Dubai, UAE, 21 February, 2016: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has organised the fifth training course for contractors and consultants who specialise in installing solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. Trainees learned about the technical requirements, safety standards, and DEWA’s guidelines for installing PV panels on rooftops to generate electricity and connect it to DEWA’s grid. The training is part of DEWA’s efforts to ensure PV systems are designed and installed according to the highest international quality standards. This is part of the Shams Dubai initiative, which enables customers to install photovoltaic panels on building rooftops and connect them to DEWA’s grid.
To date, a total of 143 engineers have been certified as enrolled electrical and solar PV consultants and contractors. DEWA’s training course includes academic and practical training, covering all technical aspects of installing PV panels, as well as safety procedures.

“DEWA is committed to making all staff and partners aware of the latest standards in performance and ensuring the highest levels of security and safety. That’s why we offer this training programme to register specialised consultants and contractors to install PV panels in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. We also urge manufacturers of solar power equipment and tools to register their products with us so that we can approve them for installation. This will then result in solar systems being installed according to the highest standards, as part of DEWA’s Shams Dubai initiative, which supports the Smart Dubai initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai the smartest city in the world,” added Al Tayer.
DEWA is encouraging building owners to take advantage of the Shams Dubai initiative and locally generate clean energy which helps to reduce their electricity bills, increase their property value, protect the environment, support Dubai's economy, and guarantee a sustainable future for the Emirate. DEWA has outlined easy steps to install PV systems in buildings to generate solar power. The installation process starts with the customer contacting one of the consultants or contractors accredited by DEWA to suggest the best solution and obtain the necessary approvals from DEWA. After completing installation, they will submit a notification to DEWA to conduct the technical inspection of the site and install the meter to complete the connection process.
To register for training courses, contractors and consultants should nominate their employees and register on their behalf on the website www.dewa.gov.ae/shamsdubai that has information about the training courses, and registration requirements. It also publishes a list of consultants and contractors registered to install PV panels.

هيئة كهرباء ومياه دبي تمنح 143 من المهندسين والفنيين شهادة "خبير في الطاقة الشمسية بتقنية الألواح الكهروضوئية"
دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة، 21 فبراير 2016: نظمت هيئة كهرباء ومياه دبي الدورة التدريبية الخامسة للمقاولين والاستشاريين المختصين في تركيب أنظمة الطاقة الشمسية الكهروضوئية، لتعريفهم بالمتطلبات الفنية ومعايير السلامة وإرشادات الهيئة فيما يختص بتركيب الألواح الكهروضوئية على أسطح المباني لإنتاج الطاقة الشمسية وربطها بشبكة الهيئة، وذلك في إطار جهود الهيئة لضمان تصميم وتركيب أنظمة الطاقة الشمسية بتقنية الألواح الكهروضوئية في المباني وفق أعلى مستويات الجودة وأرقى المعايير العالمية في إطار مبادرة "شمس دبي" التي تتيح للمتعاملين إنتاج الطاقة الشمسية عبر تركيب الألواح الكهروضوئية فوق أسطح المباني وربطها بشبكة الهيئة. وبذلك، وصل إجمالي من اجتازوا الدورات التدريبية التي نظمتها الهيئة إلى 143 من المهندسين، حصلوا على شهادة "خبير في الطاقة الشمسية بتقنية الألواح الكهروضوئية". ويشمل البرنامج التدريبي الذي تقدمه الهيئة مواد دراسية وتطبيقات عملية تغطي الجوانب الفنية المتعلقة بتركيب الوحدات الشمسية الكهروضوئية، إضافة إلى موضوعات الأمن والسلامة.

وأضاف سعادته: "تحرص الهيئة على تزويد موظفيها وشركائها بأحدث المعايير العالمية لضمان تحقيق أرقى مستويات الجودة في الأداء وأعلى معايير السلامة والأمان، لذلك نقدم هذا البرنامج التدريبي لاعتماد الاستشاريين والمقاولين المختصين بتركيب أنظمة الطاقة الشمسية في المباني السكنية والتجارية والصناعية. كما تدعو الهيئة مصنّعي معدات وتجهيزات الطاقة الشمسية "الكهروضوئية" للتسجيل لدى الهيئة والتقدّم بشهادات اعتماد لمعدّاتهم حتى يتم تركيب الأنظمة الشمسية وفق أعلى المستويات في إطار مبادرة "شمس دبي" التي أطلقتها الهيئة في سبيل دعم مبادرة "دبي الذكية" التي أطلقها سيدي صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم، نائب رئيس الدولة، رئيس مجلس الوزراء، حاكم دبي، رعاه الله، لتحويل دبي إلى المدينة الأذكى في العالم".
وقد دعت الهيئة أصحاب المباني إلى الاستفادة من مبادرة "شمس دبي" وإنتاج الطاقة النظيفة محلياً، ما يساهم في تقليل قيمة فاتورة الكهرباء، ورفع قيمة العقار، والمساهمة في الحفاظ على البيئة عبر إنتاج طاقة نظيفة، إضافة إلى دعم اقتصاد دبي وضمان مستقبل مستدام للإمارة. وأكدت الهيئة سهولة تركيب أنظمة الطاقة الشمسية بتقنية الألواح الكهروضوئية في البيوت والمباني، حيث تبدأ خطوات تركيب النظام باستعانة المتعامل بأحد الاستشاريين أو المقاولين المعتمدين لدى الهيئة لاقتراح أفضل الحلول الملائمة للمكان. ثم يقوم الاستشاري أو المقاول بالحصول على الموافقات اللازمة من الهيئة. وبعد الانتهاء من أعمال التركيب، يقدم إخطاراً للهيئة لإجراء الفحص الفني وتركيب العداد وإتمام عملية الربط مع شبكة الهيئة.
للتسجيل في الدورات التدريبية، يتعين على الشركات الاستشارية والمقاولين ترشيح موظفيهم وتقديم الطلبات بالنيابة عنهم عبر الموقع الإلكتروني www.dewa.gov.ae/shamsdubai الذي يوفر معلومات عن الدورات التدريبية ومتطلبات التسجيل. كما يوفر الموقع للجمهور قائمة بالمقاولين والاستشاريين المسجلين لدى الهيئة كاستشاري أو مقاول كهربائي في مجال الطاقة الشمسية الكهروضوئية.
