MEYLE renews Truck Racing technology partnership

  • Hamburg-based manufacturer Wulf Gaertner Autoparts will also be supporting the "tankpool24 racing team" for the 2016 FIA European Truck Racing Championship
  • Building on its commitment as a supplier of brake discs and pads in previous seasons, the automotive expert will also be supporting the "tankpool24" team with engine mounts and rpm sensors
  • Technological partnership to promote knowledge transfer

Hamburg, 30 March 2016. Restating its commitment to Truck Racing, MEYLE is renewing its technological partnership with the "tankpool24" racing team in 2016, supplying the crew with high-performance brake disc and pads along with engine mounts and rpm sensors.

The MEYLE brand offers a comprehensive range of commercial vehicle repair solutions including parts from the steering & chassis, suspension & damping, cooling and brakes product groups. Commercial vehicle brakes are exposed to high levels of stress, and even more so when used on race trucks competing in professional motor sport series such as the FIA European Truck Racing Championship. "The MEYLE brake discs and pads which we supply perform reliably under the most demanding racing conditions – daily proof of their excellent quality," says Sven Nielsen, Head of Strategic Product Development at MEYLE. Expanding the partnership with "tankpool24" MEYLE will also be providing the racing trucks with MEYLE engine mounts and rpm sensors.

As a technological partner of the racing team the MEYLE engineers maintain an on-going dialogue with the team's technicians, continually scrutinising and evaluating MEYLE part performance under race conditions. The findings are then fed back directly into the MEYLE brake development process. "We are excited to be continuing our technological partnership with the "tankpool24" team in the new racing season, as it allows both sides to benefit greatly from this bi-directional knowledge transfer," emphasises Nielsen.
