Hilton in Egypt Celebrates Global Month of Service

Hilton Teams Across the Country Help Strengthen the Community

Cairo, Egypt – (December 25, 2016) – In celebration of Hilton’s annual Global Month of Service, throughout October, volunteers from Hilton’s Egypt hotels and corporate office partnered with various organizations to positively impact their communities. The efforts are a part of Hilton’s month-long celebration recognizing the company’s year-round commitment to serving and enriching the communities where teams live, work and travel.

More than 30 volunteers from Hilton’s corporate office in Egypt teamed up with UNICEF and Rotary to raise awareness about hygiene, water conservation, nutrition, and employability skills in Bani Mazar village. Building on last year’s Water for Life initiative which connected fresh water to 70 households in the Minya governorate, this year, Hilton’s corporate office team in Egypt organized three different sessions to raise awareness among women and youth about hygiene and employability.

“Water is the essence of life and raising awareness of hygiene and water conservation, we aim to help improve the quality of life of Bani Mazar people,” said Christian Muhr, vice president of operations, Egypt & Levant, Hilton. “We are also pleased to have held sessions for youth to learn about employability skills and career development.”

During the 2016 Global Month of Service, events took place across the 18 Hilton hotels in Egypt, including:
  • Conrad Cairo: With the aim of creating a healthy environment and raising awareness of hygiene, the hotel team visited Amir El Lewa government school to clean the yard, classrooms and other facilities. The hotel also taught culinary skills to a number of students from the school.
  • Hilton Cairo World Trade Center Residences: The hotel hosted a group of students from Al Orman School who were engaged in a full-day program to learn about the hospitality industry and hotel operations.
  • Hilton Cairo Zamalek Residences: Teaming up with Misr El Kheir, the hotel offered training to young graduates who aspire to work in the hospitality industry.
  • Hilton Alexandria Green Plaza: The blue energy team visited SOS Children’s Village to help children who are at risk of losing parental care. The activities organized aimed to improve the children’s skills and the quality of environment in which they live.
  • Hilton Alexandria King’s Ranch: The blue energy team initiated a campaign to clean the surrounding neighborhoods.
  • Hilton Hurghada Resort: The hotel welcomed students of the Deaf & Dumb governmental school for an induction day. The students received training from the hotel’s bakery chef and the hotel’s engineering team visited the school to do some needed repairs.
  • Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa: The hotel donated kitchen tools to Sunshine Orphanage. Children were also given treats and the hotel’s team washed and packed 100 blankets for the kids to help him enjoy a warmer winter. In addition, the hotel organized special workshops for a number of students of the hotel institute to train them about the operations of different departments.
  • Hilton Sharks Bay: The hotel partnered with the ministry of education to renovate “Geel October” Preparatory School
  • Hilton Sharm Dreams Resort: The Blue Energy Committee organized a special day to help Bedouin families by providing them with essential medications, medical check-ups, hygiene awareness sessions for kids and a special buffet set-up in the middle of the desert.    
  • Hilton Sharm El Sheikh Fayrouz: With the aim of helping youth, the Blue Energy team visited a local school to teach students about the hospitality industry and how they can pursue a successful career. The hotel also hosted the students of another school to enjoy the aqua park and the hotel’s special culinary offers.
  • Ramses Hilton: Aiming to support Egyptian tourism, the hotel sponsored the press conference of the International Folkloric Festival. Other activities included teaming up with the Orphans’ Friends Association (OFA) to launch their first scholarship program, working with JOSAAB Charity Foundation to mark the Global Day of Hospice and donating special kits to Jossab Charity Association to support terminally ill patients.

Since 2012, Hilton’s Global Month of Service has been the company’s largest annual community service initiative, mobilizing hundreds of thousands of Team Members from all over the world to impact their local communities through a variety of volunteer projects. Hilton teams offer their time and expertise in hospitality to support issues from conserving natural resources to mentoring and exposing youth to the opportunities in hospitality to collecting surplus food and distributing it to local organizations and everything in between.

القاهرة، مصر- 25 ديسمبر، 2016- في إطار احتفال هيلتون بالشهر العالمي للخدمة على مدار أكتوبر، قام المتطوعون من العاملين في فنادق هيلتون وموظفي المقر الرئيسي للشركة في مصر بالتعاون مع مجموعة من المنظمات الأهلية والخيرية، للمساهمة في إحداث تغيير ايجابي في عدد من المجتمعات المحلية في مصر. تأتي هذه الجهود في إطار الشهر العالمي للخدمة الذي يمتد على مدار شهر كامل، تتويجاً لالتزام هيلتون على مدار العام بخدمة وإثراء المجتمعات التي يعمل ويعيش ويسافر إليها العاملون بالشركة العالمية.

وفي هذا الإطار، تعاون أكثر من 30 متطوع من العاملين بالمقر الرئيسي لهيلتون في مصر مع منظمة اليونيسيف والروتاري، لرفع الوعي بأهمية النظافة الشخصية والمحافظة على المياه، والتغذية، وتنمية المهارات الوظيفية لأهالي مركز بني مزار بمحافظة المنيا. وللاستفادة من النجاح الذي حققته مبادرة “Water for Life” والتي قامت بتوصيل مياه الشرب إلى 70 أسرة في محافظة المنيا العام الماضي؛ قام فريق العاملين بالمقر الرئيسي لهيلتون في مصر هذا العام بتنظيم ثلاثة محاضرات توعوية لرفع الوعي لدى المرأة والشباب بأهمية النظافة الشخصية وتنمية المهارات الوظيفية.

