EuroMena announces the second closing of its third fund for a total consideration of $150 million and the closing of three transactions for $60 million

Beirut, Lebanon - December 20, 2016-(ME NewsWire)- Following the success of its previous private equity funds, EuroMena announces the second and final closing of its third fund EuroMena III for a total consideration of $150 million. The Fund is also pleased to announce that it held the first advisory committee meeting of EuroMena III in London in the headquarters of one of its major Limited Partners, the CDC Group.
The successful closing of a third fund for a total consideration of $150 million in the region is a clear demonstration of the Fund Management Team’s ability to create value for its shareholders. EuroMena attracted first-time international investors to its third fund such as the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the German Investment and Development Corporation (DEG), and the UK’s Development Finance Institution (CDC Group) in addition to third and second time investors such as the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the French Public Wealth Funds (Proparco) respectively. In its third fund, EuroMena extended its geographical focus to include Sub-Saharan Africa, a rapidly growing region driven by a rising middle class.

A fourth investment should be closed in the coming weeks and we expect the Fund to be fully invested by end of 2017.”
The EuroMena Fund Management Team has been working in the region since 2005 and has built deep expertise in various industries, a solid reputation, and a leading market position. The Team is considered to be among the most active and efficient in the region in terms of sourcing, investing, managing, and exiting transactions. To date, it has successfully exited six investments, generating 2x money on the invested capital, and is on its way to realize three other exists by Q1 2017.

The Fund follows a diversified investment strategy in countries and sectors selection to optimize the risk/reward profile of its investments. Sectors of interest include retail & consumer products, food & beverage, education & healthcare, energy, financial services, and information technology.
EuroMena’s strategy is focused on creating value in its portfolio companies through assisting them in formulating their expansion strategies and guiding them in growing their top and bottom lines at double digit rates. On the 7th of November 2016, EuroMena held the first advisory committee meeting of the Fund in London at the headquarters of the CDC Group. The committee is formed of some of the most active members of the fund’s network and its objective is to advise EuroMena across the investment cycle. Attendees included Mr. Philippe de Fontaine Vive (Ex-Vice President of the European Investment Bank), Mr. Tom Fletcher (Professor at New York University and former UK Ambassador to Lebanon), Mr. Aldo Cardoso (Board Member of a number of French-listed companies), Mr. Charles El-Hage (Ex-Senior Vice President of Booz Allen Hamilton), Mr. Carlos Abou Jaoude (Founder and Managing Partner of Abou Jaoude & Associates Law Firm), among others.

بيروت، لبنان – 20 ديسمبر 2016—("إم إي نيوز واير")--  عقب النجاح الذي حققته صناديق يورومينا السابقة، أعلن صندوق يورومينا الإغلاق الثاني والنهائي لصندوق يورومينا 3 بقيمة إجمالية قدرها 150 مليون دولار. كما يسر الصندوق الثالث أن يعلن عن عقد أول اجتماع لهيئته الاستشارية في لندن وذلك في مقر أحد أهم مستثمريه، مؤسسة تمويل التنمية في المملكة المتحدة (مجموعة CDC).
تعتبر قدرة يورومينا على إغلاق الصندوق الثالث بقيمة قدرها 150 مليون دولار في المنطقة خير دليل على قدرتها لخلق القيمة المتوقعة للمساهمين. في الواقع، لقد نجحت يورومينا في جذب مستثمرين دوليين يستثمرون لأول مرة في صناديقها ، مثل مؤسسة التمويل الدولية (IFC)، الشركة الألمانية للاستثمار والتنمية (DEG)، مؤسسة تمويل التنمية في المملكة المتحدة (مجموعة CDC)، إضافة إلى مستثمرين يشاركون للمرة الثانية والثالثة على التوالي، مثل بنك الاستثمار الأوروبي (EIB)، وصناديق الوكالة الفرنسية للتنمية – (Proparco). لقد هدفت يورومينا من خلال صندوقها الثالث على توسيع نطاقها الجغرافي ليشمل منطقة جنوب الصحراء الإفريقية، التي تعتبر من المناطق السريعة النمو، حيث تشهد صعوداً ملفتاً للطبقة الاجتماعية الوسطى.

