Etihad ESCO to float an ESCO tender for 22 Seven Tides Properties

Etihad Energy Services (Etihad ESCO) has signed its first private sector service agreement with UAE based luxury property developer Seven Tides, it was announced today. As part of this agreement, Etihad ESCO will now develop and tender ESCO activities for 22 properties, that are owned and managed by Seven Tides.
Seven Tides is a Dubai-based privately owned luxury property developer and holding company. The company has developed and owns a variety of projects spanning residential, commercial and resort properties. Some of the prominent assets under Seven Tides include premium hotels such as DUKES Dubai, Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort, and Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel.
Under the Service Agreement, Etihad ESCO will provide Services to at least 22 properties, including offices, hotels and residential units in the emirate. The service agreement will provide Seven Tides with the market’s best energy conservation and solar solutions across Seven Tides’ portfolio of current real estate and hospitality projects.
“Our partnership with Seven Tides is an important achievement. We believe this will inspire other private sector players to implement energy efficient measures, which will help them with sustainable and long-term cost savings. We will also be submitting a tender for the services that will include solar PV installation at Seven Tides’ properties. In order to support private players with energy efficiency, Etihad ESCO will also provide Seven Tides with flexible financing solutions. This is a milestone service agreement and more of such involvement with the private sector is essential if we are to achieve Dubai’s 30% energy savings target.” said Ali Al Jassim, CEO Etihad ESCO, at the signing ceremony.
The service agreement is the first private sector contract that Etihad ESCO has signed after a number of successful retrofit projects for public sector organisations including, DEWA, JAFZA Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment (MRHE) and Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) to name a few. According to Etihad ESCO, the partnership with Seven Tides will highlight the effective role of the private sector in attaining the goals under Dubai’s Integrated Energy Strategy. The strategy has set a target for Dubai of 30% energy savings by 2030.
Commenting on the partnership Abdulla Bin Sulayem, CEO Seven Tides said, “We are excited to cooperate with Dubai government's efforts to develop energy efficiency. Companies today realise the significance of adopting efficient solutions, which rationalise energy consumption and take into consideration the financial impact resulting from retrofitting existing facilities. شركة الاتحاد لخدمات الطاقة " الاتحاد إسكو" توقع اتفاقية خدمات مع شركة " سفن تايدز إنترناشيونال العقارية"
دبي ، الإمارات العربية المتحدة : أعلنت شركة الاتحاد لخدمات الطاقة (الاتحاد إسكو) اليوم عن توقيعها أول اتفاقية لها مع القطاع الخاص، وذلك مع شركة ’سفن تايدز إنترناشيونال‘ الواقع مقرها في دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، والمتخصصة في تطوير العقارات الفاخرة ، حيث تنص الاتفاقية على قيام ’الاتحاد إسكو‘ بتصميم أنشطة تتعلق بخدمات الطاقة، وطرحها للمناقصات في 22 من العقارات المملوكة والمدارة من قبل ’سفن تايدز‘.
وقد نجحت ’سفن تايدز‘ – الشركة القابضة المتخصصة في تطوير العقارات الفاخرة، والواقع مقرها في دبي- في بناء محفظة من المشاريع الناجحة المتنوعة التي طورتها بنفسها، بما يشمل مشاريع تجارية وعقارية ومنتجعات وفنادق من أبرزها ’ديوكس دبي‘، و’منتجع أنانتارا ذا بالم‘، وفندق ’ابن بطوطة جيت‘.
وبموجب الاتفاقية ستقوم ’الاتحاد إسكو‘ بتوفير خدماتها إلى 22 على الأقل من العقارات التابعة لـ’سفن تايدز‘، بما يشمل وحدات مكتبية وفندقية وسكنية في الإمارة، وذلك لتزويدها بباقة من الحلول الرائدة لترشيد استهلاك الطاقة وتسخير الطاقة الشمسية بما سيثري محفظة ’سفن تايدز‘ المتنوعة.
وقال علي الجاسم، الرئيس التنفيذي لـ’الاتحاد إسكو‘ أثناء مراسم توقيع الاتفاقية: "تمثّل اتفاقيتنا مع ’سفن تايدز‘ خطوة هامة للغاية، حيث نرى بأنها ستشكل حافزاً جديداً لشركات القطاع الخاص كي تتبع إجراءات فعالة لترشيد استهلاك الطاقة، مما يسهم في خفض تكاليفها على المدى الطويل. كما سنقدم مناقصة خدمية لتركيب ألواح كهرضوئية في عقارات ’سفن تايدز‘، وسنزود الشركة بحلول تمويل في خطوة تؤكد دعمنا للجهود التي تبذلها الشركات الخاصة في سبيل تعزيز كفاءة الطاقة". و أضاف: "يشكل هذا الاتفاق خطوة هامة نحو ترسيخ وتحسين تعاوننا مع القطاع الخاص من أجل تحقيق هدف دبي في ترشيد استهلاك الطاقة بنسبة 30%".
ويشار إلى أن هذه الاتفاقية - وهي أول عقد توقعه ’الاتحاد إسكو‘ مع القطاع الخاص- تأتي بعد سلسلة من مشاريع تحديث المباني الناجحة لصالح جهات عامّة مثل هيئة كهرباء ومياه دبي، والمنطقة الحرة في جبل علي (جافزا)، ومؤسسة محمد بن راشد للإسكان (MRHE)، ومركز دبي المالي العالمي (DIFC)، وغيرها. ووفقاً لـ’الاتحاد‘، فإن التعاون مع ’سفن تايدز‘ يسلّط الضوء على الدور الفاعل الذي يلعبه القطاع الخاص في تحقيق الأهداف المشمولة باستراتيجية دبي المتكاملة للطاقة، والتي تتضمن خفض استهلاك الطاقة بنسبة 30% بحلول 2030.
ومن جانبه، علّق عبدالله بن سليم، الرئيس التنفيذي لـ’سفن تايدز‘، على توقيع الاتفاقية بالقول: "نحن في غاية الحماسة والسرور للتعاون مع حكومة دبي في هذا المجال، إذ تدرك شركتنا أهمية اعتماد الحلول التي ترشد استهلاك الطاقة وتأخذ في عين الاعتبار الأثر المالي الملموس لمشاريع إعادة تأهيل المنشآت والمباني القائمة حالياً. ومما لا شك فيه أن ’الاتحاد إسكو‘ سيكون لها دور محوري في إتاحة المزيد من الفرص المميّزة المماثلة لتحسين الجودة البيئية للمباني في المنطقة، وهو ما يسرنا ويشرّفنا أن نكون جزءاً منه".
وتجدر الإشارة إلى أن ’الاتحاد إسكو‘ تحرص على تشجيع ودعم هذا النوع من الشراكات مع القطاع الخاص بغية إتاحة فرص جديدة للإستثمار ومزاولة الأعمال والمساهمة في تحويل دبي إلى مدينة مستدامة وذكية.
