CommScope Focuses Wireless Network Site Solutions on LTE Capacity

United Arab Emirates, February 17, 2016—Wireless network operators around the globe have invested significantly in LTE and need more solutions for increasing the life of their networks. To this end, CommScope is offering new cell site solutions that make deploying sites easier and adding capacity more efficient.

“From the tower top to bottom, CommScope is developing and supplying unique solutions that meet real-world needs,” said Ben Cardwell, senior vice president, Mobility Solutions, CommScope. “Whether it’s traditional macro sites on cell towers, metro cells in cities or distributed antenna systems (DAS) and small cells indoors, CommScope finds the way to solve our customers’ most pressing RF Path problems.”

  • At the tower top, CommScope continues to promote the advantages of SiteRise™, the complete, factory-assembled fiber to the antenna solution that makes it easy to standardize macro site deployments. In SiteRise, CommScope combines and pre-configures all RF equipment—antennas, remote radio units, cable assemblies—in one, tower-mountable unit. SiteRise avoids installation errors while streamlining deployments and mitigating against passive intermodulation (PIM) interference. SiteRise is especially helpful in regions where skilled installers are few.

  • At the bottom of cell towers, CommScope is manufacturing cabinets designed specifically for Cloud-RAN architectures in the macro wireless network and for small cell or outdoor distributed antenna system (DAS) applications. CommScope’s C-RAN Cabinets include enclosures for hub sites where baseband processing is centralized and node sites at the network edge. The C-RAN Cabinets support fiber connections and cable management while flexibly integrating power and other equipment.

  • For monopole sites such as mini-macros or metro cells, CommScope is offering a new structural site solution that integrates the pole and cabinet to ease the challenges of site acquisition and installation. The integrated pole/cabinet solution connects AC power, radio equipment, transmission lines and antennas in one unit and supports both Wi-Fi and cellular networks.  It is the latest addition to CommScope’s Metro Cell Concealment Solutions portfolio.

  • CommScope also now offers a Powered Fiber Cable System for transporting power and communications to tower surveillance cameras, Wi-Fi access points, small cells and other remote devices. The Powered Fiber Cable System extends Power over Ethernet (PoE) connectivity for up to three kilometres and supports both single-mode and multimode fiber.

CommScope will showcase its comprehensive portfolio of wireless network infrastructure solutions at Mobile World Congress 2016 in Barcelona, Spain in Hall 2, Stand #2J30.
