PRESS CONFERENCE ON THE MAIN FINDINGS OF THE SAHWA PROJECT ON YOUTH IN FIVE ARAB MEDITERRANEAN COUNTRIES



WHAT
A press conference at The American University in Cairo (AUC) to discuss the main findings on youth in five Arab Mediterranean countries, Egypt, Lebanon, Tunisia, Morocco, and Algeria, as part of SAHWA Project. The conference will present the main findings of the project on the obstacles facing youth in the region and how these challenges should be combated through international policies. SAHWA is an EU-funded three-year research project by AUC Forum and 14 partners from the Arab world, Turkey, and Europe,
The project focused on six major topics: youth opportunities, youth engagement, gender differences and impact, employment, migration and mobility, public policies and international cooperation.

Mustapha Omrane, professor of sociology and demography at the University of Khemis-Miliana, Algeria and an associated researcher at the Centre de recherche en économie appliquée pour le développement (CREAD) in Algeria; Fadhila Najah, data analyst and the national SAHWA survey expert in Tunisia and Caroline Minialai, senior associate researcher of at the Centre d’Etudes Sociales, Economiques et Managériales (CESEM) in Morocco and SAHWA representative in Morocco; Bahgat Korany, professor of international relations and director of AUC Forum and Mostapha El-Sayyad, specialist, administration and research, SAHWA Project, AUC Forum.
