AUC TO DISCUSS RELIGIOUS TOLERANCE AND CULTURAL DIVERSITY




WHAT
Lecture, “Religious Tolerance and Cultural Diversity in the East Mediterranean Area,” organized by the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at The American University in Cairo (AUC).
The lecture presents a critical reflection on the relationship between religion and politics from the perspective of culture. It discusses the usage of culture as a mediating element towards a reintegration of the differentiated discourses of religion and politics with a focus on religious tolerance and cultural diversity in the Mediterranean region, which is an area of major importance for the multiple exchanges informing the interaction between the western and the Arab world.
