Sandvik Secures Strategic Projects in Egypt; Establishes Regional HQ in Dubai
Dubai, United Arab Emirates – 8 February 2017: Sandvik, a developer and producer of advanced stainless steels, special alloys, titanium, and other high-performance materials, announced that, it has secured a number of strategic projects offshore Egypt to provide a comprehensive scope of Sandvik oil and gas solutions for the ongoing giant gas field developments in the region. With contract values across the scope of supply in excess of 100 million Euros (107 million USD) this represents a milestone development for Sandvik in the region.
Sandvik has seen double-digit growth in the region over the past three years, and recently established its EMEA Oil and Gas headquarters in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to service major projects happening in the region and to remain in close proximity to regional customers.
The East Mediterranean is rife with opportunity. For example, the recently discovered Zohr offshore field near Egypt, the largest natural gas discovery in the Mediterranean in the last decade, will greatly boost the country’s energy potential. The “super giant” field potentially boasts an estimated 30 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.
Phil Cherrie, Regional Sales and Marketing Manager, Oil & Gas, EMEA, Sandvik, said, “Operating in an offshore environment such as the Mediterranean Sea requires materials that are able to withstand the harsh conditions that these operations present. Having been chosen by the operators as well as equipment manufacturers and service providers to provide these solutions serves as testament to the quality of Sandvik’s products and solutions.”
As part of the contracts, Sandvik will be providing Super Duplex steel umbilical tubing; SANICRO 28, a high-alloy, high strength austenitic stainless steel for OCTG downhole production tubing together with alliance partner Tenaris; seamless alloy 625 control line and chemical injection lines encapsulated with tubing encased conductor (TEC lines).
Deliveries of these solutions have already begun in 2016 and will continue throughout 2017.
Additionally, Sandvik will be exhibiting at the Egypt Petroleum Show 2017. At the Sandvik booth (stand 1E61, Hall 1), the Swedish company will present its wide range of corrosion-resistant products including umbilical tubing, OCTG tubing, downhole control lines, hydraulic lines for drilling risers, tubing for sand screens, subsea piping material, welding products and slicklines. The booth will also display the complex components of powder metallurgy hot isostatic pressing (HIP) for subsea equipment.
Visitors will also learn more about the technical leadership and support that Sandvik can offer on material selection and solutions for corrosion challenges.
Additionally, major project highlights in the UAE region will be showcased.

تنفذ مشاريع كبرى في مصر، وتؤسس مكتب إقليمي لها بدبي
دبي – دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة – 8 فبراير 2017: أعلنت شركة ساندفيك"، اليوم , و هي الشركة العالمية الرائدة في مجال إنتاج وتطوير الفولاذ المقاوم للصدأ، والسبائك الخاصة، والتيتانيوم، وغيرها من المواد المعدنية عالية الجودة، عن قيامها بتوقيع عدد من الشراكات الاستراتيجية في مجال التوريد لقطاع النفط والغاز في مصر، تتجاوز قيمتها 100 مليون يورو (107 مليون دولار أمريكي). وتأتي هذه الشراكة ضمن مشاريع الشركة التنموية والتي تعد خطوة هامة لتطوير وتعزيز تواجد "شركة ساندفيك" في المنطقة, وذلك بهدف توفير حلول شاملة في مجالات النفط والغاز في منطقة الشرق الأوسط
شهدت “شركة ساندفيك”تطورا ملحوظاً في أعمالها بالمنطقة خلال السنوات القليلة الماضية، فقد قامت مؤخراً بتأسيس مكتبها الإقليمي في دبي لتولي أعمال الشركة لقطاع النفط والغاز في أوروبا، والشرق الأوسط، وأفريقياو ليكون بمثابة مقرا استراتيجيا لها في المنطقة يساعدها على متابعة مشاريعها وتلبية احتياجات عملائها عن قرب.
وتتسم منطقة شرق البحر الأبيض المتوسط بتعدد الفرص المتوفرة فيها، فعلى سبيل المثال، فقد تم مؤخراً اكتشاف حقل "زهر" في السواحل المصرية، والذي يعتبر أكبر حقل للغاز الطبيعي في منطقة البحر الأبيض المتوسط تم اكتشافه خلال العقد الماضي. ومن المتوقع أن يساهم هذا الحقل في تعزيز الطاقة الكامنة في مصر. ويقدر حجم هذا "الحقل العملاق" بحوالي 30 تريليون قدم مكعب من الغاز الطبيعى.
وقد أفاد المدير الإقليمي والتسويقي لقطاع النفط والغاز بالمنطقة لدى شركة ساندفيك “المهندس فيل تشيري”: ان العمل في بيئة بحرية مثل بيئة البحر المتوسط يتطلب معدات عمل قادرة على الصمود في وجه العوامل المناخية المتغايرة التي تتعرض لها المنطقة. ويأتي اختيار شركتنا لتكون قائمه بالأعمال من قبل الشركات المتعاقدة علي المشروعات ، والمصنعة للمعدات هو أكبر شاهد على الجودة العالية والثقة الكبيرة التي تتمتع بها منتجات شركة ساندفيك".
وستقوم “شركة ساندفيك" من خلال هذه الشراكة بتوفير Umbilical Tubes المصنوعة من سبائك السوبر دوبلكس. كما ستقوم بإمداد مواسير الحفر (OCTG) من سبيكة (SANICRO 28) هذه المنتجات ستوفرها بالتعاون مع شركة "تيناريس"، بالإضافة إلى السبائك Alloy 625( control line and chemical injection lines) المغلفة بالأنابيب (TEC lines).
وقد بدأت الشركة بتوفير هذه الحلول في العام 2016 لحين الانتهاء منها في2017.
كما ستقوم "ساندفيك" بعرض منتجات الشركة بمعرض مصر الدولي للبترول 2017، في الجناح (1E61) القاعة رقم 1 . وستقوم الشركة السويدية بعرض مجموعة واسعة من منتجاتها الرائدة في قطاع النفط والغاز، بما في ذلك الأنابيب المقاومة للتآكل