وتعليقاً على ذلك يقول السيد/ كريستيان مور- نائب الرئيس للعمليات في مصر ومنطقة الشام في هيلتون:" إنّ المياه هي أصل الحياة، ولهذا تهدف هيلتون من خلال جهودها للتوعية بأهمية النظافة الشخصية والمحافظة على المياه، لتحسين جودة الحياة في بني مزار بالمنيا. نشعر أيضاً بالسعادة لتنظيم ثلاثة محاضرات للشباب لتنمية مهاراتهم الشخصية والوظيفية في تلك المنطقة من صعيد مصر."

هذا وقد تضمن الشهر العالمي للخدمة هذا العام العديد من الفاعليات والأنشطة التطوعية في 18 فندقاً من فنادق هيلتون في مصر منهم:  

  • كونراد القاهرة: بهدف المحافظة على بيئة صحية ورفع الوعي بأهمية النظافة الشخصية، قام فريق العاملين في الفندق بزيارة مدرسة  أمير اللواء الحكومية، وتنظيف فناء المدرسة والفصول الدراسية والمنشآت الأخرى بالمدرسة. قام أيضاً العاملون بالفندق بتعليم بعض الطلبة فنون الطهي.
  • هيلتون القاهرة للشقق الفندقية بمركز التجارة العالمي: استضاف الفندق مجموعة من طلبة مدرسة الأورمان الفندقية، حيث شاركوا في برنامج تدريبي على مدار يوم كامل للتعرف على قطاع الضيافة والعمليات التشغيلية بالفنادق.    
  • هيلتون القاهرة زمالك ريزيدانسيز: تعاون الفندق مع مؤسسة مصر الخير في تنظيم برنامج تدريبي للخريجين الطامحين للعمل في قطاع الضيافة.  
  • هيلتون الإسكندرية جرين بلازا: قام فريق Blue Energy بالفندق بزيارة قرية SOS للأطفال، لمساعدة الأطفال الأكثر عرضة لفقدان الرعاية الأبوية، من خلال تطوير مهارات الأطفال وتحسين البيئة التي يعيشون بها.    
  • هيلتون الإسكندرية كينجز رانش: قام فريق Blue Energy بالفندق بتنظيم حملة لتنظيف المنطقة المحيطة بالفندق.  
  • هيلتون الغردقة ريزورت: استقبل المنتجع مجموعة من طلبة مدرسة الصم والبكم الحكومية، حيث قام بتقديم  أقسام ومنشآت الفندق وتعريفهم بها. كما تلقى الطلبة تدريباً عملياً من شيف المخبز، وقام الفريق الهندسي بالمنتجع بزيارة المدرسة وإجراء بعض الإصلاحات بها.       
  • منتجع وسبا هيلتون الأقصر: قام المنتجع بالتبرع بأدوات المطبخ  لدار أيتام صن شاين، كما منح الأطفال بعض الوجبات والحلوى. وقام فريق العاملين في الفندق بغسيل وتعبئة 100 بطانية ومنحهم للأطفال لمساعدتهم على قضاء شتاء دافئ. بالإضافة لذلك، نظّم الفندق ورش عمل خاصة لعدد من طلبة معهد الفندقة، لتدريبهم على العمليات التشغيلية وتعريفهم بالأقسام المختلفة بالفندق.       
  • منتجع هيلتون شاركس باي : تعاون الفندق مع وزارة التربية والتعليم لتجديد مدرسة جيل أكتوبر الإعدادية.  
  • منتجع هيلتون شرم دريمز: نظمت لجنة Blue Energy بالمنتجع يوم خاص لمساعدة الأسر البدوية، من خلال إمدادهم بالأدوية الأساسية والفحوصات الطبية، وتوعية الأطفال بالنظافة الشخصية، وإقامة بوفيه خاص لهم وسط الصحراء.        
  • منتجع هيلتون شرم الشيخ فيروز: من أجل دعم ومساعدة الشباب، قام فريق Blue Energy بالمنتجع بزيارة احدى المدارس المحلية لتقديم بعض المعلومات عن قطاع الضيافة لطلبة المدرسة، وتدريبهم على كيفية النجاح في حياتهم العملية. استضاف المنتجع أيضاً طلبة مدرسة أخرى للاستمتاع بالألعاب المائية والمأكولات المميزة بالمنتجع.
  • هيلتون رمسيس: بهدف دعم السياحة في مصر، قام الفندق برعاية مؤتمر صحفي لمهرجان الرقص الفلكلوري. تضمنت الأنشطة الأخرى للفندق التعاون مع جمعية أصدقاء الأيتام في إطلاق أول برنامج للمنح الدراسية  إلي جانب مشاركة مؤسسة JOSAAB الخيرية في الاحتفال باليوم العالمي للإيواء، والتبرع بعدد من الأدوات لمؤسسة JOSAAB الخيرية لدعم المرضى بأمراض لا أمل في شفائها.       

يُعتبر الشهر العالمي للخدمة أكبر مبادرة تطوعية سنوية تنظمها هيلتون، وانطلقت لأول مرة عام 2012 بهدف حشد مئات الآلاف من العاملين في هيلتون من كل مكان، للمشاركة في العديد من الفعاليات والأنشطة التطوعية التي تنفذها في جميع أنحاء العالم. حيث يقوم فريق العاملين في هيلتون بتكريس جهدهم ووقتهم للمشاركة في هذه الأنشطة المتنوعة على مدار شهر كامل.   
تتضمن المبادرة مجموعة من الأنشطة مثل المحافظة على الموارد الطبيعية وتعليم وتدريب الشباب على صناعة الضيافة وجمع الوجبات الفائضة وتوزيعها على المنظمات والجمعيات الخيرية، وغيرها من الأنشطة الأخرى.
