GI Aviation’s pledge to bring a more affordable private air charter service to the Gulf Region has been realised. Today, at the MEBAA Show in Dubai, the company announced it has obtained its Air Operator’s Certificate [AOC] from the GCAA (UAE General Civil Aviation Authority), enabling the start of commercial flights with its fleet of Pilatus PC-12NG aircraft.
“We are delighted to obtain this approval from the GCAA. Our team have been working hard this past year to deliver a brand new entry level service for business aviation in this region, which has until now been dominated by larger business jets. We have received significant interest from a number of parties who are keen to fly with us. We are focused on the value proposition we offer our clients” said Her Excellency Hafsa Al Ulama, Managing Director of GI Aviation’s parent company, Global Ideas.
GI Aviation accepted its first eight-seat PC-12NG aircraft this spring. Featuring a spacious BMW DesignWorks interior, it will be the first aircraft of this type to commercially operate in the GCC region, bringing with it unique operating characteristics inherent to the PC-12NG. This includes the capability to take off and land on short runways typical of remote locations or islands as well as the ability to access paved and unpaved airstrips. The aircraft’s impressive versatility will enable GI Aviation to serve leisure, corporate or medevac charters flying on journeys of up to four hours with a range of 2,000km. GI Aviation will take delivery of its second PC-12NG aircraft in January 2017.
In obtaining the GCAA AOC, GI Aviation is pleased to endorse the work carried out by Hendell Aviation of Finland whose consultancy services were instrumental in helping obtain the AOC.
Matti Auterinen, Chairman of Hendell, congratulated GI Aviation: “We have been preparing the ground work for the first PC-12NG commercial operation in the Middle East since Q3 2015, calling on our own experience as the first commercial operator in Europe with this type of aircraft since 2013. The GCAA regulations and requirements closely followed EASA with key differences adapted for the UAE and the region. However, the overall compliance environment toward CAT SE-IMC is similar. The very professional framework established in the UAE by the authority is strict, but fair. We are very proud to have been able (for the second time) to participate in the ongoing development of what is a very exciting sector in business aviation,” Matti said.

GI Aviation has extensively researched the market and identified a need for charter services on popular city pair routes currently flown by some legacy carriers on scheduled services. “At GI Aviation, we are able to serve all the major business and capital cities within the GCC and surrounding region and will also serve popular resort destinations like Sir Bani Yas, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah,” said Marios Belidis, General Manager of GI Aviation. “We will provide an exemplary charter service to both the existing charter market and to the executive first / business class traveller looking for an entry into the charter market. جي آي للطيران تحصل على شهادة مشغل من الهيئة العامة للطيران المدني
أعلنت شركة جي آي للطيران اليوم خلال معرض الطيران الخاص للشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا (MEBAA) المنعقد في دبي عن حصولها على شهادة مشغل طيران من الهيئة العامة للطيران المدني في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة مما يمكنها من بدء تشغيل رحلات تجارية. يعكس هذا الأمر إلتزام الشركة بتوفير خدمة الطيران التجاري الخاص المستأجر إلى منطقة الخليج العربي بأسعار تنافسية مع إدخال طائرات بلاتوس بي سي-12 PC-12NG أن جي للخدمة.
وقالت سعادة حفصة العلماء، المدير التنفيذي لجلوبال أيدياز: "يسعدنا الحصول على هذا الإعتماد من الهيئة العامة للطيران المدني فقد عمل فريقنا جاهداً خلال العام المنصرم من أجل طرح هذه الخدمة الأساسية الجديدة لقطاع طيران الأعمال في هذه المنطقة والذي كانت لا تزال تهيمن عليه طائرات الأعمال الكبيرة. وقد لقينا اهتماماً جاداً من عدد من الجهات الراغبة بإستخدام طائراتنا مع التركيز على عامل القيمة الذي نقدمه".
