First session discusses agenda of smart learning with participation of local & international academics from inside and outside the university
UAE, September 27, 2016 – In a bid to uphold the UAE’s smart education sector, Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) has launched ‘Innovation Lab for the Future of Smart Learning’. The new Lab is a qualitative addition that will make strategic contribution in exploring the future of smart education in the UAE by stimulating innovation and creativity in developing knowledge. It will also adopt a culture of continuous and sustainable development, confirming the pioneering position of HBMSU as a center of academic and scientific excellence in the Arab world.
Innovation Lab aims to provide a world-class interactive platform to stimulate innovation, strengthen creative thinking about smart learning methods in the world, and enhance communication among a group of prominent international academic experts. This will be done through a series of monthly meetings organized under the umbrella of HBMSU to determine the major emerging challenges, explore opportunities and address urgent issues in the smart education sector. At the same time, it will give recommendations and build innovative road maps to overcome the obstacles and improve the learning experience for the benefit of the learners all over the world, faculty and administrative bodies in the smart universities. The discussions will encompass all aspects of the development of the modern education system, with a particular focus on finding productive solutions to the current challenges in the field of smart education. It will also review the best practices and innovative educational methodologies that support advanced smart learning methods with the aim to develop educational models that not only open new horizons but also improve the standards in the field of smart education and distance learning.
Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of HBMSU, said: “The launch of ‘Innovation Lab for the future of Smart Learning’ complements the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and President of HBMSU. It is also in line with the main fundamentals adopted by the university in its march towards achieving leadership and excellence in innovation and creativity to keep pace with the growing requirements of 21st century. The ‘Innovation Lab’ is vital as it brings together academics from HBMSU and outside the university within an integrated global platform for brainstorming and spreading the culture of innovative and creative thinking about smart learning methods as a cornerstone for the transfer of knowledge. This will ensure that we adopt the best practices in the future to ensure the UAE’s march towards comprehensive development and cultural growth.”

The agenda of the ‘Innovation Lab’ was recently unveiled at the first meeting which was headed by Dr. Al Awar. The session reviewed the strategic objectives of the initiative and discussed a range of important issues and topics on developing methods of smart education. It also agreed on the key points that will be focused on in the next session scheduled on October 26, 2016.
The ‘Innovation Lab’ will held a series of monthly meetings attended by faculty members and the management of HBMSU. These sessions will be moderated alternately by each of the heads of the university’s six academic programs departments.

الاجتماع الأوّل ناقش مجموعة من الموضوعات الهامة التي تُعنى بتطوير أساليب التعليم الذكي بمشاركة أكاديميين من داخل الجامعة وخارجها
الإمارات، 27 سبتمبر2016 – في خطوة نوعية للارتقاء بقطاع التعليم الذكي في دولة الإمارات، أطلقت "جامعة حمدان بن محمد الذكية" مبادرة "مختبر الإبداع في مستقبل التعليم الذكي" الذي يشكّل إضافةً نوعيةً إلى جملة المساهمات الاستراتيجية المتمحورة حول استشراف مستقبل التعليم الذكي في دولة الإمارات عن طريق تحفيز بيئة الابتكار والإبداع في صناعة المعرفة وتبنّي ثقافة التطوّر المستمر والمستدام، تأكيداً على المكانة الريادية التي تتبوّأها الجامعة كمركز للتميّز الأكاديمي والعلمي في العالم العربي.
