Mike Vroom appointed as Executive Assistant Manager in charge of Rooms; luxury hotel and hotel apartments on Palm Jumeirah to bring best of British to Dubai
Dubai-based luxury property developer and holding company Seven Tides International has named the newest member of its opening executive team with the appointment of Mike Vroom as Executive Assistant Manager – Rooms for its latest five-star hospitality venture, DUKES Dubai on Palm Jumeirah.
A graduate of the International Hotel School of the American Hotel & Lodging Association, he will lead the rooms division operation for both the 273-room hotel and 227 hotel apartments, and brings with him extensive experience garnered from key roles in leading luxury properties in his native South Africa.
“Mike is a young dynamic hotelier with a proven track record in the key areas of revenue growth and business optimisation, as well as having an excellent operational eye for detail, which is something that will define the DUKES Dubai experience,” said Abdulla Bin Sulayem, CEO, Seven Tides International.
Vroom joins the DUKES team directly from a senior role with a duo of leading South African properties, the luxury boutique Queen Victoria Hotel and Dock House Hotel in Cape Town, where he was resident manager for both locations.
Prior to that, he was in charge of the entire rooms operation at the all-suite Saxon Hotel, Villas and Spa, which entailed hands-on responsibility across an extended remit including reservations, concierge, housekeeping, and the 24/7 butler service.
A highlight of his career progression to date, Vroom was previously manager of the hotel’s exclusive villas product, which he managed from pre-opening, as well as heading up the butler services team.
He also has estate management experience, which will prove extremely useful in the DUKES Dubai pre-opening phase, having worked for Sol Kerzner, owner of Kerzner International, as Assistant Estate Manager at the iconic Leeukoppie Estate in the prestigious Hout Bay area of Cape Town.

Centrally located on the trunk of Palm Jumeirah, just 10 minutes’ drive from Dubai Marina and Sheikh Zayed Road, and only 45 minutes from Dubai International Airport, DUKES Dubai hotel and hotel apartments is set to add a distinctly British flavour to the city’s luxury hospitality offering.
The 273-room hotel and 227 hotel apartments will offer world-class leisure, conference and entertainment facilities including a stunning private beach, indoor pool, outdoor infinity pool and state-of-the-art gym, along with a number of food and beverage outlets.

تعيين مدير مساعد تنفيذي في قسم الغرف في فندق ديوكز دبي
أعلنت سيفن تايدز، شركة التطوير العقاري الفاخر والشركة القابضة، عن تعيين مايك فروم بمنصب المدير التنفيذي المساعد لقسم الغرف في مشروعها الفندقي الأحدث فئة خمس نجوم، ديوكز دبي، والمقام في النخلة جميرا.
ويتمتع مايك بخبرة واسعة في مجال الضيافة من خلال شغله مناصب مهمة في فنادق فاخرة في وطنه الأم جنوب أفريقيا. وهو متخرج من كليلة الفنادق الدولية التابعة للجمعية الأمريكية للفنادق والضيافة وسيتولى قيادة عمليات قسم الغرف في فندق سيفن تايدز المؤلف من 273 غرفة وفي الشقق الفندقية البالغ عددها 227 شقة.
ويقول عبد الله بن سليم الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة سفن تايدز الدولية ، "يعتبر مايك أحد الوجوه الشابة المتميزة في قطاع الفنادق حيث يملك سجلاً حافلاً في العمل في القطاعات الرئيسية المساهمة في نمو الايرادات وتطوير الأعمال. وفضلاً عن ذلك، فهو يتمتع برؤية تشغيلية ممتازة لما يتعلق بالتفاصيل، وهو الأمر الذي يميز علامة ديوكز دبي."
هذا، وينضم فروم إلى فريق ديكوز دبي قادماً من بعض المنشآت الفندقية الرائدة في جنوب أفريقيا في كل من فندق كوين فكتوريا، وهو فندق بوتيك فاخر، وفندق دوك هاوس في كيب تاون، حيث شغل منصب مدير مقيم في هذين الفندقين.
وقبل ذلك، تولى مسؤولية عمليات كافة الغرف التابعة في فندق وفلل وسبا ساكسون متكامل الأجنحة، حيث تضمنت مهامه المباشرة الحجوزرات والكونسيرج والتدبير المنزلي والخدمات الشخصية على مدار الساعة.
وتتمثل إحدى محطات العمل البارزة في عمل فروم في شغله منصب مدير الفلل التابعة للفندق حيث أدار عمليات ما قبل الافتتاح وكذلك فريق الخدمات الشخصية.
ويتمتع بروم بخبرة أيضاً في مجال إدارة العقارات حيث عمل مع شركة سول كيرزنر، مالكة علامة كيرزنر انترناشيونال وشغل أيضاً منصب مدير العقارات المساعد في ليوكوبي العقاري المقام في خليج هاوت الفاخر في كيب تاون. وستسهم هذه الخبرة بشكل نافع في المرحلة التي تسبق افتتاح مشروع ديوكز دبي.
ويضيف ميتي اتاكومان المدير العام لدبي ديوكز، "نحن مسرورون للغاية لما يتمتع به مايك من خبرة في مجال الأغذية والمشروبات بعد أن عمل مع بعض أرقى المنشآت المعروفة في جنوب أفريقيا مثل فندق كيب جريس في كيب تاون. وإنطلاقاً من تحليه بروح عمل الفريق، فأنا على ثقة تامة بأن هذا الأمر سيضفي قيمة لما يتعلق بتعزيز العلاقة ما بين قسم الغرف والمأكولات والمشروبات ويعمل في الوقت ذاته على تعزيز تجربة الضيوف بشكل كبير ومنذ اليوم الأول."

ويذكر إن مشروع ديكوز دبي الذي يضم فندقاً وشققاً فندقية يحتل موقعاً مركزياً على جذع ’النخلة جميرا‘ ويبعد مسافة عشر دقائق عن مرسى دبي وشارع الشيخ زايد و45 دقيقة عن مطار دبي الدولي. وسيسهم في تحقيق إضافة متميزة للعبق البريطاني في قطاع الضيافة الفاخر في دبي.
ويحظى ضيوف الفندق المؤلف من 273 غرفة والشقق الفندقية البالغ عددها 227 شقة بدخول حصري إلى مرافق الترفيه العالمية بما فيها بركة سباحة رائعة وبركة سباحة داخلية وبركة أخرى خارجية وقاعة رشاقة بمعايير عالمية إضافة إلى المطاعم ومرافق الترفيه الخمس في أعلى الفندق.
