Cairo, May 19, 2016 - Careem’s Captains have been serving Egyptians since they started operations in 2014. Since their establishment, Careem has done more than offer a reliable transportation service to Egyptians - they’ve impacted the Egyptian economy by creating thousands of job opportunities for people across Egypt’s major cities, and bringing in millions of dollars in investments.
Careem recruits more than 2000 new captains a month, adding to their current reserve of 12,000 Captains. Through recruitment as such, Careem offers stable income to thousands of families, and allows drivers to work on their own vehicles, in their own time. The job opportunities offered by Careem come at the crucial time when unemployment rates are at their highest, allowing people from all walks of life to observe an honest and alternative employment opportunities.
Demand for Careem’s services is on the rise, with a steady monthly growth rate of 40%-60%.
Careem also employs hundreds of Egyptians at its call center, with over 250 people at its headquarters in Egypt alone, and growing.
Aside from offering employment opportunities, Careem has also impacted the Egyptian economy by bringing in more than USD 70 million worth of foreign investments into the company, the most recent being from The Abraaj Group, who invested $60 million for expansion across the region, including Egypt.
“Careem has changed how I think about educating my children,” says Careem Captain Hany Shehata, 40 years of age said. “Technology is a big component of education today, and therefore becoming an even bigger dream towards my children’s education. I don’t just want to educate my children, but I want to give them the best education I can possibly give them”.
Hayaam Emad, 32 year old single mother of two, is also a Captain with Careem, and says; “I believe you have to evolve your skills and acquire new skill sets all the time. No one else is going to do that for you, or help you through a tough spot. I took up driving for Careem when I was about to declare bankruptcy. It’s not hard work, and it helps me make good money so I’m grateful for Careem providing me with this opportunity”.

كريم توفر آلاف الفرص من العمل للكباتن

يقوم كباتن شركة كريم بتوفير خدمات النقل بالسيارات للعملاء الشركة منذ إطلاقها في مصر في عام 2014.فمنذ تأسيسها تقوم كريم بأكثر من توفير خدمات النقل المتميزة للمصريين، بل أثرت في الاقتصاد المصري بشكل كبير من خلال توفير آلاف من فرص العمل في المحافظات التي تعمل بها وضخ ملايين الدولارات في السوق.

إلى جانب توفير فرص العمل المتميزة، أثرت شركة كريم في الاتقصاد المصري أيضاً من خلال جلب استثمارات أجنبية مباشرة تفوق 70 مليون دولار للشركة؛ حيث ضمت آخر الاستثمارات ضخ مجموعة أبراج 60 مليون دولار للتوسع في المنطقة ومصر.
وأكد هاني شحاتة، أحد الكباتن بشركة كريم ذو 40 عاماً، أن الشركة غيرن طريقة تفكيري في كيفية تعليم أبنائي، مضيفاً أن التكنولوجيا هي مكون رئيسي للتعليم اليوم، وبالتالي أصبحت أحد أهم أحلامي تجاه تعليم أبنائي. لا أريد فقط تعليم أبنائي ولكني أريد أن يحصلوا على أفضل تعليم يمكنني توفيره لهم.
ومن جهتها قالت هيام عماد، 32 عاماً، وهي أم لطفلين وكابتن بشركة كريم: "أؤمن أن كل فرد يمكنه أن يطور مهاراته ويمتلك مهارات جديدة طوال الوقت. ولا أحد سيقوم بذلك عوضاً عنك ولا سيساعدك وقت الشدة. لقد بدأت العمل بشركة كريم حين كنت سأعلن إفلاسي. فهو ليس بالعمل الشاق وقد ساعدني على جني أموال جيدة، لذا فأنا ممنونة لكريم لتوفير فرصة العمل هذه لي".
