Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the green city of Al Ain is gearing up to host the Al Ain Legends Bodybuilding Championship and Expo on May 3 and 4, 2018. This first edition of the championship is organised by 101 Sports Project Management at the Al Ain Convention Centre. Fans of body building are in for a treat, as participants from all over the world converge for the largest event of its kind-both in terms of event size and the value of cash rewards which will reinforce Al Ain’s position as a leading destination for sports and fitness events in the region.
Abdulla Al Hammadi, Director of Al Ain Convention Centre, said: “Al Ain has a track record of hosting major sports and fitness events that attract considerable attention. It is of immense value for all of us that the city will host the region’s biggest and much-anticipated body building championship. The bodybuilding scene is gaining momentum in the region and Al Ain is proud to be at the forefront of all the action.”
“To ensure a successful turnout, ADNEC is fully geared to deliver an action-packed event in line with its mission to maintain its leadership in hosting high-profile local, regional and international events across diverse sectors. Fitness events such as these help to attract a niche and exclusive crowd, thus bolstering the city’s image as a hub for health and fitness enthusiasts. The Al Ain Convention Centre is an ideal venue equipped with the latest facilities that would meet the needs of both the participants and spectators. We are confident that it will be another spectacular event in the emirate,” Al Hammadi added.
Al Ain Convention Centre, the venue for the event, is adequately prepared to handle an event of this size and magnitude. Owned and operated by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), the centre offers 12,900 square meters of exhibition and conference space. Built in a unique marquee style, the centre has hosted some of the most high-profile events in the region.
“The body building event will help build the right foundation for inculcating a love of fitness and outdoor activities among the youth and help build up an athletic community of youngsters that can compete nationally and internationally.” Al Hammadi concluded.
The exhibition is expected to attract 800 visitors and will throw the spotlight on fitness and health, accessible to all. The event will feature a mix of live shows and contests related to health, wellness, fitness, martial arts, Parkour, Thai Boxing, Kung Fu for Children, Bodybuilding. This much awaited event is being hosted with the aim of raising fitness levels in the city across all population categories through hosting international events of repute.
Al Ain Convention Centre is of strategic importance to the city of Al Ain, since it conducts events that bolster the image of the city as a favoured destination for business, entertainment and leisure. The hosting of popular events at the centre will also help fast-track infrastructure development in rural areas that will in turn, facilitate a higher standard of living in these areas.

مدينة العين تستضيف "بطولة العين ليجيندز الدولية لكمال الأجسام"
إحدى أكبر البطولات المحلية لرياضة كمال الأجسام من حيث حجم المشاركة وقيمة الجوائز المالية

تحت رعاية سمو الشيخ زايد بن طحنون بن محمد آل نهيان، تستضيف مدينة العين النسخة الأولى من بطولة "العين ليجيندز الدولية لكمال الأجسام" يومي 3 و4 مايو الجاري في مركز العين للمؤتمرات، بحضور عددٍ كبير من محبي وعشاق رياضة كمال الأجسام، حيث يلتقي المشاركون من مختلف أنحاء العالم في هذه البطولة التي تعتبر الأكبر من نوعها من حيث حجم المشاركة وقيمة الجوائز المالية المقدمة، وستساهم البطولة في تعزيز مكانة مدينة العين كوجهة رائدة لاستضافة الفعاليات الرياضية على مستوى المنطقة.
وقال عبدالله الحمادي، مدير مركز العين للمؤتمرات: "تمتلك مدينة العين سجلاً حافلاً في مجال استضافة الفعاليات الخاصة بالرياضة واللياقة البدنية التي تستقطب الكثير من الاهتمام، ونحن سعداء باستضافة المدينة لأكبر بطولة لبناء الأجسام في المنطقة، هذه الرياضة التي تكتسب مزيداً من الاهتمام على المستوى الإقليمي، كما نفخر بأن نكون في طليعة الوجهات المستضيفة لمثل هذه الفعاليات."
وأضاف الحمادي: "لضمان إنجاح البطولة، قامت شركة أبوظبي الوطنية للمعارض "أدنيك"، بالإشراف على جهوزية مركز العين للمؤتمرات واستعداده لإقامة بطولة تليق بمستوى الحدث تماشياً مع رسالتنا في الحفاظ على ريادتنا باستضافة الفعاليات المحلية والإقليمية والدولية الكبرى وضمن مختلف القطاعات، وتساهم فعاليات رياضات اللياقة البدنية في استقطاب عدد كبير من الحضور، الأمر الذي سيعزز من مكانة مدينة العين كمركز رئيسي لاستضافة هذا النوع من الرياضات، ويعتبر مركز العين للمؤتمرات، المُجهز بأحدث المعدات والمرافق، المكان المثالي الذي سيُلبي احتياجات ومتطلبات المشاركين والحضور على السواء، ونحن على ثقة تامة من أن هذه البطولة المُنتظرة ستكون بمثابة حدث ناجح آخر تستضيفه الإمارة."
وتمت تهيئة مركز العين للمؤتمرات، الذي تمتلكه وتديره شركة "أدنيك"، بشكل مناسب لاستضافة فعاليات بهذا الحجم، حيث يوفر المركز مساحة 12,900 متر مربع لاستضافة المؤتمرات والمعارض، هذا واستضاف المركز الذي يتميز بتصميمه الفريد عدداً من أبرز الفعاليات على مستوى المنطقة، ما عزز من مكانة المدينة كوجهة جاذبة لفعاليات الأعمال والترفيه.
واختتم الحمادي: "ستسهم بطولة "العين ليجندز الدولية لكمال الأجسام" في بناء الأساس الصحيح لغرس حب الرياضات البدنية والأنشطة الرياضية المختلفة لدى الشباب، وهو ما سينعكس بشكل إيجابي على المجتمع من خلال بناء جيل رياضي من الشباب يمكنه المنافسة في مختلف البطولات على الصعيدين المحلي والعالمي."
ومن المنتظر أن تستقطب البطولة، التي سيتم تنظيمها من قبل شركة "101 لإدارة المشاريع الرياضية"، 800 زائر، حيث ستسلط الضوء على الرياضات البدنية والصحة العامة على هامش فعالياتها، وسيتخلل البطولة أيضاً مجموعة من العروض الحية والمسابقات المتعلقة بالصحة والرياضة والفنون القتالية المختلفة كرياضة الباركور والملاكمة التايلاندية "مواي تاي" والكونغ فو للأطفال، فضلاً عن رياضة كمال الأجسام.
