UAE, November 2, 2016 - Al Ansari Exchange, the UAE-based foreign exchange and
worldwide money transfer company, was recognised by the United Nations
Association of the USA (UNA-USA) and the United Nations Foundation during the
recent annual Global Leadership Dinner in New York. The leading financial
services company was honoured for its key role in supporting the work of the United
Nations by making financial and moral contributions to Nothing But Nets, a
global grassroots campaign to raise awareness and funding to fight malaria.
Rashed Al Ansari, General Manager of Al Ansari Exchange, accepted the honour on
behalf of the company.
During its participation at the dialogue session and the
dinner, Al Ansari Exchange highlighted the strategic role of the private sector
in supporting the initiatives of the United Nations such as eradicating poverty
and creating opportunities for education and healthcare support. The company
continues to focus on philanthropic initiatives to highlight and support global
challenges in line with its corporate social responsibility programme. In the
past, it has partnered with key international organizations to uphold
humanitarian issues and advocate the sustainable development of the global
economy, society and environment.

Exchange, which has enabled our life-saving work such as training thousands of
community health workers in Sierra Leone and providing 60,000 bed nets to
protect refugees in Cameroon from malaria. We look forward to a continued
partnership to ensure that children and refugee families do not have to fear
dying from a mosquito bite.”
Founded in 2006, Nothing But Nets has saved many
children and families, especially refugees living in vulnerable settings, from
malaria by providing nearly 10 million insecticide-treated bed nets, along with
other malaria prevention and treatment. Currently, it has more than 300,000 supporters
dedicated to the eradication of the entirely preventable and treatable disease.
The latest statistics indicate that death from malaria has reduced to nearly 70
per cent among children aged five and under in the sub-Saharan Africa.

الإمارات، 2 نوفمبر 2016 – حظيت شركة "الأنصاري للصرافة" (Al Ansari Exchange)، الشركة الاماراتية المتخصّصة في توفير
خدمات صرف العملات الأجنبية والتحويلات المالية حول العالم، بتكريم رابطة الأمم
المتحدة (United
Nations Association) في
الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وذلك خلال حفل عشاء توزيع جوائز "القيادات
العالمية" (Global
Leadership Dinner) في نيويورك.
وتم تكريم شركة الخدمات المالية الرائدة لدورها الهام في دعم أعمال الأمم المتحدة من
خلال تقديمها مساهمات مالية وعينية لحملة "لا شيء سوى الناموسيات" (Nothing But Nets)، وهي حملة شعبية عالمية تهدف إلى تعزيز
الوعي بمكافحة مرض الملاريا وجمع الأموال لهذا الغرض. وحضر الحفل نيابة عن "الأنصاري
للصرافة"، راشد علي الأنصاري، المدير العام للشركة.
وسلطت "الأنصاري
للصرافة" خلال مشاركتها في الجلسة الحوارية وحفل العشاء، الضوء على دور الاستراتيجي
للقطاع الخاص في دعم جهود ومبادرات الأمم المتحدة في مجال مكافحة الفقر وخلق فرص
التعليم ودعم قطاع الرعاية الصحية. وتواصل الشركة تركيزها على المبادرات الخيرية
من أجل دعم الجهود العالمية في هذا الإطار تماشياً مع برنامجها للمسؤولية
الاجتماعية، كما سبق للشركة أن أقامت علاقات شراكة مع المؤسسات الدولية للنهوض
بالقضايا الإنسانية ودعم التنمية المستدامة للاقتصاد العالمي والمجتمع والبيئة.

وقامت رابطة الأمم
المتحدة أيضاً خلال حفل العشاء بتكريم باراك أوباما، رئيس الولايات المتحدة
الأمريكية، تقديراً لعمله الإنساني بصفته رئيساً لواحد من أكبر الاقتصادات في
العالم. وحضر حفل عشاء توزيع جوائز "القيادات العالمية" مجموعة من
الشخصيات الدولية المرموقة.
وقالت مارغريت ريلي
ماكدونيل، رئيس حملة "لا شيء سوى الناموسيات" التابعة لرابطة الأمم
المتّحدة: "نحن سعداء بالدعم الكبير الذي نحظى به من قبل "الأنصاري
للصرافة" والذي شكّل إضافة نوعية إلى جهودنا المستمرة من أجل تدريب الآلاف من
عمال صحة المجتمع ففي سيراليون وتوفير 60,000 ناموسية
لحماية اللاجئين في الكاميرون من خطر الإصابة بمرض الملاريا. ونحن نتطلّع
قدماً لمواصلة العمل والتعاون المثمر مع "الأنصاري للصرافة" في إطار
الجهود المشتركة للوقاية من لدغات البعوض وتوفير سبل العيش الآمن للأطفال والأسر
اللاجئة".
واستهدفت حملة "لا
شيء سوى الناموسيات"، التي تم إطلاقها خلال العام 2006، حماية العديد من
الأطفال والعائلات، لا سيما من اللاجئين الذين يعيشون في بيئات عرضة للخطر، من
الإصابة بمرض الملاريا من خلال توزيع أكثر من 10 ملايين ناموسية معالجة بمبيدات
الحشرات بالإضافة إلى سبل الوقاية والعلاج منه. ويوجد حالياً ما يزيد على 300.000
ناشط وداعم لمكافحة هذا المرض الذي يمكن الوقاية منه والقابل للعلاج بشكل تام، كما
تشير آخر الإحصائيات إلى أن معدل الوفيات الناجمة عن الإصابة بهذا المرض انخفضت
إلى ما يقرب من 70% بين الأطفال بعمر 5 سنوات أو أقل في أفريقيا جنوب الصحراء
الكبرى.
