Delta Partners appoints new partner to boost its corporate finance business


Dubai, 15 November 2016 - Delta Partners, a leading advisory and investment firm specialized in the telecoms, media and digital (TMD) space, recently announced the appointment of Khumo Shuenyane as its latest partner in the firm.

Khumo has over 20 years of experience within the fields of finance, mergers & acquisitions, private equity and corporate strategy. He has been appointed as a group partner with a special focus on Corporate Finance within the Sub-Saharan Africa market, leveraging his previous experience.

Khumo’s appointment builds on an established working relationship with Delta Partners, following a period of three years in which he has served as a member of the Delta Partners Corporate Finance Advisory Board, and partnered with the Corporate Finance team on a number of engagements.

In his previous roles, Khumo served as Group Chief Mergers & Acquisitions Officer for MTN Group Limited between 2007 and 2013. For the nine years prior to 2007 Khumo was an executive at Investec Bank Limited in Johannesburg. During his time at Investec Khumo served as a member of the Corporate Finance team for five years and subsequently led the Bank’s Principal Investments team for four years, with responsibility for initiating, executing and managing the Bank’s on-balance sheet equity investments. Khumo is a chartered accountant by training, having qualified with Arthur Andersen in the UK in 1995 before returning to South Africa and serving the firm for a further two years in Johannesburg.  

Khumo currently serves as an independent non-executive director on the boards of various companies and committees in the Investec group of companies, including LSE listed Investec plc and JSE listed Investec Limited and Investec Property Fund Limited.
