- Solution upgrades to help meet demand peaks at three power plants currently operating in Egypt
- Will help ensure reliability and availability of country’s energy supply
Siemens has extended a long-term contract to provide service and maintenance, as well as component upgrades, at the Nubaria, Talkha and El Kureimat power stations in Egypt. The agreement was signed under the supervision of Egyptian Electricity Holding Company (EEHC), represented by Middle Delta Electricity Production Company and Upper Egypt Electricity Production Company. The 10-year extension calls for Siemens to continue providing service and maintenance for eight SGT5-4000F gas turbines and the associated generators.
In addition to long-term service and maintenance, the scope of the new agreement for the three power stations includes several modernization and upgrade measures for the eight gas turbines in order to improve operational flexibility. For example, Siemens will apply a 33MAC upgrade to extend the intervals between the gas turbine inspections from 25,000 equivalent operating hours (EOH) to 33,000 EOH.
Siemens will also upgrade the gas turbine controls to its market leading
SPPA-T3000 control system. The upgrade will enable the plant operator to make faster, informed decisions in daily operation of the plant. A training program for the power plant personnel is also part of this new agreement.

Siemens has been doing business in Egypt since 1859 and has maintained a continuous presence in the country since opening its first office in Cairo in 1901. The company's technology and services have been implemented in the Nubaria, Talkha, El Kureimat, Damietta, Ataka, Sidi Krir, Ayoun Mousa, Cairo West and Midelec power plants. Siemens is also a key technology supplier for major projects in the mobility, healthcare and manufacturing sectors.

أعلنت شركة سيمنس عن تمديدها لعقد صيانة طويل الأجل لتوفير الخدمات والصيانة والتطوير لمحطات النوبارية وطلخا والكريمات في مصر. هذا وقد تم توقيع الاتفاقية بإشراف الشركة القابضة لكهرباء مصر؛ ويُمثلها شركتي وسط الدلتا لإنتاج الكهرباء والوجه القبلي لإنتاج الكهرباء. ووفقاً للعقد، والذي تبلغ مدته عشرة أعوام، فإن سيمنس ستواصل تقديمها للخدمات والصيانة لثماني توربينات غازية طراز SGT5-4000F، بالإضافة إلى المولدات الطاقة المُلحقة بهذه التوربينات.
وبالإضافة إلى توفير خدمات الصيانة للمحطات الثلاث، فإن نطاق عمل سيمنس، ووفقاً للعقد الجديد، يتضمن أيضا العديد من عمليات التطوير ورفع أداء ثماني توربينات غازية بهدف تحسين المرونة في العمليات التشغيلية للمحطات. فعلى سبيل المثال، ستقوم شركة سيمنس بتطبيق حلول upgrades 33MAC بهدف زيادة الفترات الفاصلة بين العمرات الرئيسية للتوربينات الغازية من 25,000 إلى 33,000 ساعة تشغيلية أو ما يُعادلها.
وعلاوة على ما سبق، ستقوم سيمنس أيضاً بتطوير أنظمة التحكم في التوربينات إلى أنظمة SPPA-T3000، الرائدة في السوق، حيث من شأن هذا التطوير أن يُمكنّ مشغلي المحطات من اتخاذ قرارات يومية أسرع وأكثر دقة فيما يتعلق بالعمليات التشغيلية اليومية في المحطات. وفي إطار الاتفاقية الجديدة، ستقوم سيمنس أيضا بتوفير برنامج تدريبي لطاقم العمل في المحطات.
وتعليقاً على توقيع الاتفاقية الجديدة، صرح تيم هولت، الرئيس التنفيذي لخدمات توليد الطاقة في سيمنس، وحدة أعمال الطاقة والغاز، قائلاً: "تلتزم سيمنس بالعمل الجاد مع وزارة الكهرباء في مصر من أجل مواجهة الطلب المُتزايد على الطاقة". وأضاف: "بهدف تطوير الأنظمة ورفع أداء محطات الكهرباء الموجود حالياً، فإننا سنوفر تقنياتنا المتقدمة من الخدمات؛ وهي الخدمات التي تشمل سرعة دراسة وتحليل البيانات عبر امكانيات المراقبة عن بعد للتأكد أن هذه المحطات تحظى بالاعتمادية طويلة الأجل ويمكن الاعتماد عليها لأعوام كثيرة مقبلة".
واختتم هولت كلامه: "إن ضمان أن المحطات القائمة حالياً في مصر يمكن الاعتماد عليها بشكل مستمر عبر تطوير هذه المحطات هو ضرورة مُلحة لتلبية التزايُد في الطلب على الطاقة خلال فترات الذروة".
يُشار هنا أن سيمنس بدأت العمل في مصر منذ العام 1859 وطوال هذه الفترة حافظت الشركة على تواجد قوي وراسخ في الدولة وذلك منذ أن افتتحت الشركة أول مكتب لها في القاهرة في العام 1901. ولقد تم تنفيذ تقنيات وخدمات الشركة في العديد من محطات الطاقة في مصر ومن ضمنها على سبيل المثال: النوبارية وطلخا والكريمات ودمياط وعتاقة وسيدي كرير وعيون موسى وغرب القاهرة وميدليك. كما أن سيمنس تعتبر المزود الرئيسي للتقنيات لأكبر المشروعات في مصر في قطاعات أنظمة النقل والرعاية الصحية والتصنيع.
