياه من خلال استهلاك 5.7 ليتر في الدقيقة من دون مساومة راحة المستهلك.
