Cairo, Egypt April 12, 2017 – Mastercard is inviting fintech startups in Egypt to begin applying to the Start Path Global 2017 Summer Class. Through this unique program, Mastercard helps support the growth and development of fintechs by connecting them to secure financial networks and processes to create an even more rewarding and seamless commerce experience.

The application to the program is now open for summer 2017 to startups across all regions who are rethinking banking and payments and have raised a significant seed investment. Interested startups can visit www.startpath.com to learn more about the program and to submit their application. Applications for the six-month virtual program are accepted on a rolling basis. Applications to join the next wave will be accepted through 11:59 p.m. EST on Sunday, April 23, 2017.

Through this unique startup engagement program, Mastercard aims to provide high-potential young fintech enterprises with the support and global exposure they sorely need to accelerate business growth and find new markets. We encourage young entrepreneurs to apply to the program and employ the powers of their businesses.”

Today, Mastercard welcomed five new startups to its Start Path Global program – the company’s global initiative to support innovative later-stage startups who are reshaping the future of commerce.

Three out of the five startups joining Start Path’s 2017 spring wave are focused on artificial intelligence (AI).These startups are using AI to analyze consumer behavior, enhance in-store or in-branch customer engagement, and compute bill and payment data, driving a variety of retail innovations. The other two startups have developed solutions that extend retail access to consumers through point of sale innovations. Of the startups based in Middle East and Africa, NetPlusDotCom enables retailers to transition from ‘bricks’ to ‘clicks’ and support their customers with digital payments capabilities.

The other startups in the spring 2017 Start Path class include:

  • Regalii works with more than 30 leading banks and fintech apps to give consumers an innovative way to manage their finances and pay their bills in the U.S. and Latin America.

  • Divido provides merchants and lenders with an omni-channel platform that allows their consumers to spread the cost of major purchases through instalments.


  • Fluid AI combines artificial intelligence and augmented reality to help banks and retailers create next generation user experiences in-branch and in-store.

Putting Ideas into Action

Since 2014, the Start Path team has received interest from more than 5,000 startups, leading to working with 100 companies spanning 24 countries. Through the first four classes, 20 percent of the participants have worked with Mastercard in commercial engagements.

Mastercard is collaborating with DigiSEq, an IoT payment device enabler, to connect DigiSEq device manufacturer customers with Mastercard tokenization services and enable payments on wearables. Kasisto, the company that created the conversational KAI Banking AI platform, is working with Mastercard to pilot a bot for banks that allows consumers to transact, manage finances, receive contextual offers and learn about benefits via messaging platforms. RecargaPay, a mobile payment solution that enables Latin American consumers to top-up their prepaid mobile phones and pay for utility bills, partnered with Mastercard to launch a card-on-file marketing promotion to attract new users.

القاهرة، مصر، 21 أبريل 2017: أطلقت ماستركارد برنامج ستارت باث   لفصل صيف 2017 الذي يُعد ا أحدث مبادرات ماستركارد العالمية لدعم الشركات الناشئة في مجال التكنولوجيا المالية من خلال سعيها لتأمين الشبكات المالية والعمليات بهدف خلق معاملات تجارية أكثر سلاسة وسهولة.

باب التقديم مفتوح الآن لبرنامج ستارت باث لفصل صيف 2017 للشركات الناشئة التي ترغب في تطوير الخدمات المصرفية والمالية في جميع أنحاء المنطقة والذين تمكنوا من جمع  تمويلات للبدء في أنشطتهم  وذلك من خلال زيارة الموقع الإلكتروني: www.startpath.com للحصول على معلومات إضافية عن البرنامج وتقديم طلبات الالتحاق. يتم قبول الطلبات في البرنامج الافتراضي لمدة ستة أشهر وعلى أساس متجدد، وسيتم استقبال طلبات الانضمام إلى الدفعة القادمة حتى الساعة 11:59 مساءً حسب التوقيت الشرقي القياسي EST من يوم الأحد 23 أبريل 2017.

شهد برنامج ستارت باث 2017 لفصل الربيع مشاركة 5 شركات، ركزت ثلاثة منها على مفهوم الذكاء الاصطناعي في تحليل سلوك المستهلك، وتعزيز مشاركة المستهلكين في المتجر أو الفرع، وجمع بيانات الفواتير وعمليات الدفع، وذلك بهدف تحفيز الابتكار في قطاع التجزئة. بينما قامت الشركتان الأخرتان  بتطوير حلول تتيح لتجار التجزئة التفاعل بشكل أفضل مع المستهلكين من خلال الابتكارات المعتمدة في نقاط البيع. وتضم قائمة شركات الخمس المشاركة في البرنامج شركة "نت بلس دوت كوم" ، والتي تُعد إحدى الشركات الناشئة في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وإفريقيا، وتعمل على تمكين تجار التجزئة من الانتقال من منافذ السداد الفعلية إلى حلول الدفع الرقمية ودعم عملائهم بحلول المدفوعات الرقمية.

ومن بين الشركات التي انضمت إلى برنامج ستارت باث 2017 لفصل الربيع فهي:

  • ريجالي، وتعمل مع أكثر من 30 بنك من البنوك الرائدة وتطبيقات التكنولوجيا المالية لمنح المستهلكين طريقة مبتكرة لإدارة تعاملاتهم المالية ودفع فواتيرهم في الولايات المتحدة وأمريكا اللاتينية.

  • ديفيدو، وتوفر منصة متعددة القنوات للتجار والمقرضين على حد سواء تسمح للمستهلكين القيام بتسديد مشترياتهم الرئيسية عبر أقساط.

  • فلود أيه آي، وتجمع بين الذكاء الاصطناعي وتقنية الواقع المعزز لتساعد البنوك وتجار التجزئة على توفير تجارب الجيل القادم للمستهلكين في الفروع أو المتاجر.

وضع الأفكار قيد التنفيذ

ومنذ عام 2014، أبدت أكثر من 5000 شركة ناشئة اهتمامها بالانضمام إلى برنامج ستارت باث، وقد انضمت بالفعل 100 شركة منها إلى البرنامج من 24 بلداً. ومن خلال الدورات الأربع الأولى من البرنامج، تعاونت 20% من الشركات المشاركة تجارياً مع ماستركارد.

وتتعاون ماستركارد حالياً مع DigiSEq، وهي شركة متخصصة في تمكين الدفع عبر الأجهزة القائمة على تقنية إنترنت الأشياء من أجل تزويد عملاء الشركة المصنعة لجهاز DigiSEq بخدمات الترميز من ماستركارد وتمكينهم من إجراء عمليات السداد عبر الأجهزة الذكية القابلة للارتداء. أما شركة كاسيستو، التي أنشأت منصة الذكاء الاصطناعي التفاعلية للخدمات المصرفية "KAI Banking AI"، فتعمل مع ماستركارد على تجريب خدمة محادثة العميل عبر رسائل الرد الآلية التي تسمح لعملاء البنوك بالقيام بالتحويلات وإدارة شؤونهم المالية وتلقي العروض والتعرف على المزايا عبر مختلف منصات الرسائل. كما تعمل "ريكارجاباي"، إحدى حلول الدفع بواسطة الهاتف المحمول التي تتيح للمستهلكين في أمريكا اللاتينية تعبئة رصيد خط الهاتف المحمول مسبقة الدفع ودفع فواتير المياه والكهرباء بالتعاون مع ماستركارد لإطلاق حملة ترويجية خاصة بتسجيل البيانات الخاصة على البطاقة لجذب مستخدمين جدد.