ويستهدف "مختبر الإبداع لاستشراف مستقبل التعليم الذكي" تقديم منصة تفاعلية عالمية المستوى لتحفيز الابتكار وترسيخ جسور التواصل والتفكير الإبداعي في أساليب التعليم الذكي في العالم التي تضم نخبة من أبرز الخبراء الأكاديميين العالميين، وذلك عبر سلسلة من الاجتماعات الشهرية التي ستقام تحت مظلة الجامعة للوقوف على أبرز التحديات الناشئة والفرص والقضايا الملحّة في قطاع التعليم الذكي من أجل الخروج بتوصيات وخارطات طريق مبتكرة لتذليل العقبات والارتقاء بالتجربة التعليمية بما يصب في خدمة الدارسين حول العالم وكذلك الهيئات التدريسية والإدارية في الجامعات الذكية. وستغطي اللقاءات النقاشية كافة الجوانب والمحاور التي تُعنى بتطوير المنظومة التعليمية الحديثة، مع التركيز بشكل خاص على إيجاد الحلول المثمرة للتحديات الراهنة في مجال التعليم الذكي ومناقشة أفضل الممارسات والمنهجيات التربوية المبتكرة التي تحاكي أساليب التعليم الذكي المتطوّرة، في خطوة طموحة لاستحداث نماذج تعليمية قادرة على فتح آفاق جديدة لرفع المعايير المحلية والدولية في مجال التعليم الذكي والتعلّم عن بعد.
وقال الدكتور منصور العور، رئيس "جامعة حمدان بن محمد الذكية": "يأتي إطلاق "مختبر الإبداع في مستقبل التعليم الذكي" تحقيقاً لتوجيهات سيدي سمو الشيخ حمدان بن محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم، ولي عهد دبي الرئيس الأعلى للجامعة، وتماشياً مع الأسس الجوهرية التي تستند إليها "جامعة حمدان بن محمد الذكية" في مسيرتها نحو الريادة والتميّز في معترك الابتكار والإبداع من أجل مواكبة المتطلّبات المتنامية التي يفرضها القرن الحادي والعشرين. وتكمن أهمية "مختبر الإبداع" في كونه يجمع أكاديميين من داخل الجامعة وخارجها ضمن منصة عالمية موحّدة لتشجيع العصف الذهني ونشر ثقافة الابتكار والتفكير الإبداعي بأساليب التعليم الذكي باعتبارها ركناً أساسياً لنقل المعرفة وصنع المستقبل من خلال تبنّي أفضل الممارسات التي تدعم مسيرة التنمية الشاملة والنهضة الحضارية لدولة الإمارات."
وأضاف العور: "تواصل "جامعة حمدان بن محمد الذكية" جهودها الحثيثة نحو الوصول بالمنظومة التعليمية المحلية إلى مستويات جديدة من التنافسية والريادة على الخارطة الإقليمية والعالمية من خلال تنظيم المبادرات والفعاليات النوعية التي تدعم عمليات استشراف وصنع المستقبل، انطلاقاً من مسؤوليتها الوطنية وتطلّعاتها الإسترتيجية الرامية إلى إثراء المعرفة وبناء مجتمع مثقّف يتّسم بالفكر الإبداعي والتميّز القيادي لمواصلة مسيرة التطوّر والتنمية في دولة الإمارات، تحقيقاً لمستهدفات "الإستراتيجية الوطنية للإبتكار" و"رؤية الإمارات 2021" في توفير بيئة مجتمعية مرتكزة على أعلى معايير الجودة والحياة الرغيدة وبناء اقتصاد مستدام قائم على المعرفة والتنوّع والشمولية."
وافتُتِحت أعمال "مختبر الإبداع" بعقد الاجتماع الأوّل مؤخراً برئاسة الدكتور منصور العور، والذي تم خلاله استعراض الأهداف الإستراتيجية للمبادرة ومناقشة مجموعة من القضايا والموضوعات الهامة التي تُعنى بتطوير أساليب التعليم الذكي، بالإضافة إلى الاتّفاق على النقاط الأساسية التي سيتم التركيز عليها في الجلسة القادمة المقرّر انعقادها يوم 26 أكتوبر/تشرين الأوّل المقبل.
ويُذكر أن "مختبر الإبداع" يضم سلسلة من اللقاءات والاجتماعات التي ستقام على أساس شهري بمشاركة أعضاء الهيئة التدريسية والإدارية من "جامعة حمدان بن محمد الذكية"، والتي سيتولى إدارتها بالمناوبة كل من رؤساء أقسام البرامج الأكاديمية الستة في الجامعة.