وحصلت جي آي للطيران على أول طائرة بي سي-12 أن جي PC-12NG ذات الثمانية مقاعد في مارس 2016 والتي تتميز بمقصورة رحبة من بي ام دبليو ديزاين وركس (BMW Designworks)، وستكون أول طائرة من نوعها تعمل تجارياً في منطقة الخليج العربي، وهي الطائرة التي تتميز بالمواصفات التشغيلية الفريدة التي تتمتع بها بي سي-12 أن جي والتي تشمل القدرة على الإقلاع والهبوط على المدرجات القصيرة في المناطق النائية أو الجزر إضافةً إلى القدرة على التعامل مع المدرجات غير الممهدة.
وبالحصول على شهادة الهيئة العامة للطيران المدني، يسرّ جي أي للطيران الثناء على العمل الذي قامت به شركة هيندل افياشن الفنلندية بصفتها الإستشارية عاملاً مهماً في مساعدة الشركة في الحصول على رخصة المشغل التجاري، وقد قدم ماتي أوترينن رئيس مجلس إدارة هيندل التهاني لشركة جي أي للطيران على هذا النجاح.
وقال:" كنا نعمل على تمهيد الطريق لأول عملية تشغيل للطائرة بي سي -12 أن جي PC-12NG في الشرق الأوسط منذ الربع الثالث من العام 2015 حيث سخرنا خبراتنا كأول مشغل تجاري في أوروبا لهذا النوع من الطائرات منذ عام 2013. ومع تشابه الأنظمة والشروط التي تطبقها الهيئة العامة للطيران المدني مع الأنظمة والشروط المطبقة من قبل الطيران المدني الأوروبي مع فوارق أساسية تراعي المتطلبات الموجودة في الإمارات والمنطقة، إلا أن قواعد الامتثال عموما المتعلقة بمتطلبات CAT SE-IMC متشابهة. ويتميز الإطار المهني للغاية الذي رسخته السلطات المعنية في الإمارات العربية المتحدة بأنه صارم جداً إلا أنه عادل في الوقت نفسه. وإننا لفخورون بمشاركتنا للمرة الثانية في التطوير المتواصل لهذا القطاع الحيوي في الطيران التجاري".
ورحب محمد الكثيري الرئيس التنفيذي للعمليات بالإنابة في مطارات أبوظبي بإطلاق عمليات "جي آي للطيران" في مطار البطين للطيران الخاص. وقال الكثيري: "إن مشروع شركة "جي آي للطيران" سيساهم في تعزيز التنوع في قطاع الطيران الخاص، وذلك من خلال توفير الخدمات للمسافرين بأسعار مقبولة، وبإمتيازات تنافسية".

وقد قامت جي آي للطيران بإجراء أبحاث مكثفة للسوق وحددت الحاجة إلى خدمات تشارتر للوجهات الرائجة التي تخدمها حالياً بعض كبرى شركات الطيران في المنطقة برحلات منتظمة. وقال ماريوس بيليديس المدير العام لجي آي للطيران:" يمكننا في جي آي للطيران خدمة جميع العواصم والمدن التجارية الرئيسية ضمن دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي كما سنقوم أيضاً بخدمة الوجهات السياحية الشهيرة مثل صير بني ياس ورأس الخيمة والفجيرة".
وأضاف قائلاً:" سنقدم خدمة تشارتر مثالية لسوق التأجير الحالية وللمسافر التنفيذي على الدرجة الأولى ودرجة رجال الأعمال الذي يتطلع إلى الإستفادة من سوق الرحلات المؤجرة. وفي بعض الخطوط القصيرة بين المدن سنقوم بتقديم خدمة تعتبر بديلاً حقيقياً عن الدرجة الأولى ودرجة رجال الأعمال، وسنركز على ضمان تقديم خدمة مجدية زمنا وكلفة تلبي إحتياجات رحلات العملاء مع الحفاظ على أعلى مستويات الجودة والسلامة في أعمالنا التشغيلية. إننا مسرورون بريادة هذه السوق للسفر بطريقة ملائمة وكفؤة في المنطقة وسنبدأ بتلقي الحجوزات قبل نهاية العام الحالي".
