ABB and the Egyptian Ministry of Trade & Industry sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) placing Egypt at the forefront of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
In line with the objectives and policies of the Egyptian Ministry of Trade & Industry represented in the industrial development and the promotion of foreign trade strategy 2016 – 2020, and in accordance with the importance of the role of the private sector as a key partner in achieving industrial leadership and excellence, the Egyptian Minister of Trade & Industry, H.E Mr. Tarek Kabil and ABB, the global pioneering technology leader serving utilities, industry and transport & infrastructure, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide technical support in the areas of training, energy efficiency and social responsibility.
This partnership supports the implementation of the Ministry’s strategic pillars, namely industrial development, SME development and entrepreneurship, export development, technical and vocational education and training development, governance and institutional development.
The MoU was signed at a ceremony in Cairo on 13, May 2018, attended by H.E. the Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Mr. Tarek Kabil, and Managing Director ABB Egypt North and Central Africa, NajiJreijiri, in the presence of Ambassador Paul Garnier, Ambassador of Switzerland to Egypt, Jan Thesleff, Ambassador of Sweden to Egypt, as well as a number of ABB executives in Egypt and representatives of the Ministry of Trade and Industry headed by Eng. Hanan Al-Khodari, President of the Council for Industry for Technology and Innovation and Eng. Ahmed Al-Ghamazi, Head of Production Efficiency and Vocational Training Department.
From his side minister Tarek Kabil, Minister of Trade and Industry said that the agreement is a step towards achieving Fourth Industrial Revolution in Egypt and comes within the framework of the social responsibility of the private sector supporting the government's plans for sustainable development, and in line with the objectives and policies of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, namely promoting industrial development and foreign trade 2020. This MOU also reflects the belief of the Ministry of Trade and Industry as a key partner in achieving these goals allowing Egypt to benefit from ABB's expertise in technology, power products, robotics, industrial digitalization and outstanding power grid products. .
Under this MoU, both sides agree to develop the capabilities of specialized technicians and control systems laboratories in five locations including reviewing students’ curricula, including those pertaining to the industry and electrical sector, offering hands on training opportunities at ABB manufacturing facilities in Egypt.
Additionally, ABB is providing the necessary training for a number of engineers working at the Ministry of Trade and Industry to conduct audits of energy efficiency for high energy consumption sectors. Moreover, ABB will organize workshops and sessions to develop the capabilities of technical experts within the Ministry of Trade and Industry by introducing them to the latest energy saving technologies and solutions, thus supporting and promoting the National Energy Efficiency initiative, all in coordination with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy.

ABB توقع مذكرة تفاهم مع وزارة التجارة والصناعة في مجال تطوير التعليم الفني
توقيع المذكرة ما بين شركة ABB ووزارة التجارة والصناعة المصرية يضع مصر في مصاف الدول التي تتبنى تطبيقات الثورة الصناعية الرابعة.
تماشيا مع أهداف وسياسات وزارة التجارة والصناعة المصرية الممثلة في التنمية الصناعية وتعزيز استراتيجية التجارة الخارجية 2016 - 2020 ، وتوافقا مع أهمية دور القطاع الخاص كشريك رئيسي في تحقيق التميز والتطوير الصناعي، قام معالي وزير التجارة والصناعة، السيد طارق قابيل و شركة ABB مصر، بتوقيع مذكرة تفاهم لتقديم الدعم الفني في مجالات التدريب وكفاءة الطاقة والمسؤولية الاجتماعية.
ويأتي هذا البروتوكول لدعم تنفيذ الركائز الاستراتيجية للوزارة، وعلي رأسها تحقيق التنمية الصناعية، وتطوير المشاريع الصغيرة ومتوسطة الحجم وتشجيع ريادة الأعمال، وتنمية الصادرات، وتطوير التعليم والتدريب التقني والمهني فضلا عن تحقيق اسس الحوكمة والتطوير المؤسسي.
وقد تم توقيع مذكرة التفاهم في حضور كل من وزير التجارة والصناعة السيد طارق قابيل، والمدير التنفيذي لشركة ABB مصر شمال ووسط أفريقيا، ناجي جريجيري، وبحضور كل من السفير بول غارنييه، سفير سويسرا في مصر، وجان ثيسليف، سفير السويد في مصر ووعدد من قيادات شركة ABB في مصر ووزارة التجارة والصناعة وعلي رأسهم المهندسة حنان الخضري مقرر مجلس الصناعة للتكنولوجيا والابتكار والمهندس أحمد الغمازي رئيس مصلحة الكفاية الإنتاجية والتدريب المهني.
قال الوزير إن الاتفاق يأتي في إطار المسؤولية المجتمعية للقطاع الخاص في دعم خطط الحكومة للتنمية المستدامة حيث يتوافق مع أهداف وسياسات وزارة التجارة والصناعة وخاصة استراتيجية تعزيز التنمية الصناعية والتجارة الخارجية 2020 لافتا الى أن البروتوكول يعكس إيمان وزارة التجارة والصناعة بأهمية دور القطاع الخاص كشريك رئيسي في تحقيق هذه الأهداف ويحقق الاستفادة من خبرات شركة "إيه بي بي" الرائدة في مجال التكنولوجيا ومنتجات الكهرباء والروبوتات والرقمنة الصناعية وشبكات الكهرباء، كما يمثل الاتفاق ايضا خطوة للتحرك نحو الثورة الصناعية الرابعة.
وبموجب مذكرة التفاهم، اتفق الجانبان على تطوير قدرات الفنيين المتخصصين ومختبرات أنظمة التحكم بمصلحة الكفاية الإنتاجية والتدريب المهني في خمسة مواقع بما في ذلك مراجعة مناهج الطلاب، وخاصة المتعلقة منها بقطاع الكهرباء والطاقة، فضلا عن توفير فرص للتدريب في منشآت التصنيع الخاصة بشركة ABB في مصر.
بالإضافة إلى ذلك، تقدم ABB التدريب اللازم لعدد من المهندسين العاملين في وزارة التجارة والصناعة علي اساليب تدقيق كفاءة الطاقة للقطاعات ذات استهلاك الطاقة الكثيفة. علاوة على ذلك، ستنظم شركة ABB عددا من ورش العمل والندوات بهدف تطوير قدرات الخبراء الفنيين في وزارة التجارة والصناعة وتعريفهم بأحدث التقنيات والحلول الموفرة للطاقة، وبالتالي دعم وتعزيز أهداف "المبادرة القومية لتحقيق كفاءة الطاقة"، وذلك بالتنسيق مع وزارة الكهرباء والطاقة المتجددة. كما تتضمن مذكرة التفاهم تطوير مشروع للمسؤولية المجتمعية موجه لقطاع التصنيع والصناعات المغذية.
