Dubai-UAE: 04 April, 2022 - Landmark Group – the UAE-based conglomerate with more than 2,200 outlets and 42,000 employees in Middle East, India and South East Asia – announced today the signing of its first sustainability-linked loan amid a pledge to transition towards sustainable finance for the majority of its operations. This marks the first time a private sector company in the UAE signs a bilateral sustainability-linked loan.
Landmark Group also signed up to Standard Chartered’s Sustainable Account proposition, integrating sustainability into to its banking operations. Deposits in Sustainable Accounts are referenced against sustainable projects funded by Standard Chartered across its dynamic Market footprint. These projects, aligned to the Bank’s Green and Sustainable Product Framework, address some of the world’s biggest long-term threats, including climate change and financial exclusion.
In a meeting between Landmark Group’s Chairwoman and CEO Renuka Jagtiani and Standard Chartered Bank , Group CEO Bill Winters, the company made a commitment to convert all its treasury products with the bank to sustainable wherever possible. In a first for the region, Landmark Group has committed that the benefits from any sustainable financing will be deployed towards further sustainable initiatives.

According to guidelines set by the Loan Market Association, sustainability-linked loans incentivise the achievement of ambitious, predetermined performance objectives. The borrower’s sustainability performance is measured using predefined sustainability performance targets, as measured by predefined key performance indicators (KPIs).
For Landmark Group, these KPIs are linked to renewable energy, circularity, and diversity in the workforce. These are some of the key areas where the organisation has made significant strides in recent years towards its larger sustainability goals and the aim is to continue with impactful results.
Landmark Group initiated its social awareness and impact programme about diabetes in 2009 - Beat Diabetes and since has supported various other fund-raising initiatives with partners like Dubai Cares, UNHCR and Saudi Food Bank through its network of stores.
It has also implemented employee initiatives focusing on gender diversity such as ‘Leader from Within’ and ‘HER’ which aim to provide female employees with growth opportunities and equality at work. In Saudi Arabia, the Group has hired 4,600+ females which is approximately 70% of total national hires.
Landmark Group is investing heavily in energy efficiency and waste reduction projects like Smart Energy Management Systems, Building Information Modelling, Motion Sensor Installations etc. The Group brands are members of Better Cotton Initiative & Sustainable Apparel Coalition in an endeavour to improve governance around responsible sourcing.
Recently, Landmark Group has also become a member of the United Nations Global Compact initiative – a voluntary leadership platform for the development, implementation, and disclosure of responsible business practices.

دبي،04 ابريل2022: أعلنت مجموعة لاندمارك، التي تتخذ من الإمارات مقرّاً لها وتمتلك أكثر من 2,200 متجر وتضم 42,000 موظف في الشرق الأوسط والهند وجنوب شرق آسيا، التوقيع على أول قرض مرتبط بالاستدامة، وسط تعهُّد بالتحول نحو التمويل الأخضر في غالبية عملياتها.
وأعلنت مجموعة لاندمارك أيضاً انضمامها إلى الحساب المستدام من ستاندرد تشارترد، بهدف دمج الاستدامة في عملياتها المصرفية، حيث يتم استخدام المبالغ المودعة في هذا الحساب لدعم المشاريع المستدامة الممولة من قبل ستاندرد تشارترد، وفقاً لإطار ستاندرد تشارترد للمنتجات الخضراء والمستدامة، وبهدف التصدي لبعضٍ من أكبر المخاطر طويلة الأمد في العالم، بما في ذلك التغير المناخي والحرمان من التمويل.
والتزمت الشركة بتحويل كل منتجات الخزانة الخاصة بها مع بنك ستاندرد تشارترد إلى خضراء حيثما أمكن ذلك، مع نشر الفوائد لتحقيق المزيد من المبادرات المستدامة، وذلك في اجتماع بين الرئيسة والمديرة التنفيذية لمجموعة لاندمارك رينوكا جاغتياني والرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة ستاندرد تشارترد بنك بيل وينترز. وفي خطوة هي الأولى من نوعها في المنطقة، التزمت مجموعة لاندمارك بأن يتم استخدام العوائد المحققة من أي تمويل مستدام في دعم المزيد من المبادرات المستدامة.

وتحفز القروض المرتبطة بالاستدامة على تحقيق أهداف أداء طموحة ومحددة مسبقاً، تماشياً مع التوجيهات التي وضعتها جمعية سوق القروض. حيث يتم تقييم أداء الاستدامة الخاص بالمقترض باستخدام أهداف أداء الاستدامة المقيمة تبعاً لأداء مؤشرات الأداء الرئيسية.
وترتبط مؤشرات الأداء الرئيسية لمجموعة لاندمارك بالطاقة المتجددة والتدوير والتنوع في القوى العاملة، حيث تشكل هذا المؤشرات بعض من المجالات الرئيسية التي قطعت فيها المجموعة خطوات كبيرة في السنوات الأخيرة نحو أهداف الاستدامة الأكبر التي وضعتها، والهدف هو الاستمرار في تحقيق النتائج ذات الأثر الكبير.
وأطلقت مجموعة لاندمارك برنامجها للتوعية الاجتماعية المتعلق بمرض السكري في العام 2009 - حارب السكري، ودعمت منذ ذلك الوقت الكثير من مبادرات جمع التبرعات مع شركاء مثل دبي العطاء ومفوضية الأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين وبنك الطعام السعودي، من خلال شبكة متاجرها.
كما أطلقت مبادرات للموظفين تركز على التنوع بين الجنسين مثل "القيادي في داخلك" و"لها"، وهي مبادرات تهدف إلى تعزيز فرص النمو والمساواة في العمل. وفي المملكة العربية السعودية، وظفت المجموعة أكثر من 4,600 امرأة، أي ما يعادل حوالى 70٪ من إجمالي التوظيفات فيها.
وتستثمر مجموعة لاندمارك إلى حدٍّ كبير في مشاريع كفاءة الطاقة وتقليل النفايات، مثل أنظمة إدارة الطاقة الذكية ونمذجة معلومات المباني وتركيبات مستشعرات الحركة وغيرها. وتنتسب العلامات التجارية المنضوية في المجموعة إلى مبادرة قطن أفضل وتحالف الملابس المستدامة، في محاولةٍ لتحسين طرق التحكم المتعلقة بالمصادر المسؤولة.
