Cisco estimates that cybersecurity will drive $7.6 trillion of digital value over the next decade. More than three-quarters of this amount – $5.8 trillion – will result from cybersecurity’s enablement of digital use cases that instigate innovation and growth. As much as digitization and the Internet of Things (IoT) provides opportunities to businesses, consumers and citizens, they also create greater opportunities for attackers as modern networks and their components constantly evolve and spawn new attack vectors.

“According to the recent 2016 Cisco Midyear Cybersecurity Report, it becomes clear that attackers are using applications that users inherently trust or view as benign, further citing that no matter how many advances the security industry makes, criminals will continue to evolve their approaches to break through defences. To be effective, solutions must work towards providing superior visibility, continuous control, and advanced threat protection across the extended network and the entire attack continuum. Threats may be lurking in places that are not very obvious. Therefore, organizations need to be more cautious than ever and invest in solutions that take a holistic approach to security,” concluded Manson.
At RSA 2016, Cisco will demonstrate how an integrated threat defense architecture can help businesses see 100% of their extended networks and defend it faster. Cisco makes security effective by making it simple, open and automated, offering intelligence-led security in order to reduce time to detection and time to resolution via Talos, which has essentially the biggest security research team focused on threat intelligence, globally. Intelligence must be shared and span the extended network and new, connected devices – empowering security technologies and security services teams with intelligence that is actionable and specific to the organization.

تقدّر سيسكو بأن الأمن الإلكتروني سيساهم في تحقيق قيمة رقمية بواقع 7.6 تريليون دولار خلال العقد المقبل، بحيث تنتج أكثر من ثلاثة أرباع هذا المبلغ، أي حوالي 5.8 تريليون دولار، عن تمكين الأمن الإلكتروني لنماذج الاستخدام الرقمي التي تحفز النمو والابتكار. وبقدر ما يوفر التحول الرقمي إنترنت الأشياء فرصاً للشركات والمستهلكين والناس عموماً، فإنهما يخلقان فرصاً أكبر أمام المهاجمين في ضوء ال التطور المستمر للشبكات المعاصرة ومكوناتها، مما يشجع ظهور عناصر جديدة للهجمات.
في حديثه عن الأمر قال سكوت مانسون، مدير الأمن الإلكتروني لدى سيسكو في الشرق الأوسط وتركيا: "تطورت الوسائل الرقمية لتصبح المحور الأساسي للقطاعات والصناعات، مما يعني ان لم يعد بإمكان الشركات تجاهل النقلة الهائلة التي تحدث في هذا السياق ، وبخاصة لأن الجميع، بمن فيهم العملاء والشركاء الحاليون والمستقبليون، يتبنون التقنيات الرقمية بشكل كبير. ونظراً للتزايد السريع في استخدام الأجهزة الرقمية والنقلة الكبيرة في مجالات التعاون وانتشار الخدمات السحابية وازدياد المنافسة، تسعى الشركات إلى تعزيز الكفاءة باستمرار من خلال استخدام التقنية. فالشركات تدرك أن المنصات الرقمية هي السبيل الأمثل لتحقيق النجاح في المشهد الاقتصادي سريع التغيير، حيث تشير التوقعات إلى أن 75 بالمائة من كافة المؤسسات ستكون رقمية بالكامل بحلول العام 2020."
واختتم مانسون حديثه بالقول: "يؤكد تقرير سيسكو نصف السنوي للأمن 2016 أن المهاجمين أصبحوا يستغلّون التطبيقات التي يثق بها المستخدمون أو يرونها خالية من الضرر، مما يشير إلى أن المجرمين سيواصلون تطوير وتغيير أساليبهم مهما حققنا تطوراً في الجانب الأمني، في محاولاتهم المستمرة لاختراق الخطوط الدفاعية. لا بد للحلول الفعالة من توفير إمكانات فائقة للرؤية والتحكم المستمر والحماية المتقدمة ضد التهديدات عبر الشبكة وطيف الهجمات بكامله. فقد تكمن التهديدات في أماكن غير واضحة، ولهذا فإن على المؤسسات أن تكون أكثر حذراً من ذي قبل وأن تستثمر في الحلول التي تقدم مقاربة متكاملة تجاه الأمن."
وخلال الفعالية، تستعرض سيسكو دور البنية الدفاعية المتكاملة ضد الهجمات في مساعدة الشركات على رؤية 100% من شبكاتها الممتدة وبالتالي الدفاع عنها بسرعة أكبر. فسيسكو تجعل الأمن أكثر فعالية من خلال التبسيط والانفتاح والأتمتة، فيما تقدم الحلول الأمنية المرتكزة على الاستقصاء لتقليل الوقت اللازم للكشف عن التهديدات والزمن المستغرق لحلها من خلال "تالوس" Talos – والتي تمتلك أكبر فريق للأبحاث الأمنية المركزة على استقصاء التهديدات في العالم. فلا بد من تبادل البيانات الاستقصائية بحيث تمتد عبر الشبكة بكاملها وتغطي الأجهزة الجديدة والمرتبطة – مما يمكّن فرق تقنيات الأمن والخدمات الأمنية من الحصول على بيانات استقصائية يستطيعون الاستفادة منها بشكل يناسب سياق مؤسساتهم.