وفي تعليقه على الإغلاق الثاني للصندوق، قال السيد/ رومن ماثيو، الشريك المدير العام في يورومينا:
"بالرغم من التحدي الذي تفرضه البيئة الاقتصادية السائدة في المنطقة، استطاعت يورومينا إغلاق هذا الصندوق  والذي جاء كنتيجة مباشرة لسجلها الحافل بالنجاحات. من خلال اتباع يورومينا لاستراتيجيتها الهادفة لإنشاء المجموعات الإقليمية الرائدة، فهي لا تقدم قيمة مضافة للمساهمين وحسب، لكنها تُحدث أثراً إيجابياً ملموساً في المشرق العربي، ومنطقة الخليج وأفريقيا، من خلال خلق فرص العمل والمساهمة في تطوير اقتصادات تلك البلاد. إن مشاركة العديد من المستثمرين الدوليين في الصندوق هو دليل واضح على الفرص الجذابة التي توفرها المناطق التي تستهدفها يورومينا (المشرق العربي وأفريقيا) للمستثمرين الأجانب من حيث تنوع المحفظة الاستثمارية."
وأضاف: "حتى دسمبر/كانون الأول 2016، قام صندوق يورومينا 3 بتنفيذ ثلاث استثمارات في أبرز الشركات العاملة في قطاعات السلع الاستهلاكية السريعة التداول وتجارة التجزئة والخدمات المصرفية، في كل من نيجيريا، تونس، المغرب، الجزائر ولبنان. ومن المتوقع القيام بالإستثمار الرابع قريباً وإستثمار الصندوق بالكامل قبل نهاية عام 2017."  
بدأ فريق إدارة صندوق يورومينا أعماله في المنطقة في 2005 حيث اكتسب خبرات كثيفة في العديد من القطاعات الإقتصادية، وبنى لنفسه سمعة ممتازة ومكانة رائدة في السوق. كما يُعتبر من أنشط الفرق وأكثرها فعالية. حتى الآن، قام الفريق بخروج ناجح من ستة استثمارات، محققاً ضعفي رأس المال المُستثمَر، وهو في طريقه لتحقيق ثلاث خروجات أخرى بحلول الربع الأول من عام 2017.

" يسر البنك الأوروبي للاستثمار بدعم أسرة يورومينا للمرة الثالثة على التوالي من خلال الالتزام بتقديم 27 مليون دولار إلى صندوق يورومينا الثالث. وبرغم الصعوبات التي تعاني منها المنطقة، فقد لعبت يورومينا دوراً محورياً في تطوير القطاع الخاص وخلق فرص العمل في المشرق العربي وشمال أفريقيا، الأمر الذي يدعم التطلعات المستقبلية للشباب في المنطقة."
يتبع الصندوق استراتيجية استثمارية تقوم على التنوع من حيث البلدان والقطاعات التجارية المستهدفة من أجل تحقيق نسبة "المخاطرة / الأرباح" الأمثل.
تركز استراتيجية يورومينا على خلق قيمة مضافة في شركات محفظتها من خلال مساعدتها في صياغة سياساتها التوسعية وإرشادها إلى الآليات التي تؤدي إلى مضاعفة أرباحها. كما تُشارك يورومينا بفعالية في تطبيق جملة من المعايير الصارمة لحوكمة الشركات التي تستثمر فيها، ولتحقيق ذلك، يعتمد الصندوق على موارده الداخلية، بالإضافة إلى شبكة واسعة من شركائه والمستثمرون، ورجال الأعمال والمستشارين البارزين في المنطقة.

في 7 نزفمبر / تشرين الثاني 2016، عقدت يورومينا3  الاجتماع الأول للجنة الاستشارية للصندوق في لندن في مقر مجموعة CDC. تشمل اللجنة البعض من الأعضاء الأكثر نشاطاً ضمن شبكة الصندوق، وهي تهدف إلى تقديم المشورة لصناديق يورومينا خلال دوراتها الاستثمارية، من بداياتها حتى إنجاز عملية الخروج. وقد حضر السيد "فيليب دو فونتين فيف" (النائب السابق لرئيس البنك الأوروبي للاستثمار)، والسيد "توم فليتشر" (أستاذ في جامعة نيويورك والسفير السابق للمملكة المتحدة في لبنان)، السيد "ألدو كاردوسو" (عضو مجلس إدارة عدد من الشركات الفرنسية المدرجة)، السيد "شارل الحاج" (نائب الرئيس السابق لشركة بوز ألن هاملتون)، السيد "كارلوس أبو جودة" (المؤسس والشريك الإداري في شركة أبو جودة وشركاه للمحاماة) وغيرهم.
