ECDC ORGANIZES ITS SECOND EMPLOYMENT FAIR AT SUEZ CANAL UNIVERSITY

 


WHAT
The second employment fair of the Employability and Career Development Center (ECDC) at Suez Canal University. The fair provides a forum for students and graduates of the university to meet with representatives from various industries providing over 300 job opportunities in commercial, engineering, medical and other career fields.


The ECDC at Suez Canal University was established in 2012 as a result of an agreement between the university and The American University in Cairo (AUC), with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). During the past three years, the Career Center at AUC provided its technical expertise and trained ECDC staff to become certified career development facilitators providing career guidance to Suez Canal University students and recent graduates.


To date, ECDC has provided its career services to more than 7000 SCU students, including individual career advising and workshops focusing on resume writing, interviewing skills and job search. In addition, English courses and employability skills training were offered to help the students prepare effectively for the labor market.

Major General Yassin Taher, governor of Ismailia; Katie Donohoe, director of Education and Training Office, United States Agency for International Development; Suez Canal University vice presidents, deans, and professors, in addition to representation from The American University in Cairo’s (AUC) Career Center. The event is held under the auspices of Mamdouh Ghorab, president of the Suez Canal University and Nahed Mostafa, vice president for post-graduate studies and researches.
