Huawei considers Egypt the gateway for a promising future in Africa
[Cairo, Egypt. February 25th 2016] Huawei, the leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider participated at Africa 2016 Forum, which took place on the 20th to the 21st of February at Sharm El Sheikh under the patronage of H.E. President Abdel El Fattah El Sisi and the African Union. The conference aims at accelerating private sector engagement and investment within Africa, to help develop new ties and partnerships, highlighting opportunities in Africa.
Jimmy Pang, Huawei Technologies Vice President affirmed Huawei’s strong presence and commitment to Egypt and stated: ““The Egyptian government has a solid awareness of the importance of ICT sector. We always consider Egypt as our strategic market with strong potential, and plans to keep a long-term partnership. Huawei has been an active player in the Egyptian ICT sector for the past 16 years, and we will continue provide the latest innovations and solutions for a better connected Egypt”. Jimmy added.
Huawei held a meeting with H.E. Sherif Ismail, Egypt’s Prime Minister and Eng. Yasser El Kady, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology to discuss the future cooperation between Egypt and Huawei. The discussions were focused on Huawei’s possible integration in national mega projects such as the Suez Canal Economic Zone, New Capital City and smart metering project. Both parties also discussed ways Huawei could provide to ease the transformation to a digital society.
H.E. Sherif Ismail, Prime Minister, He commended Huawei partnership, integration and commitment to the development of the Egyptian ICT sector and he said: “I recognize Huawei's strategic investment in the Egyptian market, and also its initiatives for developing the ICT industry in Egypt. Huawei has progressed well , I trust that Huawei will contribute more to boosting the nation's communications and increasing ICT adoption through our government and public services. I encourage Huawei to invest more and play a meaningful role in our major national projects."
Huawei also had a fruitful meeting with Dr. Sahar Nasr, Egypt’s Minister of International Cooperation who affirmed that “I know and trust Huawei’s capabilities and appreciate its efforts to improve the lives of Egyptian people and I invited Huawei to participate in Mega projects in light of the rapid development of Chinese-Egyptian relations.
Dr. Tarek Kabil, Minister of Trade and Industry said: “I applaud Huawei’s excellent performance and steady growth in the Egyptian market. I also appreciate the efforts in extending the cooperation with local manufacturing by participating the national Mega projects.”
From his side Jimmy added “We are keen on developing the ICT capabilities of Egyptian engineers who run our operation not only in Egypt, but in more than 23 countries in the North Africa region, this is why Egypt was among the 37 countries that hosted our flagship training program Seeds for the Future”.
Huawei is showing strong affirmation to the wellbeing of Egypt by not only supplying latest technologies but also by participating at important conferences similar to EEDC and PPP Summit which took place in 2015 for a better economic progress, and promoting ICT to play a more important role in the process of social and economic development.
هواوى تتطلع لفرص إستثمارية فى منتدى أفريقيا 2016
تعتبر مصر بوابة هواوى لمستقبل واعد فى السوق الأفريقي
القاهرة، مصر. 25 فبراير 2016: أشتركت هواوي، الشركة العالمية الرائدة فى توفير حلول الأتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات، في منتدى "أفريقيا 2016 " ، والذى جرت فعاليته في الفترة من 20 إلى 21 فبراير في شرم الشيخ تحت رعاية سيادة الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسى والاتحاد الأفريقي . ويهدف المنتدى إلى زيادة الفرص الأستثمارية ومشاركة القطاع الخاص في أفريقيا ، وأيضاً المساعدة في إلقاء الضوء على الفرص المتاحة في أفريقيا وتطوير العلاقات المشتركة.
وأكد السيد/ جيمي بانغ ، نائب رئيس شركة هواوي للتكنولوجيا على تواجد وإلتزام هواوى فى مصر، وقال: "إن الحكومة المصرية لديها وعي قوي بأهمية قطاع الاتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات وتعتبر هواوى مصر سوقا كبيرة وواعدة والتى نسعى الة الحفاظ على علاقات طويلة الأمد معها. ولقد لعبت هواوي دوراً فاعلا في قطاع الاتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات المصري على مدى السنوات الـ 16 الماضية ، وسنواصل تقديم أحدث الابتكارات والحلول لجعل مصر متصلةٍ بشكل أفضل ".
وخلال المنتدى، إلتقت شركة هواوى مع سيادة رئيس الوزراء المهندس/شريف إسماعيل ، وسيادة المهندس/ ياسر القاضى، وزير الاتصالات و تكنولوجيا المعلومات لمناقشة التعاون المستقبلي بين مصر وهواوي. وتركزت المناقشات على إمكانية مشاركة هواوى الكاملة في المشاريع القومية العملاقة مثل محور قناة السويس والعاصمة الأدارية الجديدة وصناعة الاتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات. وناقش الطرفان أيضا سبل التعاون مع هواوي للمساعدة فى التحول إلى مجتمع رقمى.
وأشاد معالى رئيس الوزارء المهندس/ شريف إسماعيل ، بالشراكة مع هواوي من حيث الألتزام الكامل بتطوير قطاع الأتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات المصري وقال: "إنني اقدر دور الأستثمار الأستراتيجي لهواوي في السوق المصرية ، وأيضا مبادراتها لتطوير صناعة الأتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات في مصر. لقد تقدمت هواوي جيدا فى السوق المصرى، وأنا على ثقة تامة بأن هواوي ستساهم أكثر في تعزيز قطاع الأتصالات في البلاد وزيادة الأعتماد على تكنولوجيا المعلومات من خلال حكومتنا والخدمات العامة. وأنا أشجع هواوي على زيادة الأستثمار وتفعيل دورها الأستراتيجي في المشاريع الوطنية الكبرى".
وخلال الأجتماع المثمر مع الدكتورة / سحر نصر وزيرة التعاون الدولي لمصر صرحت " أنا على معرفة وثيقة وإيمان بقدرات شركة هواوي ونقدر جهودها فى تحسين الحياة العامة للشعب المصري. ولقد وجهت الدعوة لهواوي للمشاركة في المشاريع الكبرى تدعيما للعلاقات الثنائية الصينية المصرية".
وقال الدكتور طارق قابيل ، وزير التجارة و الصناعة: " لقد تألقت هواوى بالأداء المتميز والنمو المطرد في السوق المصرية . ونتطلع الى مزيد من التعاون مع المصنعين المحليين فى المشروعات الوطنية الكبرى."
من جانبه أضاف السيد/ جيمي " نحرص على تطوير قدرات المهندسين المصريين في مجال صناعة الأتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات والذين يديرون عملياتنا ليس فقط فى مصر بل في أكثر من 23 دولة في منطقة شمال أفريقيا ، ولذلك كانت مصر من بين 37 دولة التي إستضافت برنامجنا التدريبى الأهم "Seeds for the Future".
وأكدت هواوي على تواجدها القوى لحياه أفضل لرفاهية مصر، وذلك ليس فقط عن طريق توفير أحدث التقنيات ولكن أيضا من خلال المشاركة في المؤتمرات الهامة مثل المؤتمر الأقتصادى ومنتدى مشاركة القطاع الخاص عام 2015 للمساهمة فى تقدم إقتصادي أفضل .
