The Big 5 research has revealed representatives of the UAE’s construction industry most satisfied when rating the performance of their company
60% of respondents expecting to see an increase in their company’s turnover this year;

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 13th November: The Middle East’s largest construction event, The Big 5, which takes place from 25 – 28 November, will launch its first Voice of the Construction Industry Report during the opening day of the conference.
The inaugural report, which is based on a survey carried out by GRS Research & Strategy Middle East, in conjunction with The Big 5 represents the views of 5,951 senior construction industry professionals, based in 136 different countries, making it the largest of its kind.
“This report has been made possible by the size, strength and standing of The Big 5, which celebrates its fortieth anniversary this year,” said Josine Heijmans, Portfolion Director at dmg events.
“We’ve used our event’s market reach to speak to the entire construction industry value chain, from manufacturers and distributors through to contractors, engineers, architects and consultants, the findings are relevant to anyone whose work intersects with the construction industry,” added Heijmans.
The responses have been segmented by business type, seniority, geographic location, and company turnover, allowing for a detailed analysis of the issues influencing each sector and how they are shaping the industry.
The Voice of the Construction Industry Report will be unveiled at The Big 5’s invite-only CEO Forum, a conference for 150 CEOs from the region’s leading construction firms.

The UAE has the highest percentage of companies given 5 out of 5 (26.8% of the total) by respondents asked: “How satisfied are you with the current performance of your company?”, with the country ranked number one by average score. By that same average score measure, European organisations came in just behind, with 25.3% given 5 out of 5.
Some 60% of respondents are expecting to see an increase in their company’s turnover this year. Manufacturers and technology providers lead the ranking in terms of business types that expect to see an increase.
In every region considered, more than half of the companies expect the turnover to increase; across Africa (excluding South Africa), 74.8% of companies are expecting growth.
Energy efficiency, prefabrication, and sustainability are the three biggest trends influencing the industry.
More than 45% of the survey respondents are C-suite executives or business owners.

دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة، 13 نوفمبر 2019: سيطلق معرض الخمسة الكبار (The Big 5) الذي يعد أكبر معرض متخصص في قطاع البناء في الشرق الأوسط والمزمع إقامته في الفترة ما بين 25 إلى 28 نوفمبر الحالي، أول تقرير شامل عن صناعة البناء والتشييد في يوم الافتتاح يحمل عنوان "واقع وأصداء قطاع البناء".
يستند التقرير إلى دراسة استقصائية أجرتها شركة "جي آر إس" للأبحاث والاستراتيجيات في الشرق الأوسط بالتعاون مع معرض الخمسة الكبار، استطلعت فيها آراء 5,951 شخص من كبار المتخصصين في قطاع البناء متواجدين في 136 دولة مختلفة حول العالم، وهو ما يجعله الأكبر من نوعه في هذا القطاع.
وفي معرض تعليقها على ذلك، قالت جوسين هيجمانس، مديرة محفظة المعارض في شركة "دي إم جي للفعاليات": "لقد تمكنا من إعداد هذا التقرير الشامل بفضل أهمية وحجم معرض الخمسة الكبار الذي يحتفل هذا العام بمرور 40 عاماً على انطلاقته.
"من خلال شبكة العلاقات القوية التي نمتلكها في معرض الخمسة الكبار، تحدثنا مع مختلف الاختصاصات في قطاع البناء بدءاً من المصنعين والموزعين مروراً بالمقاولين والمهندسين المعماريين والاستشاريين، وكانت النتائج إيجابية للغاية وذات أهمية لأي شخص يعمل بشكلٍ مباشر أو فرعي في هذا القطاع".
تم تقسيم الإجابات والآراء التي ساهمت في صياغة التقرير حسب نوع العمل والأقدمية والموقع الجغرافي وإجمالي مبيعات الشركة، وهو ما ساهم في إجراء تحليل مفصل لجميع القضايا التي تواجه كل قسم من الأقسام التي تشكل هذا القطاع.
وسيتم التطرق بشكلٍ مفصل إلى نتائج التقرير خلال "منتدى الرؤساء التنفيذيين" الذي يجمع 150 شخص من كبار الرؤساء التنفيذيين لأبرز شركات البناء والإنشاءات في المنطقة، بالإضافة إلى بعض الشخصيات المدعوة لحضور هذا المنتدى.
تضمنت نتائج البحث أبرز النقاط التالية:
حصلت دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة على أفضل نتيجة بواقع 5 درجات من أصل 5 وسجلت أعلى نسبة مئوية 26.8% وذلك من خلال إجابة المشاركين عن سؤال: "ما مدى رضاك عن الأداء الحالي لشركتك؟ لتأتي الإمارات في المرتبة الأولى من حيث متوسط الدرجات. وحسب المقياس ذاته، جاءت المنظمات الأوروبية في المركز الثاني بواقع 5 من 5 مع نسبة مئوية أقل بلغت 25.3%.
توقع نحو 60% من المشاركين في الاستطلاع أن تشهد شركاتهم زيادة في إجمالي المبيعات هذا العام، حيث تصدر المصنعون ومزودو التكنولوجيا الترتيب من حيث الأعمال التي ستحقق زيادة في العائدات ضمن هذا القطاع.
في كل منطقة من المناطق الجغرافية التي شملها التقرير، تتوقع أكثر من نصف الشركات أن تشهد زيادة في إجمالي مبيعاتها بما في ذلك منطقة أفريقيا (باستثناء جنوب أفريقيا) التي من المتوقع أن تحقق نحو 74.8% من شركاتها نمواً هذا العام.
هنالك ثلاثة اتجاهات رئيسية تؤثر على قطاع البناء تتمثل في كفاءة الطاقة، التصنيع المسبق، والاستدامة.
أكثر من 45% من المشاركين في الاستطلاع هم من كبار المدراء التنفيذيين أو أصحاب المشاريع.
