United Arab Emirates’ Special Olympics Women’s Unified Football Team Concludes a Training Camp in Japan Training comes in anticipation of the Special Olympics World Games Berlin in June 2023

20 February 2023 Abu Dhabi, 20 February, 2023: Japan has played host to the United Arab Emirates’ Special Olympics women’s unified football team at a week-long training camp held in Makuhari, Chiba. Led by Ms. Houriya Altahri, Coach of the Special Olympics UAE Football Team, the camp was part of the UAE’s preparation for its participation in the Special Olympics World Games Berlin 2023, held from June 17-25, 2023. The 15 team members, including five Special Olympics UAE athletes, four Unified Partners and coach, as well as supporting technical and administrative staff, took part in the training camp, held from 20th to 27th of January, with the aim of integrating the Athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their Partners, with counterparts in Japan. The training camp also aimed to encourage women – both those with and without intellectual disabilities ­­­– to keep their passion for sports alive, as well as creating international experiences to raise the technical skills of the athletes from both the UAE and Japan. The camp also helped the UAE and Japan work together to build stronger ties on and off the football field, promoted social including and reduced inequality, and promoted gender equality, in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Organised by the Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE) and the Japan Football Federation for Persons with Intellectual Disability (JFFID), and supported by the Japan Football Association (JFA), the Special Olympics Nippon Foundation (SON and Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the training camp presented participants with opportunities presented to grow and enhance their technical skills. The camp also symbolized the strengthening of consolidated relations between the UAE and Japan in the area of Unified Sports. Ms. Houriya Altahri, Coach of the UAE Special Olympics Women’s Unified Football Team, was thrilled that her team had the opportunity to participate in such a valuable initiative. “It was a good experience for the players and an opportunity for them to grow,” she said. “I am grateful to the Japanese National Team and related organisations for hosting.” Mr. Masayuki Inaba, Coach of the Japan Women’s National Team, echoed Ms. Altahri’s sentiment. “Above all, I’m happy that a team was formed as the Japanese national team for the first time in football for women of determination, and that the first international friendly match took place. I really appreciate the UAE team coming to spend time with us in Japan during the coldest month, and I hope that we will continue to have a long-term fruitful relationship.” HE Shamma Suhail Al Mazrui, Minister of State for Youth and the Chairwoman of the Special Olympics UAE recorded a video message commending all participants, and encouraging them in their future sporting endeavours. The United Arab Emirates will be sending one of the largest delegations from the MENA region to the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin, including 75 Athletes with intellectual and developmental disabilities, 32 Unified Partners, as well as support staff.

منتخب الإمارات الموحد لكرة القدم للسيدات للأولمبياد الخاص ينهي معسكره التدريبي في اليابان يأتي في إطار الاستعدادات للمشاركة في الألعاب العالمية للأولمبياد الخاص، برلين 2023، شهر يونيو المقبل

أبو ظبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة، 20 فبراير 2023:

استضافت اليابان منتخب الإمارات الموحد لكرة القدم للسيدات للأولمبياد الخاص في معسكر تدريبي نظم على مدى أسبوع في ماكوهاري في مدينة تشيبا.

وشارك المنتخب الإماراتي في هذا المعسكر بقيادة السيدة حورية الطاهري، مدرب فريق الأولمبياد الخاص الإماراتي لكرة القدم للسيدات، كجزء من استعدادات دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة لمشاركتها في الألعاب العالمية للأولمبياد الخاص "برلين 2023 " والمزمع تنظيمها من 17 إلى 25 يونيو المقبل، 2023.

شارك في المعسكر التدريبي الذي أقيم في الفترة من 20 إلى 27 يناير، أعضاء الفريق الخمسة عشر، بما في ذلك خمسة رياضيين من الأولمبياد الخاص الإماراتي، وأربعة شركاء ومدربين موحدين، بالإضافة إلى الجهاز الفني والإداري المساند. كما وهدف المعسكر لتحقيق الدمج المجتمعي بين أصحاب الهمم من ذوي التحديات الذهنية والنمائية وأقرانهم عن طريق ممارسة الرياضة.

كما وهدف المعسكر إلى تشجيع السيدات من ذوي التحديات الذهنية والنمائية أو غيرهن على تعزيز شغفهن بالرياضة وخلق تجارب دولية لرفع المهارات الفنية للرياضيين من دولة الإمارات واليابان والمساعدة في بناء علاقات أقوى داخل وخارج ملعب كرة القدم وتعزيز التنمية المجتمعية بما يتماشى مع أهداف التنمية المستدامة للأمم المتحدة.

نظم المعسكر من قبل مركز اليابان للتعاون الدولي واتحاد كرة القدم الياباني للأشخاص ذوي التحديات الذهنية والنمائية وبدعم من الاتحاد الياباني لكرة القدم ومؤسسة نيبون للأولمبياد الخاص ووزارة الاقتصاد والتجارة والصناعة اليابانية.

وعبرت السيدة حورية الطاهري، المدير الفني لفريق الإمارات للأولمبياد الخاص لكرة القدم للسيدات، عن سعادتها الغامرة لإتاحة الفرصة للفريق للمشاركة في هذا المعسكر وقالت: "لقد كانت تجربة جيدة جداً للاعبين وفرصة للنمو". "أنا ممتنة للفريق الوطني الياباني والمنظمات ذات الصلة على هذه الاستضافة."

وقال السيد ماسايوكي إينابا، مدرب المنتخب الياباني للسيدات: "قبل كل شيء، أنا سعيد لأنه قد تم ولأول مرة تشكيل فريق ياباني وطني لكرة القدم للسيدات من أصحاب الهمم، وأن أول مباراة دولية ودية أقيمت بالفعل بمشاركة هذا الفريق. إنني أقدر كثيراً حضور فريق الإمارات العربية المتحدة لقضاء بعض الوقت معنا في اليابان خلال فصل الشتاء البارد والجميل، وآمل أن نستمر في الحفاظ على علاقة مثمرة طويلة الأمد ".

وسترسل دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة أحد أكبر الوفود من منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا إلى الألعاب العالمية للأولمبياد الخاص في برلين، بما في ذلك 75 رياضيًا من ذوي التحديات الذهنية والتنموية، و32 شريكًا موحدًا، بالإضافة إلى فرق الدعم.
