Chișinău, Republic of Moldova, October 30, 2025 -- Moldova attracts a new European investment. Dutch company Heisterkamp Transportation Solutions, one of the continent's leaders in transport and logistics, has announced the expansion of its operations in Eastern Europe with the opening of a facility at the Moldova Innovation Technology Park (MITP).

“Heisterkamp Transportation Solutions is expanding its European footprint with a new presence in the Republic of Moldova. We recognize the country’s growing reputation for talent and innovation, and we are confident that this next milestone will contribute to our collective success while reflecting our ongoing commitment to growth and the development of strong partnerships across Europe,”

mentioned Vincent van der Graaff, Country Manager of Heisterkamp.

A century of history and a modern vision

Founded in 1919, Heisterkamp is a family business with over a century of experience in international transport. The company operates a fleet of over 800 trucks and 9.000 trailers, it has over 1,300 employees, and it has offices in the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Latvia, and Romania.

Its business model integrates road transport services, vehicle leasing, maintenance and repairs, as well as advanced digital solutions for optimizing logistics operations. Heisterkamp's portfolio serves customers in dynamic industries in the automotive, retail, and FMCG sectors, and its expansion into the Republic of Moldova reflects the company's strategic focus on digitization and intelligent efficiency.

An investment born out of European partnership

Heisterkamp's decision to invest in Moldova is the result of talks that started at the BENELUX–Moldova Economic Forum 2025, an event focused on promoting investment and economic cooperation between our country and the Benelux countries, which helped strengthen bilateral ties and find common opportunities for collaboration.

The implementation of the project is facilitated by the Moldova Innovation Technology Park — the first e-Park in Europe — which offers companies a unique tax regime of 7% of turnoverstate guarantees until 2035, and innovative tools such as IT Visa for foreign specialists and the "Virtuality" principle, which allows operation from anywhere, with total flexibility.

Republic of Moldova – increasingly attractive for BPO and IT companies

Heisterkamp's expansion comes at a time when Moldova is establishing itself as a regional hub for BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) services and technology solutions.

Over the past 15 years, the BPO sector has grown by over 330%, becoming one of the pillars of service exports. According to data from the National Bank of Moldova, the value of BPO service exports increased from $62.1 million in 2010 to $268.4 million in 2024, a new record. In 2024 alone, the increase was 13% compared to the previous year.

A new stage for logistics development in the region

With this investment, Heisterkamp is strengthening its presence in Eastern Europe and its strategic partnership with the Republic of Moldova, a country that is gaining increasing recognition in the field of value-added services.

The new facility will contribute to job creation in the field of data analysis, the transfer of technological expertise, and Moldova's integration into European transport and logistics networks.

This investment confirms the international business community's confidence in local professionalism and competitiveness, strengthening Moldova's position as an attractive destination for companies seeking a stable, tax-friendly, and performance-oriented environment.

"Heisterkamp's investment confirms Moldova's pragmatic appeal to European companies seeking a competitive, stable, and open environment for cooperation. It is clear evidence that our country can become a benchmark for value-added operations and sustainable partnerships in the region. At the same time, we are pleased to see concrete results, through the image of such investments by Heisterkamp, which validate the importance and efficiency of organizing economic forums, such as the one organized in the spring of 2025 with our partners from the Benelux countries."
