The awards also celebrate the achievements of students who have received outstanding results in their regions and students who scored high across a number of subjects in addition to other categories. These outstanding results will be recognized by universities around the world as proof of academic excellence.
Waseem Al Hanbali, Regional Director, Middle East and North Africa, said: “I am very proud to congratulate students across Egypt on their outstanding results in the Cambridge International examinations. These achievements are a credit to the partnerships that Cambridge International has established with schools and demonstrates the dedication and commitment of teachers, the support provided by families and friends, and each student’s own determination and passion to succeed. This success defines them not just as learners but also as Cambridge learners. I wish them every success in their future.”
More schools than ever before chose to teach Cambridge International qualifications this year with exam entries continuing to rise in Egypt and around the world. In Egypt, around 114 schools made nearly 82,000 entries for Cambridge qualifications in the June 2018 exam series. The most popular Cambridge IGCSEs studied by Egyptian students were: English, Physics, and Chemistry. The most popular Cambridge International AS & A Level subjects were: Biology, Mathematics, and Physics.
Over the past five years Cambridge International has seen a combined global growth of 15 per cent in entries for Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International AS & A Level. Globally, over half a million students took Cambridge IGCSE, O Level and International AS & A Level exams this year and will now be planning their next steps into further education or the world of work.
Cambridge International has also seen a significant increase in the number of younger students now studying Cambridge programmes. Entries for Cambridge Primary Checkpoint tests grew by twelve per cent this year, and Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint tests increased by five per cent.
